It can be from anything UHHHHHH you know that's actually, like, really tough. Most things I've played or seen, the characters don't get much... characterization, they don't do much, or they're just not very interesting. All 3 of them are especially common in protagonists, it seems. I could easily give you an answer if you gave me a series though. But above all, I don't really know my answer to true favorite. I guess if nothing else, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu from SDR2 is a really good character. He goes from a downright dirtbag to an actually likable and polite person during the course of the game. He gets a lot of development and is actually helpful in the investigations and I really respect him for that. Also, his English voice actor does the role very well.
