[FE11] eclipse's Horribly Opinionated Draft Tournament Character Ranking

I'd say that Matthis is slightly overrated on Hard. Lena can and usually will die on hard modes, and so maybe minus 0.5 on the hard rating if you don't have Lena. Because if you have Lena, chances are you are doing everything to protect her.

Matthis

+ Starts with D Lances (1 on Normal, 2 on Hard, 3 on Normal and you do not have any of the Altean Three or Caeda, 4.5 on Hard, and you do not have Abel, Cain, or Caeda)

Doesn't Draug have Base D lances as well? Admitedly, different reclass sets, but...

I've noticed that the AI will target generics over her, if you're smart about reclassing. If you don't have a bunch of generics, you're doing it very wrong.

I think her durability becomes a bigger issue above H3 (IIRC, it took an arrow to bring her down on H3, and this was her as a flying horse).

ITP: The entire Wolfguard (Wendell gets his own post later)

Hardin

+ Costs no turns to recruit (1)

+ SILVER LANCE (2 on Normal, 3 on Hard)

+ His bases make him somewhat hard to kill (1.5 on Normal, .5 on Hard)

- 30% Strength growth (1 on Normal, 1.5 on Hard)

Normal: 7.5/10

Hard: 7/10

If Hardin was in Class B, his growths would be PERFECT. The Silver Lance is a huge boon, because piling on damage early is a must.

Wolf

+ Costs no turns to recruit (1)

+ Sexy! Erm, growths! Especially since he's Class B (4 on Normal, 3.5 on Hard)

- Complete and utter PITA to level early (1)

- No starting weapon ranks (.5)

- Doesn't have very long to take advantage of his godly growths (.5)

- That's a LOT of negative RES (.5)

Normal: 7.5/10

Hard: 7/10

Wolf's biggest problem are those first two levels. Once his growths kick in, he's awesome, but the trick is making him grow!

Sedgar

+ Costs no turns to recruit (1)

+ VERY SEXY! Erm, growths, that is. (4)

- Negative Skill (1)

- Complete and utter PITA to level early (1)

- No starting weapon ranks (.5)

Overall: 7.5/10

Like Wolf, his biggest problem early on is experience. Unlike Wolf. . .he's got two more levels. He's nowhere near as lucky as Wolf, and that makes me sad.

Roshea

+ Costs no turns to recruit (1)

+ His equipment makes sense (.5)

+ Growths complement the class A set nicely (.5)

+ Pretty good base Skill for his level (.5)

+ Reclassing exists (1)

- 0% personal Speed growth means he'll need to go Archer for Speed, which means he loses his mobility (1.5, 2 if you have Darros or Bord)

- Slightly underleveled (.5)

Overall: 6.5/10

You have Darros or Bord: 6/10

If you're short on class A males, Roshea can chuck Javelins. If not, he can go Cupid. If you have Darros or Bord, they'll want the Speedwings more than my Purple Skittle, and that will hurt his Javelin-chucking utility (which is why it's not mentioned).

Vyland

+ Costs no turns to recruit (1)

+ Bases aren't too bad, given his level (.5)

+ Wants to stay a Cavalier, meaning he's a permanent Javelin-chucker (1, 2 if the only other class A male on your team is Gordin, 3 if he's the first class A male you've recruited)

+/- Umm. . .thanks for the Steel Lance? (good weapon, but not on Vyland)

- Frail Cavalier, and the rest of his growths aren't spectacular (1)

- Will need TWO Strength level-ups to wield a Javelin without AS loss (1)

- Underleveled (1)

Overall: 4.5/10

Gordin's the only other class A male: 5.5/10

No other class A males: 6.5/10

Vyland is horribly outclassed by most of the class A male set. Gordin will appreciate the help, if you're desperate enough to keep him as a physical unit. The only reason why Vyland doesn't see a bigger Underleveled penalty is because 6x is close by, which means he has time to catch up.

Would Draug have any disadvantage from having no personal defense growth?

I listed it as "Glass Cannon" (meaning he dodges or he dies).
