[spoiler=SRW A Playthrough]Alright, time for the game to begin. Choosing the Male Protagonist, and the Super Robot route. This gives us two choices for initial mecha, the Soulgain, and Vysaga. I’m going for the Soulgain for that mustache and so the intro begins…

Universal Century 0XXX.

The One Year War and the Gripps Conflict... After going through those two great wars, Earth has earned some governmental peace. Mars has been succeeding its terraforming, and wounds from the Titans' rebellion were healing. Earth's renewal was occurring in a high pace.

... At this point a disturbing event happens.

After losing their home planet and becoming wanderers, the people from Balm wanted to join Earth's civilization, and initiated a peaceful negotiation.

Chances of they being accepted by the space colonies made the Earth Federation to take easy on its peace meeting.

However.

In the peaceful meeting with the Balmlings, the worst of the events, the "Assassination of the Peace Ambassador", throws everything into war.

In the middle of this chaos on Earth, in the Lunar Empire of Giganos...

Minister Phoenix concludes that this situation was created by the incompetence of the Earthnoids, and declares independence and starts a war against Earth.

And to make things worse, the constructed city of Mars is attacked by surprise by an anonymous enemy, and the Hyakki Empire restarts an advance against Earth.

And this way, Earth is again engulfed into the fires of war.

The Earth Federation couldn't take care of all this sudden conflicts, and only one thing was done, the 13th Earth Federation Autonomous Corps, Londo Bell, was mobilized.

But... The Londo Bell Squad doesn't realize at this time about the hidden truth of the war, about the ones from the "the extremely far, limitlessly near world".

And even that "they" are the ones that breathe into this fire.

Scenario 1 – The man fallen from the sky

In an undisclosed, but predictable location, this is the Super Robot route; of course it will start in Japan, enter Ciarre and Balcerzak, on patrol. They’re here to investigate a fallen object, and lo and behold, it’s my mecha!

I’m alright, but oh noes; alongside the ride is the convenient plot device of memory loss! After only remember my name, I agree to go back with them to the Science Lab Fortress, when cue enemy approach.

It’s the Fortress Demonika, from the Mycenae Empire, and Shuuda himself is here. Looks like he’s after me and deploys the Warrior Beasts. No option now but to fight, since as well know, even with a memory loss, stuff like piloting a mecha still remains.

Secret Alert!

Yep, the game has just begun and we already are in line for unlocking stuff. If Bal gets at least 10 kills by a certain point, we… ah ah ah, no revealing the secret or when for now.

Anyway, time to move north, fighting the Warrior Beasts. My mecha begins somewhat damaged, but the Diana A can Repair other mechas, so it’s fine. On Turn 2, AstraLunaSol (Lv5) in the Mazinger Z comes to help us out, and on Turn 5, Knight (Lv5) and GreenPoet (Lv3) come in respectively the Great Mazinger and Venus A as well. With this much needed help, the enemy forces are easier to take care of. The Demonika doesn’t move, at least, it doesn’t move on its own without someone stepping in its attack range, so taking care of the rabble should be no problem.

Secret Alert!

Yep, another one, and this one involves Knight reaching 30 kills before another undisclosed point in time for another secret.

Meanwhile, Shuuda retreats if the Demonika’s HP falls below 30%. For cases like this, it’s ideal to launch an attack with someone with Support Attack at the ready, especially when no one has yet the Hot-Blood or Soul seishins. Knight comes with the Effort seishin, though, which doubles EXP gained for the next combat-related action, but I’m not going to exploit it by having him defeat Shuuda. You’ll see why soon.

Either way, Shuuda escapes, but at least defeating him nets you EXP and money otherwise unobtainable due to retreating before defeat. He also drops a Booster, which gives a Mecha +1 Mov, so more the reason to defeat him. Amusingly, reaching Lv4 gives me the Newtype Lv1 Skill. Interesting… I can see dead people now...

Anyway, now that the danger is past, we now can go all back to the lab.

So now we reach the Science Lab Fortress, of which Sask is in charge of, and he’s Astra’s father to boot. A medical examination reveals my amnesia is the real deal. You know, just in case there was some sort of lie there. Looks like it’s all big blanks here. Even the mecha, full of encrypted info, little can be deciphered.

Meanwhile the scene cuts to the Mycenae Empire’s place, where Jean-Marc receives Shuuda, as he rants on about his defeat. Guess we won’t see the last of them.

Back at the lab, looks like we’re now en route to enlist into Londo Bell, though we won’t be the only ones to do so.

Scene cut again, now to… somewhere in outer space? Mystery Person # 1 and Mystery Person #2 seem to be going over some plan that encountered some problems. Someone appearing not in the designated spot… huh, pilot may suffer mental problems? And my name being mentioned? DUN DUN DUN Now ain’t memory loss quite convenient here for them, eh? XD

Intermission screen. I have like about 18000 credits to upgrade stuff, which I promptly dump mainly to Soulgain, and a little to the Mazinger Z. And giving the Booster to Bal Borot. It has the least move of all the current mechas, though he won't hold it for long since I'm actually playing this in NG+, thanks to the cartridge coming with a cleared Save File, so his performance won't be as long-last as if this were a first playthrough. Anyway, Scenario 01 is over. Until next time!

Yeah, Family Matters was so awesome and funny, especially with the constant breaking of things, the slapstick humour, and how dumbly some of the characters acted at times.

Well... I guess I'll allow it for one or two support conversations with a female character. And I'm more of a mild pervert (eg: constantly looking at women's legs) than one that's insanely obsessive (eg: hitting on every woman, delving into dirty magazines).
