The Gouf, Gelgoog, Zudah, and Dom all out-performed the Federation mass-produced mobile suits despite the Zudah's tendency to explode at extremely high speeds and the Dom and Gelgoog being relatively fragile, and the Kampfer was statistically better than the NT-1 (It did it's job in wiping out the other Federation Forces like it should have, and only lost to the Alex because 1) no one expected the wrist gatlings, and 2) Mischa's a fucking idiot for running- not boosting, RUNNING- at the Alex with just a beam saber. The Acguy and Z'Gok were beloved by troops and were only discontinued because Kycillia Zabi hated amphibious Mobile Suits, and the Hildolfr, which is an amazing tank that, uncalibrated and being piloted by a dope addict going through withdrawl, wiped out 8 Zakus stolen by the Federation and 2-4 tanks within a matter of minutes, only going down because the cockpit took a 120mm round at point blank (And it was armored well enough that the Hildolfr's pilot could STILL gib- yes, gib- the enemy that dealt the fatal blow before succombing to his wounds). In fact, the Gelgoog was considered on par with the Gundam itself, and the Zeong was actually better. Amuro's just a really friggin' good pilot. The Zeon units all did their jobs properly, and looked hella good while doing it. Even the Apsaluses, which were considered failures and actually cancelled by Zeon High Command, but damn, did they do their job. The only reason the Apsalus III went down was because Guinness forgot to shut his own cockpit, and got punched into paste by the Ez-8 as a result. Kampfer is a little overrated as well, the animation has it fighting inattentive pilots, IIRC. Altera the Hun Posted February 8, 2011 Author Share Posted February 8, 2011 It didn't help that Gihren was more of a micromanaging asshole than Hitler, that Zeon blew shittons of funds and resources on god-awful Mobile Armors like the Zakurello and Adzam, and that there were two massive coups at the end of the war, along with the Delaz Fleet's desertion. And the Kampfer's pilot wasn't very bright himself- I want to just shoot Mischa every time I see the scene where the Kampfer pull it's Beam Saber and jogs- Not runs, let alone use its boosters- towards the Alex. At least Ecole du Ciel's Akira knows how to properly handle the machine, even if he has a bad habit of burning out its generators at a retardedly high rate. Both Neo Zeons completely mauled the Federation though. The first only fell apart due to Glemmy Toto's rebellion, and the second was genuinely winning up until the point that Amuro beat Char and started pushing back Axis by himself. Those Crosshairs can get evil when the enemy is attacking and has a hit over 50. Raptors are mooks in ZOE 1 and 2, but they're shown to be able to devastate entire armies of LEVs alone nevertheless. ...Yeah, compared to Orbital Frames, LEVs are shit. Vic Viper aside...
