Smiley Jim
She may HAVE 2-range, but as many people have said before, it sucks. Here is a quick demo on how bad her javelin chip is: [spoiler=Wendy's javelin chip] Wendy: L1 Knight w/ Javelin 10atk/64hit/1crit=19HP/8def/0res/10avo/2 AS/6cev C8 Soldiers have 33 HP/3def. Wendy does 7dmg(5HKO)at ~53 displayed hit. C8 Archers have 29HP/5def. Wendy does 5dmg(6HKO)at ~47 displayed hit. C8 Armors have 28HP/13def. Wendy tinks them(-HKO)at ~57 displayed hit. C8 Mages have 23HP/4def. Wendy does 6dmg(4HKO)at ~46 displayed hit. C8 Mercs have 30HP/7def. Wendy does 4dmg(8HKO)at ~46 displayed hit. C9 Axers have 36HP/5def. Wendy does 4dmg(9HKO)at ~34 displayed hit. C9 Pirates are the same story as fighters. And let's not get started on bosses. 0dmg/0hit/0crt. Yeah, Wendy's chip sucks. This, combined with her horrendous durability and being a Lv1 knight who joins before an axefest, is why she is in Basement tier. In fact, I'd say that Wendy is the worst overall PC in that game. Bad start, no output. At least Sophia nets me a celestial ring in Chapter 14. Edited May 31, 2011 by darkandroid125

I'm not sure whether Wendy or Sophia is worst. Sophia may have Flux, which is better than an Iron Lance or Javelin, but she is OHKO'd and doubled by practically anything not a magic user (they double, but don't 2HKO if I remember correctly). At least Wendy can hold a chokepoint for a turn semi-reliably. Edited May 31, 2011 by Radiant Dragon

Integrity
How are Javelins limited and Fire not when they're both buyable? Unless you mean it's limited because more units use Lances than Anima, thus it's harder for her to get her hands on one? Quickly addressing this before dinner: Fire is bought at a shop in the deploy screen whenever you want for a small number of people. Javelins are not buyable every map or even in every armory that does happen to occur. They're limited by your funds at the time, given that once you have funds you have to wait for another shop with Javelins to occur. They're also limited in that many more people use them than Fire. General Horace
Finally had time to get Father and Son done. Chapter 14 (Ephraim): New Units: Rennac - A character for utility purposes only. He's not half bad at killing mages though, due to decent resistance and above average speed. Units Fielded: Ephraim, Duessel, Seth, Franz, Joshua, Gerik, Natasha, Moulder, L'Arachel, Tethys, Garcia, Cormag Recruit Rennac by talking to him with L'Arachel, or pay him 10 000 g with Ephraim. Take your pick. The recruitment conversation with L'Arachel makes no sense. She says come with us and he says no, but he does anyway. This chapter is considered to be one of the toughest in the game, due to the amount of status staves, particularily the berserk/silence combo on the right. For some stupid reason, I let Cormag take on the Shaman in the tresure room (he had a pure water, but still, derp). Gerik, Ephraim, Joshua, Tethys and Natasha took the right side, while L'Arachel, Duessel, Seth, Garcia, Moulder and Franz took the right. Be wary of the Elfire mage reinforcements from the top left, they hit with around 20 atk, hitting res. They could 2HKO Garcia and Moulder. I took them out with Seth. Luna mages appear in the top right, but they are a non threat due to shitty hittrates. They appear from turns 7-9. When you open the door to the tresure room, Shaman appear for I believe 4 turns afterwards, so make sure you can handle them, and don't just sent Colm in expecting to get some easy treasure. Once you open the door to the throne room, two shaman and two mages appear. Be wary of them. Ephraim took out Vigarde with the Reginlief, and Tethys helped him seize. Josh promoted mid-chapter, expect a mass promotion in the next chapter's base. 11 Turns. General Horace
Two chapters in one day, what is this madness? Chapter 15 (Ephraim): New Units: Eirika returns, gaining 8 levels. I'll have to see how she levelled... Saleh - Prepremoted sage with good weapon levels and bases. Very similar to Pent. He only lacks Pent's auto A support with Louise, and the A rank in staves. Innes - Prepremoted sniper with good bases. Has almost no competition for Nidhogg. Still, he is still locked to bows, which sucks. I think i'll still use him because I like him for some reason. Units Deployed: Ephraim, Seth, Duessel, Joshua, Gerik, Natasha, Moulder, Rennac, Tana, Tethys, Garcia, Cormag asdf desert. Note that Gerik, Franz, and Cormag promoted before the chapter. Natasha promoted at the chapter's end. Tana ferried Rennac around to get all the items. Eirika kept trying to get the silver card before eventually getting it around turn 8. Joshua went north with Garcia and Moulder, he soloed the entire area around Caellach, then killed him with a Silver Sword. He then went south to help with the other reinforcements. Garcia and Moulder teamed up on the mage reinforcement. Duessel, Seth, Natasha, Cormag, Ephraim, and Gerik headed toward Valter. There is a berserk staff Troubador here, but it has lol 3 magic, so it's almost a non threat. Seth got the kill with the dragonspear since Cormag whiffed his shot. Eirika took out a merc and a couple fighters, while Saleh and Innes took out all the other enemies that came towards them. I could have finished the chapter on turn 7, but I wanted the Metis's Tome and some other items that I can't remember in the sand. I think the warp staff. A hoard of enemies appear where Ephraim starts on turn 8. Mages and Pegasi appear to the north early on as well. 11 Turns. General Horace
It's been a while. Chapter 16 (Ephraim): New Units: Myrrh - I've never been a fan of dragonkin, and Myrhh is no exception. She does a huge dent to the demon king however, even at base level. Units Deployed: Ephraim, Seth, Duessel, Gerik, Saleh, Garcia, Joshua, Natasha, Moulder, Franz, Cormag, Tethys Gerik and Duessel hung back to deal with the reinforcements that appeared near the starting point. Cormag and Seth took the west side of the map, whereas everyone else went to the east. Saleh spammed barrier staff so he could raise his staff level. All the druids in the throne room had eclipse equipped when I attacked them, so they didn't pose a problem. Be cautious of a Purge sage and sleep staff sage that spawn in the top right corner of the map, they can catch you off guard. Joshua killed Orson, while Cormag retrieved all the tresure except the talisman, and the tomahawk was lifted of the enemy thief. 12 Turns. Also, Tethys got the switfsoles. General Horace
Chapter 17: New Units: Syrene - Decent enough filler unit, decent offence with silvers. Low durability however. Will help out taking out the Gorgon eggs. Units Fielded: Ephraim, Seth, Duessel, Cormag, Moulder, Saleh, Innes, Franz, Garcia, Joshua. Deployed Innes to recruit Syrene. Ephraim was warped over on turn 2, and could have ended the chapter on the turn 2 enemy phase, but I wanted the brave axe and some exp. Syrene helped kill the druids to the North, Joshua soloed all the south heroes, while everyone else went north. Bought some Elfire tomes at the shop. Various stat boosters were used prior to this chapter. General Horace
I could have got it on turn 2 if he one of the heroes had not proc'd HP, as all were one rounded by Josh with a silver sword, except the brave axe guy, who had 41 HP, instead of 40 like the others. I could have got 1 turn if I really wanted, Saleh could have chipped the hero with Purge while Cormag finished him, while Moulder warped Ephraim to Lyon, and he dodged either his player phase attack or EP attack. General Horace
Chapter 18: Units Fielded: Ephraim, Seth, Duessel, Franz, Gerik, Cormag, Syrene, Tethys, Joshua, Moulder, Saleh, Garcia Seth ran towards the boss, while Franz followed behind him a little, as he couldn't go north too far, as he was OHKO'd by Shadowshot, and Tethys was my first barrier staff priority. Syrene and Cormag took out the southeast corner, while Duessel took out the Bael reinforcements slightly north of there. Moulder followed Seth, and killed the eggs he missed (because Franz was petrified, and I didn't pack a restore staff) Gerik, Garcia, Saleh, and Ephraim went along the west side of the map to mop up the cluster of eggs to the north. You generally want to use high movement units in this chapter, as if the Gorgon eggs hatch, they will rain death down on your units. Also be aware of the Shadowshots on low HP units, it packs a huge punch. 7 Turns. General Horace
Chapter 19: Units Fielded: Ephraim, Seth, Duessel, Garcia, Cormag, Syrene, Franz, Natasha, Tethys, Gerik, Innes, Colm, Rennac, Moulder, Saleh, Joshua, Knoll Note that killing Riev ends the chapter, and enemies have droppable Brave Lance, Brave Bow, and Brave Sword. Moulder Warped my two thieves into the tresure rooms, and they looted them. Everyone else except Garcia, Joshua, Cormag, and Innes went south, the other 4 went north to get the brave bow that i'll never use. Also, promoted Knoll because I could, and have over 50000 in excess money, so I could do it anyway. On turn 3, after the tresure was grabbed, Ephraim killed Riev with Siegmund. No stats, forgot to get them. 3 Turns. Chapter 20: Units Fielded: Ephraim, Cormag, Tethys, Moulder, Joshua, Syrene, Natasha, the rest were filler. Moulder warped Ephraim across the mountain on turn 1, Natasha repaired the Warp staff. Cormag, with the help of Tethys, dropped Moulder on the other side of the mountain. Syrene picked up Joshua, and flew across the mountain. All the enemies targeted Moulder over Ephraim, but Slayer killed everything. He warped Ephraim across, and Ephraim killed Riev. Syrene dropped Joshua across the gap, but not in range of Morva. Ephraim and Josh killed some shit on the enemy phase, Josh ORKO'd Morva with Audulama, and Ephraim seized. Anouleth
I could have got it on turn 2 if he one of the heroes had not proc'd HP, as all were one rounded by Josh with a silver sword, except the brave axe guy, who had 41 HP, instead of 40 like the others. Josh weakens on Enemy Phase turn 1, kills on Player Phase turn 2. What's the problem? I could have got 1 turn if I really wanted, Saleh could have chipped the hero with Purge while Cormag finished him, while Moulder warped Ephraim to Lyon, and he dodged either his player phase attack or EP attack. I doubt it. Getting two units to Lyon in one turn? You need multiple, strong Warp users to do that. You need to cross like 20 squares in one turn with two characters. General Horace
Looks like I'm done now. I like how half of this topic was a Wendy vs Ewan debate. Final, Part 1: Units Deployed: Ephraim, Eirika, Seth, Duessel, Gerik, Joshua, Tethys, Franz, Cormag, Moulder, Saleh, Knoll Moulder warped Ephraim across the gap, and he took out one of the Wights in front of Lyon. He got his ass kicked around a bit, but lived with ~11 HP left. Moulder then Warped Joshua across the gap, then with the aid of Tethys, used Latona, Ephraim attacked Lyon, was rescued by Cormag, and Joshua finished Lyon with an Audhulma crit. Final Part 2: Ephraim doubled the DK with Siegmund, Seth used Vidofnir, and Joshua suprised me with a Audhulma crit, although Cormag was in range to finish with a spear, if he could do 3 damage with it. The first part was completed in 2 turns, the second in one. Anouleth
To the second one, the chapter ends when you kill Lyon. Ephraim one rounded. I was referring to killing the Druid in front of Lyon on Turn 1. Ephraim 5HKOes with a Spear, so the Druid in the way needs to be killed. To the first one, I placed Joshua badly, so one hero didn't suicide on Joshua because he was out of range, and the brave axe dude ran away to heal on the fort. As I said, I could have redone it if I really wanted, but meh. It doesn't really matter, I guess, the extra exp for Josh is probably more valuable than giving Duessel a weapon that's not as good as Garm. I actually never really noticed that, that's kind of funny. Although Garcia wasn't all that much trouble to get kills with anyhow. And Garcia was a long range magic magnet as well, which was nice. General Horace
I've been kind of inspired reading the No-Seth tierlist to do another runthrough of the game here, I'll take Eirika's route this time. Some stuff on the tierlist that this run hopes to prove: - Can Saleh reach A in staves in time for some warping? If so, it probably puts him ahead of Moulder. - Artur > Lute - Garcia > Innes. Sure, Innes has great offence for his jointime, but Eirika's Route is full of monsters, which require little speed to ORKO. - Anything else I think of. This playthrough will not be picture filled like Salad Utensil's but I will list out unit contributions in each chapter. I hope this isn't a necro Prologue - 2 Turns Standard two turn clear. I don't have to say anything here. Eirika gets her usual strength, speed and luck level up. Chapter 1 - 5 Turns Eirika needs to dodge 1 attack every turn in order for the 5 turn to happen. Franz and Gilliam are merely there to watch Eirika's back. They can almost get a level each here. I'll be feeding Franz kills left right and center in the upcoming chapters to maximize his level before getting the Knight's Crest. Eirika chipped at the north bandits while Franz, Gilliam, and Ross got the south. I managed to give a few kills to Vanessa too. Gilliam faces shaky hittrates in this chapter, of 67%, and can be doubled for some decent damage. Ross is fairly useless, but I chipped with him a couple times regardless. Vanessa is the only unit that can get the pure water village (as Franz and Eirika should be too busy fighting), although the item itself isn't overwhelmingly important. I had Moulder get the two north villages. Bought Two Javelins (Franz and Gilliam), Two hand axes (one for Garcia, one to spare), a Steel Axe (Garcia), an Iron Lance (Vanessa), and I also bought a slim lance for Gilliam, to improve hit hittrates. Also of note, Gilliam proc'd speed, so we shall see how he does in the upcoming chapters. General Horace
Chapter 3 - 5 Turns Franz and Garcia were pretty huge on this map, as Garcia 2HKO'd everything (except the boss), allowing him to clear a path for Franz and Eirika. Gilliam busted down walls, and got the Javelin in the south chest, while Colm got all the treasure to the north. Ross chipped, and Moulder healed when he could.
