I rummaged through the forums and found the tier lists for both Gen 1 and Gen 2. Since it's been over a year since we updated the Gen 1 list and a year and half since we updated the Gen 2 list, I figured I should go post them both here.

I tend to agree. Holyn is below him, yet is one rounding a lot of stuff with just stuff like the Steel Blade (such as basically any unpromoted mounted unit in Ch. 2, meaning all the Free Knights with Voltz and everything with Zain, plus all the dudes at Mackily, etc.). Plus since Levin has to recruit Fury he's not going to be seeing combat pretty much at all other than the 3-4 bandits he kills, the 4 Pegs he kills, and the arena, so he basically only has 3 chapters of availability (although saving the Bargain Ring is very nice).

Although with the Pursuit Ring Levin pretty 2 shots a lot of stuff and has massive Continue activation for whatever's left since enemy Res is as much of a joke as PC Res. He's got great Avoid even without Holsety so the few enemies that don't counter probably won't hit anyway since lolhand axe and loljavelin hit rates. However, Cuan wants the Pursuit Ring so that he can 2 round in Ch. 3, and since he's freaking Cuan the stuff Levin gets but he misses is made up for Cuan's mount getting him there sooner.

Levin DOES get Staves after promoting, which is obviously useful, but since at this point we have Reserves and Libros for the 5 move scrubs it's not that useful, plus Fury and Lachesis potentially as well, so it's not as useful as it would've been in, say, Ch. 1 or 3.

Lolsety lets him outright one shot the Axe and Arch Knights in 5, but that's about it unless he grabs a Magic Ring, which lets him also get the mages and axe armors and maybe the lance/bow ones with Reptor (although since they don't attack him since he's rofflelevin and it's quicker to just kill Reptor that probably doesn't matter much). However, he does have ~23% crit and 65% Continue, so he still has like a 75% chance of killing... pretty much anything. So Holsety makes him a god for like 1.5 chapters, but before that he's underperforming due to no Pursuit and competition with Cuan and Noish for it (although as mentioned in the Noish topic, Noish has serious doubling issues in Ch. 4 even with it...). However, units like Holyn and Ayra are owning just as hard (just not at 1-2 range, but Levin's Avoid is so high it's like he has Stillness).

Holyn is a little high, perhaps at the bottom of Upper Mid? He has no horsie and his offense isn't quite as wow as Ayra's. I'd also drop Dimna a little, he's stuck on an Iron bow for 2 chapters and his stats other than strength and skill are awful. Pursuit is nice but he's not doing much damage.

I thought that Celice was the best character for FE4 efficiency 2nd Gen? Shouldn't Leaf be a lot higher for having mount+Rescue staff h4x?

Why is Fin a tier above Alec? Even if he gets the Hero Lance for 1 and a 1/2 chapters, Alec exists for 2 chapters where Fin doesn't.

Nobody in High Tier has a mount outside of Midir, who is restricted to player phase combat almost exclusively, and Ethlin, who is not a combat unit. Ayra has a better skill but, as mentioned, both kill if their skills activate; Holyn has a constant level lead, and he's more durable than Ayra even at equivalent levels.

Leaf is not in High tier because of his start, which requires him having the Hero Sword and the Pursuit Ring to get out of it as soon as possible.

I do agree with Celice moving up though and I'll raise him to Top tier.

Syvia>Holyn for now.

Read up on your old Paperblade quotes from FEG, younguns.

How many pages of spambots did you go through to find that?

and yeah Astra is mostly overkill except vs. bosses/some arena enemies, but Holyn has a pretty good HP/Defense lead

I'm not sure why but Jamka > Ayra > Briggid bugs the crap out of me simply due to archers. Is it because Jamka with Continue and a Killer Bow is fucking ridiculous with using Continue? (Continue's what I'm thinking of, right? with Pursuit being the one that allows double attacks?) Then why is Ayra > Briggid, given that Briggid's got Ichival going for her?

If not, then why is Ayra < Jamka if Jamka only has Bow utility? In that case, why is Midir > Jamka and Ayra?

Fin OHKOs Ch. 1 bandits with Steel at no loss, since Cuan and Sigurd 2HKO either way and no one else can use it.

Fin ORKOs like everything in Ch. 2 with Hero since Fury's not getting near combat

Alec is somewhat better in Prologue, loses the rest of the chapters that Fin exists

And then sucks dick in Ch. 4/5

I thought we agreed Alec and Noish weren't that bad in the lategame. I mean, by that point, they're just being incredibly average, not Ardan-level bad.

He also starts with Holsety in Chapter 6, and is essentially invincible for the entire game. Sety doesn't exist for half of this time, and performs essentially the same as Arthur once he actually does arrive, except Arthur actually has a mount at that point. Celice suffers essentially the same movement problems as Arthur, but is a weaker unit in general due to not having Holsety.

I think Ayra can go above Midir and Jamka. I would also put Fin above Lachesis. She's not that great. I don't see how Fury > Fin when all she has over him is flight, but Fin has availability to grow quickly and even good 2nd Gen availability.

Fin is tiered in first gen for his first gen help only, he has his own second gen spot for his second gen self.

Alec should be in Upper Mid under Fin.

Look at the facts. Alec, despite having less than stellar Str and weapon levels, has Pursuit, a horse and nuts availability. He's got B Swords which is good for the Hero Sword, Armour Cutter, Wing Clipper, Thunder Sword... he's going to get at least one of these. Maybe not the Hero Sword (works a lot better on Noish) but let's take the Armour Cutter. Assuming that Alec is level 15 going into Chapter 3, he's got 38 effective Att on Armours. That's what, a perfect ORKO on the Armours? C'mon, that's not Low Mid performance.

Like, he's not bad. He's just not amazing. But his horse has to count for something.

Oh and Noish > Beowulf in my opinion but it's harder for me to prove.

Oh, yeah...

But still, he's not worse than Fury and Lachesis.
