Tables
Mackily to Agusty: 9 turns (40 turns total) Everyone gets a second shot at the arena, except Midir (hers comes later) and Ethlin, and a few guys get a first shot. Things go... not too great, a few people get through one or two more rounds but they aren't really as successful as I'd hoped. That swordfighter really tears people up. As for the actual fighting, Midir is slightly disappointing on the ledge: There's too many forests in the way so he can't actually get around to help. Otherwise things go fine, Fin kills the boss for the Slayer, everyone there chips in to help. Crazy warp lady Deirdre warps Alec some more and caps MAG, so I'm not going to bother abusing her any more (Deirdre's effective total growth is now 130% - and 70% of that is HP). Fury laughs at the ballistae, and flies in to kill them and get revenge on Shagall. Then everyone just gets a little more exp, healers heal, dancer dance, haters hate, people stand with lovers and Sigurd comes in for the seize. To stop the chart getting too large, I'm getting more picky with what I consider 'notable'. Primary steel weapons are about the weakest I'll accept on it now. | Lv. | Arena Ch. | Stats | | Lover | Notable Character | Exp | 1/2/3/4/5 | HP | ST | MG | SK | SP | LK | DF | MD | Gold | status | Equipment ----------|-------|-----------|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|-------|------------|--------------- Sigurd | 18.43 | */*/1/1/1 | 51 | 22 | 2 | 18 | 17 | 13 | 14 | 4 | 29120 | Diedre | Silver Sw (24), Return Noish | 16.28 | 6/7/1/1/1 | 41 | 15 | 0 | 14 | 11 | 5 | 16 | 1 | 26700 | None | Steel Sw, Elite Alec | 9.19 | 7/4/1/1/1 | 38 | 10 | 1 | 14 | 13 | 4 | 8 | 0 | 15870 | None | Ardan | 7.81 | 6/3/1/1/1 | 39 | 15 |!!3!| 5 | 4 | 3 | 17 | 0 | 35520 | 200 Aideen | Fin | 15.11 | */*/1 | 41 | 12 | 0 | 11 | 13 | 14 | 14 | 0 | 26260 | None | Hero, Slayer, Speed, Magic Cuan | 14.53 | */*/1 | 45 | 21 | 2 | 13 | 15 | 5 | 15 | 3 | 41510 | Ethlin | Silver Midir | 13.04 | 6/7/1/1/1 | 40 | 12 | 0 | 10 | 14 | 5 | 9 | 0 | 36465 | 200 Aideen | Steel Levin | 10.33 | */1/1/1 | 38 | 2 | 12 | 14 | 19 | 9 | 5 | 9 | 23900 | 200 Sylvia | Elwind Holyn | 16.95 | */1/1/1 | 44 | 16 | 0 | 21 | 18 | 1 | 13 | 1 | 17580 | None | Steel B Azel | 12.91 | */7/1/1/1 | 39 | 0 | 13 | 9 | 16 | 4 | 4 | 8 | 31700 |200 Lachesis| Thunder, Skill Jamka | 14.36 | */*/1/1/1 | 43 | 15 | 0 | 14 | 18 | 6 | 11 | 0 | 26900 | 300 Aideen | Killer, Barrier Beowulf | 12.32 | 4/1/1/1 | 40 | 14 | 0 | 12 | 13 | 3 | 12 | 1 | 15000 |200 Lachesis| Steel Lex | 19.28 | 7/7/1/1/1 | 48 | 15 | 0 | 13 | 14 | 9 | 19 | 2 | 33960 | 300 Aira | Hero Dew | 8.69 | 3/3/1/1/1 | 29 | 5 | 1 | 9 | 17 | 16 | 5 | 1 | 0 | 200 Aideen | Slim, Shield Deirdre | 18.38 | 4/4/1 | 38 | 3 | 23 | 11 | 14 | 7 | 6 | 25 | 12960 | Sigurd | Aura, Silence, Circlet, Warp Ethlin | 14.65 | 7/5/1 | 37 | 15 | 9 | 13 | 15 | 10 | 6 | 9 | 42820 | Cuan | Light, Live, Return St, Bargain, Cutter Lachesis | 8.16 | 5/1/1/1 | 30 | 12 | 8 | 11 | 14 | 7 | 9 | 9 | 22650 | 200 Azel | Live, Prayer, Thief Aira | 14.34 | */*/1/1/1 | 39 | 15 | 0 | 22 | 20 | 4 | 9 | 2 | 32180 | 300 Lex | Steel Fury | 10.90 | */1/1/1 | 34 | 13 | 2 | 14 | 19 | 8 | 10 | 9 | 23580 | 200 Levin | Slim L, Libro Sylvia | 4.58 | 3/1/1/1 | 29 | 3 | 1 | 4 | 12 | 7 | 2 | 5 | 8200 | 200 Levin | Slim Aideen | 15.40 | 1/1/1/1/1 | 38 | 1 | 16 | 8 | 11 | 17 | 3 | 11 | 23000 | 300 Jamka | Relive So: Aideen x Claude is unstarted Aira x Lex > 300 Lachesis x Azel > 200 Fury x Noish < 300 (barely started) Sylvia x Dew < 300 (some progress) Not too bad, but not too great progress so far. As good as I could probably expect though given three pairing can't start until pretty much late chapter 3. Also Lachesis has the Knight Ring. I did the inventory lists based on the end of chapter 2 though (as I can check arena data) then just checked lover status in chapter 3. Tables
Chapter 3: Arena/preparations Everyone hits the arena, as normal. A little various item trading (mostly of the Hero Lance but also Killer Bow) sees a lot of people through the arena. Noish manages to just about clear the arena and with his Elite Ring and also the Pursuit Ring he's temporarily keeping (I'm probably going to give it to Tiltyu when she has the money - which may have to come from Levin) and secures his promotion (it's amusing seeing Noish promoted while Alec is level 9). Lex also promotes, as you generally expect from Lex around now. Generally people did well in the arena, just over half made it past at least the Dark Mage (interestingly, only one person got stuck at the dark mage - Azel). Sylvia failed to even beat a single opponent. Dew hasn't yet attempted the arena, he had to give him money away to Noish. In terms of notable item exchanges... Fury got the Hero Lance. It'll go to Noish eventually for inheritance. Noish gets the Pursuit Ring for the time being Fin still has the Magic Ring. He'll sell it once there's someone who actually wants it and can afford it. Jamka had sole claim to the Silver Bow, which he got. Same for Lex and the Silver Axe Ethlin has the Elite Ring for now. It'll obviously be removed before the end of the chapter, but it'd be nice to get her and Cuan a little more exp for Leaf and Altenna's sakes. Lachesis keeps the Knight ring. I can't see anyone at the moment who can afford the 40K penalty that would actually make up for the loss of having it on Lachesis. Aira gets the other Silver sword. Her steel sword went to I think Alec. Fury has the Hero Lance. Aideen picked up Libro and Warp, draining most of her funds. Sigurd still has the Sleep staff. Tables
So, I just came across a strange game freeze glitch, which I can't seem to work out what's going on with. I've checked, and it works with an unhacked (English patched) copy of the game (which isn't surprising since this run doesn't change anything in gen 1). It's in the attached savestate - basically, Ethlin in the arena seems to cause a funky freeze if she's retreated after exactly 1 or 3 rounds of combat - but not after 2. Later fights worked fine. It's probably one of those once off, too rare to care about glitches, but, hey, it exists, might as well tell people. FE4_English.zip I'm going to write up most of chapter 3 soon. If you checked the savestate you'd see I've just beaten the Cross Knights, I'll finish up to and write up the first two castles. It should be an... interesting read . Agusty to Madino: 8 turns This was an otherwise smooth trip, with a major strategic blunder. I didn't realise it until a few turns in, which is why it stayed, and I actually managed to (reasonably) work around it. Lex and Aira headed east to the armour knights (this actually was probably a mistake itself, Aira's avoid is pretty poor against them, they all have Javelins and 3HKO her). Lex gave her the Hero sword, and two turns later they were lovers. Nice. They dealt fairly well with the armours, although Aira needed a lucky dodge to do so. Lex then headed north to clear the villages while Aira headed back west to prepare for Cross Knights. Fin, Noish and Fury headed west to the Lance Knights and had no problems disposing of them. Dew headed northwest to the village... this was the major strategic mistake. Firstly because he was only just fast enough to reach it before the Cross Knights emerged (in fact, without a little manipulation of their AI they were all about to chase him down - which would obviously have been a problem). Secondly because there're almost no enemies that way, and Dew kinda needs EXP. Thirdly and most significantly, he wants to be glued to Silvia as much as possible. Fourthly because he wants to get into position to go to Blagi Tower. The first problem I couldn't know in advance, but with Fin's help killing the bandit it was averted (I'll mention more next section). The second and third ones are just something I'm going to have to live with, although he did kill two bandits (and steal their money). The final one I managed to fix. Jamka and Midir head into the forest to kill the mages. They're generally successful, Midir actually doesn't do much. Everyone else heads north to fight the main bulk of enemies. Lachesis takes advantage of her Knight Ring to heal and still stay with Azel, Ethlin uses Sylvia to take advantage of her Elite Ring, and her EXP shoots up pretty rapidly. Otherwise people just kill stuff, no real problems, I clear the bandits on the right and Aideen goes to get the treasure and staff from them. Azel decides to be awesome, and with Sylvia's help one turns the boss with ease. He can pass the Thunder Sword down to Nanna. I delay a turn in seizing so Dew can get to safety, while killing ballistae, healing and getting ready for the Cross Knight fight. Deirdre 'leaves'. Here are her final stats. I forgot to note down money and arena progress (fairly sure arena is 3 and her money was somewhere in the 30K range I think) Lv. 18.68 HP: 38 STR: 3 MAG: 23 SKL: 11 SPD: 14 LUK: 7 DEF: 6 RES: 25 Madino to Silvall: 11 turns This one went just as smoothly strategically as the above . The problem this time being me going 'okay, I made a mistake with Dew... better keep Azel and Lachesis together in the north'. One turn later, I remember who talks to Eltoshan. Oops. Meanwhile, Ardan has to bait the Cross Knights away from Dew and Fin, who cross through the north coast by the forests (Dew is going to get the +3 STR village, for ease of training now - it doesn't give any benefit to his children, but that's a small price to pay). I regroup my team just north of Agusty, and have to retreat even further for Lachesis and Sylvia to reasonably catch up. Ardan actually gets returned, since he'd be too out of position otherwise. Levin takes a few hits from the knights, and severely weakens some as a result. With my team actually in position, I crush the knights surprisingly easily, leaving just one alive who can't kill anybody on the enemy phase, and talk to Eltoshan reasonably simply. Score. I now send Lachesis back up north - the northern team will consist of slow moving people I didn't think would help overly with capturing Silvall and ones with lovers on Orgahil - Azel, Jamka, Aideen, Lachesis and Dew. You might notice there are two healers there. That was another strategic error, really, really should have had both Azel and Lachesis move down with the main group. Possible Aideen as well - Warping people to Silvall would have been useful later... this chapter just sucked strategically, basically. Ethlin goes back and promotes, deals with a little more arena, encounters the glitch I mentioned before, and then heads back out. At this point I realise my army is basically hurting and without a healer, which seems fun. I press on anyway, with Silvia holding behind to dance Ethlin. Fin gets a few kills on the Knights by Silvall, and I break through them. I check the Dragon Knights - they're a little over two turns away at this point, so I decide I can just about take out the knights by Silvall before they arrive. It turns out that I was right, and the knights fall reasonably easily just as the Dragon Knights arrive. They also fall quite easily, with Midir and Levin tag teaming the boss (Levin gets the Life Ring). Fury takes the DEF village, and I start focusing on Shagall. Various people hit him, and then Cuan takes the kill - he'll be giving that Silver Blade to Leaf. Sigurd captures, and I get ready for the trek over to Orgahil. Tables
Silvall to Orgahil: 18 turns (37 total) I typed all this up, then my browser went back after a misclick and deleted everything I typed. So this won't be very detailed since I can't be bothered to type up everything again. Basically, Dew, Jamka and Azel kill bandits, Azel gets the Leg ring. Aideen was a mistake to leave in the north, everyone else takes ages to catch up due to the lack of Warp. When they do I send Dew and people with warping staves west, Fin goes to fight the boss and nearby enemies for EXP. Jamka gets the kill and power ring. Tiltyu gets stat screwed epicly in HP and DEF, after going through the arena with the Elite Ring. Just check the table (her bases/growths are 28/60% and 1/10% and level 3). | Lv. | Arena Ch. | Stats | | Lover | Notable Character | Exp | 1/2/3/4/5 | HP | ST | MG | SK | SP | LK | DF | MD | Gold | status | Equipment ----------|-------|-----------|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|-------|------------|--------------- Sigurd | 21.40 | */*/*/1/1 | 54 | 24 | 2 | 20 | 19 | 13 | 14 | 4 | 43220 | Diedre | Silver Sw (30), Return Noish | 21.31 | 6/7/*/1/1 | 45 | 21 | 5 | 17 | 15 | 7 | 21 | 6 | 32920 | 300 Fury | Steel Sw (21), Pursuit Alec | 12.93 | 7/4/4/1/1 | 39 | 10 | 1 | 16 | 14 | 4 | 8 | 1 | 25330 | 300 Sylvia | Steel Sw (26) Ardan | 8.91 | 6/3/3/1/1 | 40 | 16 | 3 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 17 | 0 | 41860 | 300 Aideen | (Fin) | 20.04 | */*/* | 44 | 18 | 0 | 15 | 16 | 18 | 17 | 3 | 49960 | None | Silver, Slayer (Cuan) | 19.30 | */*/* | 50 | 22 | 3 | 14 | 16 | 7 | 19 | 3 | 50000 | Ethlin | Silver, GAE BOLG, Silver Bl Midir | 16.06 | 6/7/7/1/1 | 41 | 13 | 1 | 11 | 14 | 6 | 11 | 0 | 39245 | 200 Aideen | Steel Levin | 15.76 | */*/1/1 | 42 | 2 | 16 | 17 | 24 | 9 | 5 | 11 | 42900 | 300 Sylvia | Elwind, Life Holyn | 19.02 | */6/1/1 | 47 | 17 | 0 | 23 | 19 | 2 | 13 | 1 | 28580 | 200 Sylvia | Steel B Azel | 17.41 | */7/5/1/1 | 44 | 1 | 17 | 12 | 19 | 5 | 5 | 8 | 37600 |400 Lachesis| Thunder, Skill, Leg, Thunder Sw Jamka | 19.30 | */*/*/1/1 | 47 | 15 | 0 | 14 | 23 | 8 | 11 | 0 | 37400 | 300 Aideen | Killer (21), Barrier, Power, Claude | 25.40 | 5/1/1 | 39 | 0 | 25 | 14 | 18 | 12 | 6 | 23 | 4485 | 200 Tiltyu | Reserve, Fire, VALKRIE Beowulf | 14.43 | 4/4/1/1 | 40 | 14 | 0 | 13 | 14 | 4 | 12 | 1 | 23365 |200 Lachesis| Steel Lex | 23.82 | 7/7/*/1/1 | 50 | 23 | 0 | 15 | 15 | 10 | 25 | 5 | 43880 | Aira | Hero Dew | 12.07 | 3/3/4/1/1 | 31 | 11 | 1 | 11 | 18 | 17 | 9 | 2 | 0 | 300 Aideen | Slim, Shield, Wind, Clipper (Deirdre) | 18.68 | 4/4/3 | 38 | 3 | 23 | 11 | 14 | 7 | 6 | 25 | ??? | Sigurd | Circlet (Ethlin) | 30.00 | 7/5/* | 45 | 24 | 12 | 21 | 24 | 15 | 14 | 12 | 50000 | Cuan | Slim, Cutter, Bargain, Return Lachesis | 13.77 | 5/6/1/1 | 32 | 15 | 8 | 11 | 15 | 10 | 11 | 10 | 29010 | 400 Azel | Prayer, Thief, Earth, Knight Aira | 18.47 | */*/*/1/1 | 42 | 15 | 0 | 24 | 22 | 4 | 10 | 2 | 46860 | Lex | Hero Fury | 14.82 | */7/1/1 | 36 | 13 | 2 | 14 | 20 | 9 | 14 | 10 | 36730 | 300 Noish | Hero L Tiltyu | 15.04 | */1/1 | 30 | 2 | 12 | 21 | 19 | 16 | 1 | 9 | 21620 | 200 Claude | Tron, Elite Sylvia | 8.08 | 3/1/1/1 | 32 | 3 | 3 | 4 | 12 | 10 | 2 | 5 | 11900 | 300 Levin | Slim Aideen | 21.75 | 1/1/5/1/1 | 41 | 1 | 23 | 12 | 14 | 19 | 6 | 12 | 15220 | 300 Jamka | Relive, Warp, Libro, Restore, Thunder Briggid | 18.02 | */1/1 | 46 | 24 | 0 | 24 | 22 | 13 | 16 | 10 | 23740 | 200 Jamka | Steel, ICHIVAL
Kriemhild
Celice doesn't inherit the Tyrfing, he gets it by talking to Palmark in that chapter. However, his strength won't help him do any damage to Alvis.. I meant the holy blood loss but that doesn't seem to be affected. Can we do a Pregnant Father run, where the father determines the kids and the moms must compete for their spot? Only problem being that there's too many men in Gen 1. Even if we knew how to do that, we would have to invent new characters because there aren't enough children for everybody.
Tables
Chapter 4 Preparations Whee, promotions! Whee, Elite Ring! This one went pretty well overall. Without boring you with all the details, everyone who could trade the Elite Ring (more or less) did, and with great results. 7 people got promoted, all but 7 cleared the arena (and of those, I'm hopeful for 4 to make significant progress later in the chapter), and items got traded around. The Magic ring is still sitting in the pawn shop though :(. Mainly because with Elite Ringing, money's suddenly gotten tight on a few people (read as: My mages are poor for some reason). Character by character breakdown: Sigurd cleared the arena. He sold the sleep staff! Noish cleared the arena, sold the pursuit ring and took a speed ring and the Hero Lance Alec got to round 7 (Volcanon Baron). He... might clear it if he promotes (15.57) but I'm not too bothered. He got the clipper anyway. Ardan is stuck at round 5 (Hero Lance Pegasus). Midir promoted, cleared the arena, took Jamka's Silver bow (and gave him a steel one in return). Now he's actually moderately useful. Moderately. Levin cleared the arena, promoted, and took the Recover staff Holyn cleared the arena, promoted, and didn't get anything since he's forever alone. Azel promoted, lost his leg ring, and cleared the arena (not necessarily in that order). Jamka cleared the arena, promoted, lost his Silver Bow and took Midir's Steel one. Claude cleared the arena, took the Wind tome and is really just after money now. Beowulf cleared the arena. Lex barely cleared the arena. Dew lost the clipper he couldn't use and got to round 4. Hopefully he can promote this chapter... even though he's on level 13. Lachesis got to round 4. I'd like her to promote probably more than anyone. She's lost the thief sword to Sylvia (because Fury couldn't afford it after I realised I wanted her to have it :() but got the leg ring for the time being to keep up with Azel and be a psuedo-mount. Aira lost the Hero sword but cleared the arena and promoted. Fury... got to round 7, but is at 18.94 so should promote after Thove hopefully. Her inventory has changed a lot, she's now got the Slim Lance, Elite and Hero sword. And 10 gold. Boo. Tiltyu promoted. Yes, basically 1/3rd of a chapter after she joined, and she's gained 17 levels. I wasn't even giving her favouritism either (well, maybe with Dew giving her all his money)... anyway, she cleared the arena and has picked up the pursuit ring, which she'll keep to pass down. Silvia got to round 2, and picked up the Thief sword to hopefully steal some money. Except... I now realise it'll be Dew who wants those to pass down to Leen. Well, now both can steal money, yay! Aideen traded heal staves with Lachesis and has reached round 4 in the arena. I think she can get further... possibly. Brigid cleared the arena. So, asides from the obvious objective of clearing the arena, I have a few extra goals I'm striving for here: Promote Fury (easy), Lachesis (not too tough), Dew (pretty hard) and perhaps Alec (hard) Get some money for Sylvia (easy), Claude (not too bad), Aideen (ditto Claude), and perhaps Fury (just 1K will suffice so easy) Keep Dew x Sylvia together always, as well as Aideen x Claude, Brigid x Jamka and Tiltyu x Levin. Try to keep Fury x Noish and Azel x Lachesis together, but they're less of a priority since they're close already. Hopefully this will all work out neatly... Mekkah
Ardan is stuck at round 5 (Hero Lance Pegasus). I was gonna say "dang, buy the man a bow" then realized this is not a promoted Ardan... Anyway I'm sort of following this but I'm only really interested in Gen 2.
Tables
I was gonna say "dang, buy the man a bow" then realized this is not a promoted Ardan... Anyway I'm sort of following this but I'm only really interested in Gen 2. To be honest, me too... v.v I head back to university on Tuesday with my lolphail laptop, so there's a good chance the rate of running will decrease significantly (to be fair it already has... whatever). Which is a shame as Gen 2 is close but... meh.
Tables
So, with university over, it's time to restart this thing! That is, continue it, not actually restart it... Saline to Thove: 21 turns Having reminded myself of what I was doing and who was pairing with who, I set off, with the goals I listed before as essentially my main aims. The first few villages fell quickly and easily, and Fury, Claude and someone else (Sylvia I think) scooped up some cash. So far so good. Meanwhile the wind mages were not much of a problem, and were felled by an assortment of units (including one or two by Dew). The Pegasus Knights that came next were also pretty easy, and in fact the boss (Deetva?) ended up running back to get reinforcements. I let her, and ended up beating her squad three times while Dew and Sylvia collected money and stuff, and also while Dew caught up to the drawbridge Most of my pairs stayed together almost every turn, with a few breaking off once in a while for combat/other important tasks (e.g. Sylvia and Dew visited the northernmost villages at the same time). With Thove about to go down I needed to work out who to leave behind and who to take south. I left all three archers (two were trying to fall in love so needed to be together, but Midir I probably should have taken back), both unpromoted cavaliers, and Aideen/Claude (Aideen was my sole warper as Rescue disappeared with Ethlin). I took Ardan back, which was a complete mistake as he got stuck at the mountains, and so basically did nothing (but then again, lol Ardan). Thove was captured in a slightly slow 21 turns, but, hey, I'm not going for efficiency here (because I suck at Fire Emblem lol). Thove to Saline: 12 turns Watch plot battle. Continue moving people back and forth. Have a sad as I don't have time to send Fury back to be promoted, as Noish needs to stay with her (also Dew with Sylvia, who went back just before). I probably should have warped those two back, in retrospect, as they fell in love while running/flying back together anyway. Two slightly amusing occurences happened here. Lachesis was very close to promoting (19.57 IIRC) but was stuck at the home castle with nobody injured to heal. The solution? Dew and Syliva, when warped back, went and got themselves injured in the arena. Then Sylvia healed them both, heading straight back into the castle. Then I warped back Azel, my only injured unit on the field, and healed him to get the last three exp. Bam, promotion. Sold the Knight Ring as it was totally useless kept on Lachesis, but kept the Leg Ring for now as Dew wouldn't need it this chapter. The second amusing occurence wasn't really that amusing, but eh. Dew got fed about 5 Civilians, plus a Warrior to get up to level 20. I decided it was worth sending him back with Sylvia to promote and clear the arena (he actually got stuck on round 7, but that's good enough for me). Asides from that, there's really nothing actually in this section. About a dozen easy enemies plus Pamela's squad (who got creamed of course, 3 bow users lol). Pamela escaped, more exp, joy. Saline to Zaxon: 11 turns Firstly, that high turn count was me waiting for the Aideen x Claude pairing to happen so I wouldn't miss Rescue. As it turns out you get that in Chapter 5 anyway... whoops. 3 turns lost, no biggie. Levin gets HOLSETY. Azel baits the assassins group, killing a few, wounding some others, and then has my reinforcements move in for the final kills. Nothing too challenging, and no items to pick up so nothing really notable about this. Then Pamela's squad, who were also a joke. Lots more free exp. Finally the Generals and the boss. So many great shields ¬_¬. They must have had about a 60% activation rate, which was obviously very annoying. They died, though, with Fury getting at least a couple of kills. Meanwhile, most of my pairings were finshing off. Jamka x Briggid happened, followed shortly after by Dew x Sylvia and then Aideen x Claude on the final turn. Tables
Chapter 5: Preparations Everyone hits the arena. The Elite Ring gets traded around, with a few but not too many people getting to use it. I made a mistake in not giving it to Dew, well, that's maybe a level or two's EXP lost but that would have been gaining some stats for, uh, Corple and Leen, so I guess I'm not too bothered. About half of my team cleared the arena, with most of the rest getting stuck on round 4 (the Forrest). Then I did my preliminary trading around, listing only worthwhile inheritable items: Noish: Speed ring, Hero Lance, Light Sword, Javelin + weaker weapons Levin: Elwind, Holsety, Life ring Azel: Skill ring, Wind sword, Defence sword Jamka: Barrier ring, Killer Bow, Silver Bow Claude: Reserve, Valkyrie, Libro, Warp, Restore, will also add Rescue soon Lex: Return ring, Power ring. Lachke has a sad. Dew: Knight ring, Leg ring + some weak swords Lachesis: Earth Sword, Hero Sword, Shield Ring, will also have a Silver Sword Aira: Silver Sword, Thunder Sword, Clipper Fury: Magic Ring, Relive Tiltyu: Pursuit Ring, Elite Ring. Sylvia: Nothing Aideen: Nothing Briggid: Nothing (Well Ichival I guess) So yeah. I think I'm ready. Most of these characters are level 25-30 and all cleared the arena, so they're doing good. Time to get started... tomorrow.
Tables
People still interested in this at all? Gen 2 starts soon, yay! Zaxon to Lubeck: 9 turns Dew, Noish, Ardan, Lachesis and Fury take the western route. Dew I want to earn some money, after he gives it all to Lachesis. Also to get some levels, since he grows well. They have no problem mowing down bandits, knights and the like, then begin heading back east to catch up, except Dew, who goes Bandit hunting for money and exp. Tiltyu gets some combat on the east, to take advantage of her relatively low level and elite ring. The Tron tome is basically broken (like 10 uses at this point) and she has no money to fix it, I don't care much as she can't pass it down and Arthur starts with a Wind tome, so she doesn't need to pass him anything really. She also falls in love after about three turns with Levin, as I'd expected. Uh, asides from Tiltyu, everyone else progresses eastward, takes down the armour knights, axe knights and bow knights with ease. Claude and Tiltyu take a village each (Tiltyu still needs SOME money after all for Tron, but I don't want to waste 12K repairing it to full with Levin's money), and progress ever eastward. Langobalt is tough, but Arthur and Briggid take him down. Aideen gets the Rescue staff. The conversation was quite amusing in terms of my plans for it. "Hey Aideen, uh, we're all gonna die, take this and save some people." "Aw thanks Claude, a Rescue staff? Hey, I have an idea - I'm gonna sell this in the Pawn shop, then you can buy it!" Lubeck to Phinoras: 5 turns Sigurd repairs Tyrfing then totally obliterates the arena with it, not quite reaching level 30. No matter, he has some time. Aideen sells the Rescue and gives her money to Claude, who repairs everything (Lana is getting quite an inventory of staves - too bad he fell just short of affording the Silence staff, although it's not really needed). Sad plot battle. Fury clears some of the Meteo Mages and one Sleep staffer, everyone else moves in. Claude takes the slower north route, effectively taking him out of the end of the chapter but letting him rescue 10 move Dew (who will most certainly catch up) who was basically on the other side of a mountain... Phinoras mages are killed, Sigurd siezes. I double check inventories and consider last minute passing-around.
Tables
Phinoras to Velthomer: 16 turns (30 total) Regarding item management, I decided someone could use Holyn's Steel Blade so it went to Lachesis - there are 4 sword uses right from the start in Gen 2 (well, from the second turn but yeah) and only two inherit weapons, so someone might well want it. Aira also took both Silver Swords for the same reason. Finally, Levin's Recover went to Claude. The dragon knights were annoying, constantly ending on the desert, so I took more time than I wanted to lure them somewhere I could actually fight. Then they went down easily. Tiltyu annoyingly hadn't automatically equipped her Tron tome, so she took a few hits without countering, but no big loss. Dew was rescued, and both Claude and Dew made it into the fray. After the dragons went down, cue long walk across desert. Lame. Reptor's army didn't really have much of a chance. Fury lured them out while my team gathered at the south, with Noish and someone else going around the rock to open attack options. A few quick kills and Reptor was in range. Sigurd weakened him while other people gained EXP to get the last few feasible levels (my particular favourit being Dew who managed to get to 90 exp, so I had him give money to Lachesis who was almost full already, for 10 exp), then Briggid overkilled Reptor with a 62mt Ichival Lover crit. Bam, Gen 1 over. Sigurd then walked up to talk to Ida, and get himself killed. | Lv. | Arena Ch. | Stats | | Lover | Notable/Inheritable Character | Exp | 1/2/3/4/5 | HP | ST | MG | SK | SP | LK | DF | MD | Gold | status | Equipment ----------|-------|-----------|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|-------|------------|--------------- Sigurd | 30 | */*/*/*/* | 63 | 25 | 2 | 22 | 20 | 14 | 17 | 4 | 20700 | Diedre | TYRFING, Return Noish | 30 | 6/7/*/*/* | 51 | 24 | 5 | 20 | 19 | 12 | 24 | 6 | 22560 | Fury | Steel Sw, Iron La, Javelin, Light, Hero Lance (24), Speed Alec | 18.25 | 7/4/4/7/4 | 44 | 12 | 1 | 18 | 15 | 5 | 9 | 2 | 18110 | --- | Steel Sw (27) Ardan | 14.31 | 6/3/3/5/4 | 45 | 20 | 3 | 7 | 5 | 4 | 19 | 0 | 22220 | --- | (Fin) | 20.04 | */*/* | 44 | 18 | 0 | 15 | 16 | 18 | 17 | 3 | 49960 | --- | Silver, Slayer (Cuan) | 19.30 | */*/* | 50 | 22 | 3 | 14 | 16 | 7 | 19 | 3 | 50000 | Ethlin | Silver, GAE BOLG, Silver Bl Midir | 24.24 | 6/7/7/*/4 | 47 | 16 | 1 | 14 | 18 | 7 | 15 | 3 | 30185 | --- | Levin | 29.09 | */*/*/* | 56 | 3 | 28 | 27 | 30 | 13 | 7 | 17 | 45550 | Tiltyu | Elwind, Life, HOLSETY Holyn | 27.05 | */6/*/* | 55 | 25 | 3 | 27 | 26 | 2 | 18 | 5 | 41220 | --- | Azel | 30 | */7/5/*/* | 54 | 7 | 25 | 17 | 22 | 8 | 14 | 10 | 24195 | Lachesis | Thunder (34), Skill, Wind Sw, Thief, Defence Jamka | 28.34 | */*/*/*/* | 55 | 24 | 0 | 17 | 27 | 11 | 16 | 4 | 49100 | Brigid | Killer (37), Barrier, Silver Claude | 30 | 5/*/4 | 43 | 1 | 27 | 15 | 20 | 14 | 7 | 23 | 835 | Aideen | Reserve, Libro, Warp, Restore, Rescue, Recover, VALKRIE Beowulf | 19.50 | 4/4/*/1 | 44 | 16 | 0 | 17 | 14 | 7 | 14 | 1 | 35725 | --- | Lex | 30 | 7/7/*/*/6 | 56 | 25 | 1 | 17 | 16 | 10 | 25 | 6 | 23960 | Aira | Return, Power Dew | 26.00 | 3/3/4/7/* | 40 | 20 | 4 | 19 | 27 | 23 | 18 | 6 | 23170 | Syliva | Iron, Slim, Knight, Leg (Deirdre) | 18.68 | 4/4/3 | 38 | 3 | 23 | 11 | 14 | 7 | 6 | 25 | ??? | Sigurd | Circlet (Ethlin) | 30 | 7/5/* | 45 | 24 | 12 | 21 | 24 | 15 | 14 | 12 | 50000 | Cuan | Slim, Cutter, Bargain, Return Lachesis | 30 | 5/6/*/* | 44 | 27 | 8 | 20 | 21 | 18 | 24 | 14 | 50000 | Azel | Earth, Hero (28), Shield, Steel Bl (21) Aira | 30 | */*/*/*/* | 51 | 23 | 1 | 30 | 30 | 9 | 17 | 5 | 17880 | Lex | Iron Bl, Silver, Silver (43), Clipper, Thunder Fury | 30 | */7/7/* | 45 | 16 | 10 | 21 | 30 | 14 | 19 | 16 | 8510 | Noish | Relive, Magic Tiltyu | 27.64 | */*/* | 43 | 6 | 21 | 24 | 27 | 23 | 7 | 16 | 0 | Levin | Pursuit, Elite Sylvia | 17.47 | 3/1/4/4 | 38 | 5 | 5 | 4 | 14 | 13 | 3 | 10 | 43310 | Dew | Aideen | 30 | 1/1/5/4/4 | 46 | 4 | 27 | 12 | 16 | 25 | 8 | 13 | 0 | Claude | Briggid | 29.03 | */*/* | 56 | 27 | 0 | 25 | 25 | 23 | 20 | 10 | 40460 | Jamka | So overall, Gen 1 went fairly well. Tables
From now on, I'll be doing a picture log of what's happening, to make things hopefully more interesting. So without further ado... GEN 2 Celice was... better than I was expecting. He's still not that great, but, not terrible, statwise, which is something. He has much lower Magic than he should do. Hmm... Skasaha is basically Lakche in the standard Lex x Aira pairing. Nothing really special to add, even their growths differences are small (Lakche will get more speed and skill, Skasaha more strength and HP) Hmm... I'm beginning to think stat inheritance is based always on the same gendered parent, like growths, and not on the major parent. The amount this affects things is small, but it does. Anyway Power ring so she's actually pretty good from the start. Lana. Ah, Lana. She suffers from a glitch I'm going to dub the 'holy overload' glitch, because of what I think is causing it. Essentially... well, nothing seems wrong with this, does it? Except... Notice anything? I think what's going on is that the game treats holy weapon inheritance differently to normal weapons, and it doesn't expect Lana to be getting any holy weapons. So when she does, it doesn't shove the last item into storage. This doesn't affect things normally, and you can play on as though nothing has happened, except the game crashes if you try and save (so don't). Since getting that screenshot required returning Lana, I load back a savestate at the start of turn 1, and advance the troops. Nothing much happens before the cavalry arrives. Delmud will be an interesting one. He has some fantastic growths to be a hybrid physical/magic sword user, but it sucks he's stuck in the wrong class for it (Forrest Knight has no base magic). Still, 14.34 MAG average at 30 isn't bad. LOLster. No skills, and a 20% STR growth mean he really won't be going far. He's already relegated to chip damage. So, with our children characters out of the way let's talk about the chapter. There's not much to talk about though. Let's just have some nice screenshots instead. Turn 3: Everything is going fine, although that army in the southeast is bigger than I remember... eh, no problem. Celice and Lakche's relatively poor damage output is a slight issue but not a major one. Skasaha starts the leveling here with a 6 stat level. Nice going, let's have a few hundred more of those please. Turn 4: Conversations begin to happen. Lester gives Lana a point of luck here, which is arguably the most useful thing Lester will do this run. Just for fun, Oifaye talks to Celice. Turn 6: That wasn't so bad. Delmud is a killer with that Hero Sword. Lakche gets a point of luck. Turn 8: Time for more combat. That army almost looks like a threat. All those axes, up against my sword users... Lester does the only thing he's good at (asides from pep talks to his sister): Chip damage. This'll let Celice take the kill for juicy EXP. Yup, he's dead. So's he. That's a sibling crit if you can't tell. Turn 9: That Bandit is moving. Hmm... gonna need to pick up the pace, I guess. Turn 10: Of course, with nothing left ahead of me, that doesn't seem too tough. Turn 11: Oifaye, you were supposed to just weaken that one ¬_¬. Turn 12: Lester vs. Harold. Seems fair enough. Oifaye gets another critical. I intended to use battle scenes when I notice something cool to show. Unfortunately, 'Javelin Crit' probably doesn't fit the bill. Oh well. Turn 13: Thunder Sword sibling crit. Less awesome when you realise it means you're essentially just getting a continue activation due to their zero MDF. Given her total lack of money, Lana would really love this village... ...[dondon]but that would be inefficient[/dondon] Turn 14: Dammit, just short of killing Harold, and I'm out of ranged attackers. Oh, wait, Thunder sword. Lolnvm. Turn 14 sieze. Joy. Edited July 12, 2011 by Tableskitty
Darros
I'm unsure if reverse inheritance even affects growths. Because in vanilla FE4, Faval gets his growths from the father and Patty gets growths from Briggid, same case with Cuans growths on Leaf and Ethlins on Altenna. Either way Lester is going to suck, and the swordtwins are basically unchanged from standard LexAyra.
Shin
Lester's doomed regardless, Claude doesn't offer Lester anything he wants - even with regular inheritance. I've been reading this for a little while now, the second generation should be interesting.
Balcerzak
Oh man, for a second I misread that as Lenster's doomed.

I actually mentioned growths weren't affected, I was unaware stat inheritance (so it seems) wasn't either. And Lester, well, he might be alright once he gets the Hero Bow, at least at doing chip damage...
Tables
So, turn 15, let's set out.
Fee is surprisingly alright. That Speed Ring looks like it might be overkill, although considering her weapon of choice is a Hero Lance, maybe not... Arthur is pretty neat, too. Bear in mind Arthur is pretty much normal Levin!Tinny joining 1 1/2 chapters earlier... it's that chapters thing that makes all the difference, though. I like the balanced stats, but with 40%/85%/80%/45% growths I can see them diverging into two pairs of close stats... Both of them set off immediately. Fee to go on village duty, Arthur to go and be selfish, getting EXP off of Dannan. It'll help him a ton, though, especially if/when he can promote. People visit the castle to sell/buy swords. Lakche gets the worse Silver Sword. She probably should have gotten the better one (which is very close to critical) considering Skasaha is already ahead on levels, but no big loss. Julia had positioned herself so that Lana could visit the castle, drop off the Valkrie (allowing me to actually save the game properly), and then have Lana talk to her, getting the Relive staff. Useful. It's not a great sword, but it's better than nothing and will keep him going for a chapter or two. Turn 16: Celice takes this. As it turns out I don't quite have as many awesome swords as I thought I did, but this is certainly sufficient. He gets a Hero Sword next chapter, after all. Turn 17: Won't be seeing this very often. Unfortunately I couldn't kill more of these guys, but, eh, only four left (one is half covered by the menu) after recruiting Johan isn't too bad. Turn 18: The mounts will head over to subdue Johalva's army, while the foot soldiers head south. That's Johan in the south, going to get himself a Skill Ring. Johan's knights suck. They're 2HKOed with 100% hit and 3HKO back with... slightly less than certain hit. They died in one round, I think. Turn 19: Well... I wasn't going to, but since you asked so nicely... Arthur is getting close to his grinding now. Turn 20: Oifey had taken some pretty bad damage (OHKO'd range) and there were three fighters left. Johalva just so happened to be on the recieving end of an Oifey crit. Turn 21: This screenshot isn't really accurate, as I reneged on this decision and send Delmud to that village instead. But Oifey did eventually go back to take the southern village. Begin the exp grind. At level 2 with the Elite Ring, Arthur is gaining 66 EXP just for hitting. And hit he does. Slightly too many times, in fact. At least he doesn't crit. Turn 23: Things are going nicely as I begin combat with Schmidt's army. Those hand axe knights love attacking Thunder sword Skasaha ¬_¬. I found this slightly amusing. In the two turns he'd used the thunder sword, Skasaha gained two magic... Oifey heading back, as I said he would. Dammit, Celice, learn to not block axes with your face. After reloading, Skasaha didn't gain magic. Sad. Turn 24: That's better. Oops. I accidentally the whole Schimidt. Mmm... How am I going to get Johan the Hero axe? I think I'll leave him for now. Hopefully I can kill enough knights to make Schmidt retreat... Err... maybe not? Well I could as it turns out. Huh. Unfortunately you might notice something missing in this screenshot. Something beginning with 'Mr. Chip' and ending in 'amage' Success! Turn 25: I am a bad, bad man. That poor knight either gets an axe to the face or jumps off a cliff. Nothing else will be going on for a while, so... Might as well have a conversation in the downtime. ...Celice This is followed up with Fee saying 'No, not yet' which I forgot to screenshot. Which is even more baffling, considering she just flew in on a Pegasus Actually, Pegasus KNIGHT is probably specifically an honorific title, which Fee hasn't earnt yet. nevermind. SOMEONE here is being an idiot, and I'm fairly sure it's both of them. Oifey reaches the village. Money, yum. Turn 27: And Oifey isn't getting back to my army, so, hey, what's that EXP doing sitting on top of a castle? Turn 28: I'll get Arthur out of there for now, he probably can't fight a whole army of Axe Knights, even from in a bush. Celice siezes here, which it looks like I forgot to screenshot. It happened. Turn 29: Rezire get! Turn 31: Lester baits the Axe Knights, does chip damage. Wonder how many I can take down... Turn 32: Surrounded! Which is a shame. For them. Success! Turn 34: Area secure, just Dannan to kill now. Oh Lester, you so bad. Turn 35: Arthur lands his first critical, and actually manages to get a kill with it. I like. Turn 36: Sieze! I lost this screenshot as well. Somehow. Just this once, because I'm lazy and they more or less fit (who cares about Johan?), I'm going to show stats via screenshot. (STR, MAG, SKL, SPD, LUK, DEF, RES) This includes ring bonuses - Johan: Skill, Delmud: Defence, Lakche: Strength, Fee: Speed. So, something else worth adding... my initial thoughts on the children. Celice: Basically bog standard, but lacking a decent sword and inheritance in general. That'll soon be fixed, but he's generally alright. Skasaha: Awesome. Delmud: He's been very good. That Hero Sword has served him well, and his defence is good as well. Once his magic growth really kicks in, he's gonna be good to give a magic sword to, too. Lester: Hahaha no. Arthur: I haven't seen much of him, but I suspect he's going to be a very useful unit. No Holsety, but good stats nonetheless, and if he keeps pursuit, some awesome skills. Lakche: See Skasaha, but with a little less Awesome due to worse inhertance. Still, she's catching up. Lana: Shame about her money situation, which meant she had to switch down from Recover to Live as I don't know if I can fund her on Recover, but her sheer versatility in terms of staves is great. Fee: Surprisingly good. Her stats are all around decent, and she has an alright inventory, which is nice. She might need a decent sword, but then, so does half my army. Finally... FUUUUUU There's more to this picture than meets the eye, mind you... I'll reveal that next time. And Leaf WILL have the Gae Bolg ;). Chapter 6 completed in 36 turns. Edit: Okay, I have a problem. It seems I can't change Leaf's inheritance, at least not without going back a reasonable distance (if loading a save on the final turn of chapter 6 doesn't do it, I doubt anything short of Gen 1 will). I've checked a few things - adding/subtracting starting items, even changing major parent to see what happens, and no effect (changing major parent still leaves him with major Noba - so he's definitely been pre-loaded). But I want to give him the Gae Bolg. Has anyone got any idea how to do so easily? At the very worst, I guess I could have him buy an Iron Sword, then change that Iron Sword into a Gae Bolg... Darros
I'm fairly certain that's fixed since Altenna's only starting item is the Gae Bolg. You'll likely have to change Leaf and Altenna's starting weapons with the Player Weapon Editor.
Tables
So, straight on to chapter 7. I'm going to just go with my transmuting an Iron Sword into the Gae Bolg for Leaf. First things first, new characters... Patty... bear in mind she's also carring the Balmung as well at this point, and, well... two holy weapons, and she can't use either. Patty might end up being okay... maybe. Those base stats look pretty alright. I mentioned there was another problem with Leaf before. That is, why doesn't he have his standard Slim Sword? The answer comes down to HOW he gets that Slim Sword... it's the Slim Sword Ethlin has in chapter 5. So Altenna will end up having it, instead. Oh well. Leaf is going to be a complete boss, especially after promotion. Nanna, like Delmud, will be nice and proficient with magic swords, as well as normal swords and also with staves. All in all, Nanna is pretty much a proficient jack-of-all-trades. Fin! He's pretty much the same as always. 30mt, 4AS (Iron Lance) is enough to reduce the sword armours here to 7HP. Or he can deal 17HP damage with the Slayer, if needed. So, enough about new units. Let's check the shop. Mmm... some actually worthwile things in there. The steel sword might go to someone, the Slim lance definitely will, the Fire Sword... maybe, and some nice staves for when Lana can actually afford them (or for other people, whichever). Johan picks up the Hand Axe for now, given nobody else will want it and 2 range could be nice. Gah! Not that Skasaha will have any trouble anyway... Lester gets the Steel bow for moar chip damage. Oifey gets the Slim lance as a main weapon. Fee has the Light Sword in storage... I think I want Delmud to have that, actually. And Delmud gets what he wants. Also from last chapter you'll recall he also gets what Lana wants. And what Oifey wants. Mmm. So, time to hit the arena. Who can go first? Hmm... let's have people who might struggle. Like Lester. Actually... not bad. That was round 5. Johan goes next. If even the mediocre characters can pretty much clear the arena, I don't think I'm gonna struggle much elsewhere. Johan needs 1 more HP to have a chance against this guy. Celice was barely able to make this one v.v Celice was ultimately successful though, although he had borrowed Delmud's Hero Sword. Skasaha takes the entire arena, using an Iron Blade. Not wanting to be beaten, Lakche does the same. Arthur and Delmud have no problems clearing the arena. Julia loses, but it's against the Warrior, so I reckon she can turbo past it. There we go. Unfortunately the General is a little too tough - accurate, not doubled, and OHKOs. Fee and Oifey have no problems blitzing through the arena. So preparations are now done. Yes, this wasn't the most exciting update, I know v.v
Tables
And we set off. Starting with the Balmung Might as well visit the village... nothing better to do, and the main army aren't going to reach them. Oifey gives Delmud some stats. I like. +1 STR, SKL, DEF. Turn 2: Leaf crits that Bandit like a boss. Turn 3: You know, one good thing about Claude!Lester... he has existent resistance. Although after two battles that's kinda offset by the low HP (105%). Fin is awesome softener. Speed ring village is good. Usually when I play, Fin gets this one, but why not mix it up a little? For now, better avoid and continue activation are nice. NANNA IS BEST CHARACTER. Hey, wait, since when did I tell Shannan he could get hurt? Turn 4: I may have dug myself into a hole here... I'm sure I'll manage. With my base level Nanna and Leaf. Celice, Fee, Oifey and Delmud will go to deal with Yied. Everyone else will head south. Except Delmud heads back as well pretty soon after this. Something about Delmud and Oifey and indecisiveness... Turn 5: Uhm... Okay, that was close. I forgot that General doesn't retreat to get new troops. Damn. Nanna needs to get to the Church now. Turn 8: I don't quite get this. "Hey, you want to come this way, right? Well, nah, we're guarding the road, see?" "Oh okay, nevermind them. I totally can't beat a few level 5 swordfighters so I won't even try and get past, even though that's the direction I need to go. I'll just sit around for a while" Turn 9: Note to self. Use Balmung. Turn 10: You know what sucks? Realising that if Fee had been healed to full health instead of 1 point off, she could actually attack. Bleh. Of course, you can just have Balmug finish it off instead. That was a fun diversion for Oifey (and Delmud, who went back much earlier) Turn 12: At last. Turn 16: Celice and Shannan talk for that sexy, uh, +1 SKL conversation. Yeah. Turn 17: Hooray, I actually screenshot the Sieze!
