Read or listen?

Generally I like reading by myself silently because I can't stand hearing annoying voices of people trying to read. Plus I get a lot more done by myself than another person reading it to me.

I think it's obvious most of us will pick reading silently, since we aren't little kids to be listening stories anymore.

I actually don't care for the sound of my own voice in my head. I'm better at listening.

Then there's the matter of the voice reading (whether it's crisp and not monotonous/bored sounding), but I'm assuming the best.

not like any of that matters when it's so rare to have the option to listen.

It really depends. If it's someone who will read it dramatically and all, I would definitely want to listen, but this works more with poetry and scripts rather than anything else.

So I suppose I'll choose reading.

Reading silently works best for me, as my reading speed is insane, and it helps tone down boredom if the story that's being read aloud isn't all that good.

I prefer to read silently. I like to imagine how characters sound.

I always hated reading out loud back in grade school. It always took so much longer that way.

I choose reading silently. Because I can't really follow the story when listen to someone else. o3o

Both, more or less, because someone else reading will make me for some reason inclined to read ahead of them.

Reading silently. Reading silently doesn't make me run out of breath like others do out loud.

Plus I like imagining the voices of the characters as I imagine them in my head.

Usually I'm better at reading, because if I get bored, which I always do, I can just close the book. If someones talking to me I'm not going to tell them to stop and come back later.
