Baldrick
Chapter P - 3/3 You know how it goes. Eirika's level up was Skill, Luck, Defense. Chapter 1 - 5/8 Free Franz makes this chapter less stupid, without actually improving the TC. Chapter 2 - 7/15 Eirika visited the RG village, because she could. She headed near where the reinforcements appear to lure them to her, then south to the boss. Garcia managed to kill the enemies that headed his way. Chapter 3 - 6/21 Garcia and Neimi broke walls on their first few turns, and Eirika killed bandits. On Turn 2 EP, the bandit died on Neimi, the archer attacked her and thief attacked Eirika. Garcia finished him with Ross's hatchet, and Eirika moved forward. Garcia followed her, and Neimi tried not to die. On turn 5, she reached the boss. She couldn't proc one crit out of 4 with the Rapier, so Garcia had to land the hit on him on turn 6. Chapter 4 - 6/27 Garcia and Artur went to the south-east, Colm, Neimi and Eirika worked on the enemies near the start and the snag. After it broke, Eirika went down to kill the south-western monsters, and Colm and Neimi dealt with the reinforcements near the starting area. Chapter 5 - 7/34 Neimi was on village duty, getting the southern and eastern villages. Garcia, Colm and Artur formed a united front beyond the steps, Natasha right behind; they all left their opponents alive so that Joshua couldn't reach them and risk a crit. Then she could walk through the forest (after the enemies were killed on the next PP) and get me a Killing Edge. Eirika handled the bandits from the east, then went to the second-northern village. Garcia and Artur went armour-killing, while Colm got the last village. Chapter 5x - 8/42 Orson broke through, as usual. Baldrick
Chapter 6 - 6/48 The team used forests, the fort and the mountains for cover to endure the initial onslaught. When the cavaliers arrived from behind, most of the enemies had gone, so Garcia, Colm, Artur and Eirika moved towards the boss. Lute stayed behind to get some experience. Artur and Eirika reached the boss first; Eirika used the Killing Edge since Steel couldn't double, and Artur attacked, switching Eirika to Iron. The boss suicided on Eirika on the EP. Chapter 7 - 8/56 Colm and Eirika walked over the river, carrying Lute along. They skirted around the attack range of the mercs to the boss. Meanwhile, Artur and Neimi went north to knock off the enemies up there and provide ballista support of the main force. Murray was tough to take down, but the combined efforts of Eirika and Lute eventually prevailed. Chapter 8 - 14/70 The main aim of this chapter is use my team to clear out the enemies so Ephraim can have a clear run at the boss, and the cavaliers don't get attacked; he's the only one who can damage the boss reliably and can survive a couple of rounds. With 9 strength, AKA a single strength proc, he can 2HKO. Artur manages to get to level 14, so it's time to promote him. Terrador
Chapter 7: This was about as straightforward as it got. Ross ferried Eirika across the river, busted her a path to Murray, and, well... shit died. Joshua and Garcia did some fighting, too, and Natasha got a bit of EXP. In other news, Ross has B Axes. 6/56 Chapter 8: OK, so, battle plan: -Eirika and Ross shitstomp the north -Garcia and Joshua rush west, accompanied by Natasha -Ephraim gets as many kills as he can manage, hopefully hitting Level 9 before the chapter ends. Wow. This worked: surprisingly well. I theorized that a 7-turn clear was possible, but I didn't get it. I really: don't mind, though. No Level 9 Ephraim is disappoint, but whatever. I guess that sending Ephraim west instead of south wasn't my wisest move; meh, whatever. Garcia needs EXP anyhow. In other news, Ross is the best thing ever. 8/64; excellent chapter for me, overall. I plan on going Eirika route. My team. As an aside, Natasha has C staves--time for Barrier spam! Terrador
Chapter 9: OK, so, here's the plan. Eirika, Natasha, Joshua, and Garcia rush west and south. Ross shatters the south side, waiting as long as he possibly can to promote. I also had to burn through most of Joshua's Killing Edge, but I got another one, so it was K. 12/76 thanks to Ross' magnificent performance. He's now ROSSZERKER, and he shall crush everything in his path. Stats: Eirika: LV 15.12 | 25 HP | 12 Str | 14 Skl | 20 Spe | 15 Lck | 6 Def | 6 Res | A Sword Still a complete boss, made of paper or no. Natasha: LV 3.70 | 18 HP | 4 Mag | 5 Skl | 8 Spe | 8 Lck | 2 Def | 7 Res | C Staff She completely rocks, but I should've drafted Moulder earlier. Her better combat in no way beats Moulder's earlier promotion. Ross: LV 14/2.24 (Berserker) | 38 HP | 21 Str | 7 Skl | 14 Spe | 16 Lck | 13 Def | 8 Res | A Axe Absolutely my MVP. Amazing combat, unmatched, Move, and sole rights to Garm? Yes, please! Joshua: LV 12.61 | 29 HP | 11 Str | 17 Skl | 19 Spe | 9 Lck | 6 Def | 6 Res | B Sword He's a fairly vanilla unit at the moment. And then he's going to promote. Mother. Of. God. He'll be almost as godly as Boss, and he'll have rights to most of the good swords for quite a stretch (not to mention lol all of the C15 EXP) Garcia LV 13.82 | 35 HP | 13 Str | 9 Skl | 10 Spe | 5 Lck | 9 Def | 1 Res | A Axe Urgh, you suck so much. Chapter 10: Basically, Ross ferries Eirika over the mountains while Garcia and Joshua try to get a bit of EXP. Very straightforward map for me. (Also, anyone else still doing this, please holler!) 7/85, with Ross once again showing off. Unit stats: Eirika: LV 15.73 | 25 HP | 12 Str | 14 Skl | 20 Spe | 15 Lck | 6 Def | 6 Res | A Sword Didn't really see much action. She did great against some swordies, though. Props for doing all of the fighting that I thought Ross was going to do. Natasha: LV 4.39 | 18 HP | 5 Mag | 5 Skl | 9 Spe | 9 Lck | 2 Def | 7 Res | C Staff Slooooooooooow and steady... Ross: LV 14/3.24 (Berserker) | 38 HP | 21 Str | 8 Skl | 15 Spe | 16 Lck | 14 Def | 8 Res | A Axe He's levelling beautifully. Joshua: LV 14.98 | 31 HP | 13 Str | 19 Skl | 19 Spe | 9 Lck | 6 Def | 6 Res | A Sword Got some nice EXP--I'd promote him now if he were 2 EXP higher, but I'll probably do so sometime during Chapter 11 as is. Garcia: LV 14.38 | 36 HP | 14 Str | 10 Skl | 10 Spe | 6 Lck | 9 Def | 1 Res | A Axe Still kinda crappy. However, thanks to my brand-spanking-new Killer Axe, he'll actually be able to hurt things now and again. Tethys: LV 1.00 | 18 HP | 1 Str | 2 Skl | 12 Spe | 10 Lck | 5 Def | 4 Res She'll have a good Avo growth off of an acceptable base, and she DANCES. Dancer/10. Terrador
Aight, now I'm starting to feel real lonely up in this bitch. At any rate... Chapter 11: Joshua went south, Eirika/Ross/Natasha went east, and Garcia stayed in the NW to wipe the Revenant reinforcements. Straightforward chapter once I figured out that sending Joshua east was just plain dumb. Josh promoted, and he's one BAMF. 10/95. Unit Stats: Eirika: LV 16.56 | 26 HP | 12 Str | 15 Skl | 20 Spe | 16 Lck | 7 Def | 6 Res | A Sword Still a vanilla, albeit still quite good, unit. Saleh: LV --/1.00 | 30 HP | 16 Mag | 18 Skl | 14 Spe | 11 Lck | 8 Def | 13 Res | A Anima, B Light, C Staff Warpbot or no, Saleh is an amazing unit. He will serve me well. Natasha: LV 6.52 | 19 HP | 7 Mag | 5 Skl | 10 Spe | 10 Lck | 2 Def | 9 Res | B Staff Torch spam last chapter did WONDERS for her. Ross: LV 14/4.73 (Berserker) | 39 HP | 22 Str | 8 Skl | 15 Spe | 16 Lck | 14 Def | 8 Res | S Axe He had some lackluster level-ups, but he's still a machine. The additional +5 Crt is a great help--natural 24% crit rate is just great! Joshua: LV 15/2.57 (Swordmaster) | 38 HP | 15 Str | 20 Skl | 20 Spe | 10 Lck | 9 Def | 8 Res | A Sword ...but 25% (soon to be 30%) is even better! Joshua is coming into his own, and although he lacks the waterwalk/rescue anything utility of Ross, his offense is both reliable and ultra-powerful. Garcia: LV 15.58 | 37 HP | 15 Str | 10 Skl | 10 Spe | 7 Lck | 9 Def | 2 Res | A Axe Garcia is still crap. He can ORKO slow things, sure, but he's actually FRAILER THAN JOSHUA. Enough said. However, he is salvaged by his Killer Axe, which allows him to one-hit blick anything he wants. That's nice, I guess. Tethys: LV 2.00 | 19 HP | 1 Str | 2 Skl | 13 Spe | 11 Lck | 5 Def | 4 Res Her presence gives Natasha a far larger EXP pool, and gives me a ton more flexibility in combat. awww yeah da bess team ever/da bess team ever. Chapter 12: Basically, Garcia camps the south, Eirika helps around midfield, Ross takes the left wing, Saleh goes to the center, and Joshua heads to the right. Mad props to Garcia for being a MAN and soloing a swarm of foes like it's nothing. 9/104. Looks like I've borked the 100 mark, but I think I'm still going strong--after all, we're talking about an infantry-only, Warp-less draft, here. At base, I dropped Ewan's Energy Ring on Joshua. He could make excellent use of the nudge, seeing as he's going to remain incredibly useful throughout the game, but has mild ORKO troubles. Unit stats: Eirika: LV 16.91 | 26 HP | 12 Str | 15 Skl | 20 Spe | 16 Lck | 7 Def | 6 Res | A Sword Still a complete boss; her usefulness diminishes as time passes, but she's still good at what she does. Not as good as Josh, but c'est la vie. Saleh: LV 2.56 | 30 HP | 17 Mag | 18 Skl | 15 Spe | 12 Lck | 8 Def | 13 Res | A Anima, B Light, C Staff Saleh is a god in human form. Sadly, he won't be getting any of the Barrier EXP pool, but Natasha needs to promote, like, yesterday. Natasha: LV 7.09 | 19 HP | 8 Mag | 6 Skl | 10 Spe | 11 Lck | 2 Def | 9 Res | B Staff She's Mag blessed and, it appears, a bit Spe screwed. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE promote by the time the desert comes around~ Ross: LV 14/5.37 (Berserker) | 40 HP | 23 Str | 8 Skl | 15 Spe | 16 Lck | 14 Def | 8 Res | S Axe He's still a VERY manly man. He could use a few Spe procs for some safety in continuing to double, but that will become a nonissue when he gets GARM!! Joshua: LV 15/4.18 (Swordmaster) | 40 HP | 17 Str | 22 Skl | 21 Spe | 11 Lck | 9 Def | 9 Res | S Sword He's going to be my resident bosskiller. Seriously, what lives a brace of crits from 24 Atk? Exactly. Garcia: LV 16.91 | 38 HP | 15 Str | 10 Skl | 10 Spe | 8 Lck | 10 Def | 2 Res | A Axe Garcia's getting closer to his averages. He needs more Speed, more Strength, and, above all, his promotion. Tethys: LV 2.90 | 19 HP | 1 Str | 2 Skl | 13 Spe | 11 Lck | 5 Def | 4 Res She still does all the dancing, ever. It's like having a wicked console canto sidegrade for one unit a turn. I really can't give her higher praise. Chapter 13: We ALL know how this goes. Ross took the center, blicking EVERYTHING in his path (seriously, he busted an entire Hand Axe there); Saleh went north for some EXP, while GARcia and Joshua went down. Tethys and Eirika worked together to clear a path to Aias, whom Ross one-hit blicked with a Battle Axe crit. Eh, Ross beats face and doesn't afraid of anything. Natasha is Barriering EVERY TURN SHE CAN in the hopes of promoting before the desert. 2/106 Eirika: LV 17.52 | 26 HP | 13 Str | 16 Skl | 20 Spe | 17 Lck | 7 Def | 7 Res | A Sword She helped a lot last chapter, and got a nice level to boot. Good job. Saleh: LV 2.75 | 30 HP | 17 Mag | 18 Skl | 15 Spe | 12 Lck | 8 Def | 13 Res | A Anima, B Light, C Staff Eh, got himself a few EXP. Didn't do much. Natasha: LV 7.43 | 19 HP | 8 Mag | 6 Skl | 10 Spe | 11 Lck | 2 Def | 9 Res | A Staff She got herself some EXP. She can Warp if an 8 turn penalty is really worth it. Ross: LV 14/6.99 (Berserker) | 41 HP | 23 Str | 9 Skl | 15 Spe | 16 Lck | 14 Def | 8 Res | S Axe Easily this chapter's MVP; he needs some better levels, though. Joshua: LV 15/4.31 (Swordmaster) | 40 HP | 17 Str | 22 Skl | 21 Spe | 11 Lck | 9 Def | 9 Res | S Sword See Saleh. Garcia: LV 17.24 | 38 HP | 16 Str | 11 Skl | 10 Spe | 8 Lck | 10 Def | 2 Res | A Axe See Saleh; Joshua. Still needs a Crest like nopony's business. Tethys: LV 3.12 | 20 HP | 1 Str | 2 Skl | 14 Spe | 12 Lck | 5 Def | 5 Res Still a bellydancing goddess. Chapter 14: Ross goes far left, Garcia goes center, and everypony else charges the right. L'Arachel comes along to recruit Rennac (I was sorely tempted to Barrier her at one point, but I reckon that's unethical). Sadly, Garcia is 1/4 level down from 19, and Natasha is JUST short of promotion. She should be able to promote Turn 1 of C15 with some help from Tethys, though. All in all, I think it was a pretty quick clear. 11/117; Saleh is surprisingly frail, but he's a stellar team member. Accurate 1-2 range is certainly not something I have much of at this point, and he supplies it with glee. Unit stats (note that Garcia got Crested before battle and that Natasha ate an Energy Ring): Eirika: LV 18.09 | 27 HP | 13 Str | 17 Skl | 20 Spe | 18 Lck | 7 Def | 7 Res | A Sword She cleared out most of the initial room to the right; most impressive. Your promotion will soon arrive, my dear! Saleh: LV --/4.50 | 31 HP | 18 Mag | 19 Skl | 16 Spe | 13 Lck | 8 Def | 13 Res | S Anima, B Light, C Staff He contributed quite a bit this chapter, and he's going to recieve a TREMENDOUS chunk of EXP in the desert. Yes, even larger than the one Joshua will get. Natasha: LV 9.90 | 20 HP | 11 Mag | 6 Skl | 10 Spe | 12 Lck | 2 Def | 11 Res | A Staff She's going to be promoting real soon. And if she doesn't start procing Speed, I will kill her personally. Ross: LV 14/7.88 (Berserker) | 42 HP | 23 Str | 10 Skl | 15 Spe | 17 Lck | 14 Def | 9 Res | S Axe The lack of Spe gain is no longer funny. He needs to proc some more speed yesterday. He got a wing of foes all to himself, which was nice. Joshua: LV 15/5.60 (Swordmaster) | 41 HP | 17 Str | 23 Skl | 22 Spe | 11 Lck | 9 Def | 9 Res | S Sword I fed him the Carlyle kill, because Saleh (the only other fellow around) was going to get WAY too much desert EXP. And I mean way too much. Garcia: LV 18/1.00 (Hero) | 43 HP | 17 Str | 14 Skl | 12 Spe | 9 Lck | 13 Def | 4 Res | A Axe, C Sword Garcia is going to boss up the world now. No, not really. But he'll help. Tethys: LV 4.23 | 20 HP | 1 Str | 2 Skl | 15 Spe | 13 Lck | 6 Def | 5 Res Mostly an EXP pool for Natasha, but she was essential in recruiting Rennac. Rennac: LV --/1.31 | 28 HP | 10 Str | 16 Skl | 17 Spe | 5 Lck | 9 Def | 11 Res | B Sword Speaking of, the man himself. He gives the Member Card and a bit of vanilla swordie combat. Not a bad unit. Baldrick
Nope, not dead yet. Chapter 9: 16/86 Artur's healing turns out to be very useful. He also serves as a tank, having more HP than Eirika and not doubled by mercs like Garcia. The aim is to get to Amelia ASAP. After that, Colm soloes the fighters that arrive in the north and the pirates coming over the sea, Neimi and Amelia stay out of range until most of them are gone, then help with the shopping. Garcia, Eirika and the mages assault the boss. Lute leads in order to get as much exp as possible before chapter 11. Amelia is now a 10/1 Knight. Ugh. Chapter 10: 9/95 Throne charge as a group. Amelia gets some kills, while Innes uses up my Silver Bow. Chapter 11: 10/105 Artur soloes the western side, while the rest head east. Eirika and Neimi attack the monsters in the northeast, and the others go south to meet up with Artur. Chapter 12: 10/115 The army was split into two groups. Team Supreme (Artur, Lute, Colm and Garcia) go north. Team Extreme (Eirika, Innes, Amelia and Neimi) combat the reinforcements in the south. Chapter 13: 4/119 If only my units were stronger... when the underage mage girl is equal first in durability, you know you have a problem. Eventually Halberd Garcia, Rapier Eirika, and Fire Lute (so badass, she doesn't need an effective weapon) kill bossman. Chapter 14: 9/128 Garcia was clutch against Carlyle. I know, I'm as surprised as you are. But he does good damage against Carlyle with a Reaver... when he hits. WHEN YOU HAVE TROUBLE HITTING WITH REAVER WTA WE HAVE A PROBLEM GARCIA. Meanwhile, Amelia clears the treasure room by herself. She is actually not so bad now. Terrador
Saleh down and right, Hand Axe!12 AS!Garcia to the NE (with some help from Rennac), Ross straight down the middle, Ephraim to the right, Eirika/Joshua/Tethys/Natasha Northwest (Eirika goes down to critblick an irritating merc on the EP, Knoll to the village, then to a merc that he 2RKOed. It took a lot of luck, some Rapier/Reginleif charges, only 5 (holy cow, I thought it was WAY more; guess I critted most of the wyverns or OHKOed them) Excalibur charges, and 4 Audhulma charges. Terrador
Lots of luck. Looooooots of luck. Also, some Excalibur charges and suicidal Ross/Saleh bumrush down south. And some crazy-bullshit EP 5 crits. E: Whoops, doublepost. Guess the first one went through. Let's make use of the space, then. Eirika: Lv. 18.73 (Lord) | 27 HP | 13 Str | 17 Skl | 20 Spe | 18 Lck | 7 Def | 7 Res | A Sword | +2 Move Gave her the Swiftsoles for stomping through maps later. Ephraim: Lv. 15.06 (Lord) | 32 HP | 12 Str | 13 Lck | 15 Spe | 16 Lck | 10 Def | 4 Res | B Lance Kicks ass. Can't WAIT for Siegmund. This motherfucker right here is going to WRECK. Knoll: Lv. 10/1.16 (Summoner) | 24 HP | 13 Mag | 11 Skl | 11 Spe | 0 Lck | 3 Def | 13 Res | C Dark, E Staff He actually fought personally in the desert, which had me surprised. At any rate, his summons should be quite useful to have around. Myrrh: Lv. 1.00 (Manakete) | 15 HP | 3 Str | 1 Skl | 5 Spe | 3 Lck | 2 Def | 7 Res Myrrh. She's boss. Chapter 16: Rush rush rush. Garmkilled Orson. No swag. Eirika promotes at 20; Ephlame, 17. 7/129 Chapter 17: The Twins charged. I highly highly suspect that Baldrick put his Boots on Myrrh. Not a bad idea. 4/133 Chapter 18: Go team go! 7/140 Chapter 19: Rescue is best staff. Also, Eirika murdered Riev. Yay. 2/142 Chapter 20: Everyone bull-rushes. Myrrh clears a TON of stuff out; Eirika takes the long road to Morva, accompanied by Ephlame, Saleh, Ross, Natasha, and a few people who didn't do too much. 7/149 Final Part 1: Myrrh rush, with Eirika bombarding the right side with her merry men to make things easier for her. 4 turns. Part 2: Lucky crit by Ross was funny, but wholly unnecessary. 1 turn. 4+1/154 After looking at the credit reel, it looks like I five-turned Waterside Renvall, and there was a math error. My final total is a: 151 turn clear Stats coming soon! Edited July 6, 2012 by Shota Sigurd
Terrador
ENDGAME UNIT REVIEW Eirika: Had a middlegame slump, but was invaluable both earlygame and endgame. I never once regretted giving her the Swiftsoles. Tied with Ross for MVP. He provided magnificent lategame combat, tearing through enemies and generally making Eirika's job of "Kill everything that moves" much easier. Never got to use Vidofnir, though... Came strong and stayed strong. Instrumental in several chapters, ESPECIALLY the desert. Overall underwhelming, though having a staffbot on hand never hurt anyone. Her Rescues definitely saved turns. Didn't help much as far as explicitly shaving turns, but he made the whole ordeal much easier. He had a strong earlygame, but he didn't contribute much lategame (barring the desert and the gorgon map). Dancer. Seriously underwhelming; he was really just another warm body who just so happened to have the Member Card, which I never used. Would not draft again. MVP, although Eirika's strong earlygame and incredible lategame came close. He shaved turns from the moment he showed up; from Za'Ha Woods to Serafew to Renvall (both parts) to Carcino to Caer Pelyn to Jehanna to the Desert, he shaved many turns. In addition, he inflicted horrific amounts of damage on the Goat Demon and was my go-to combat guy for quite some time. Mostly just another warm body, but he contributed to a shaved turn in the desert. Last but not least, Myrrh. The ability to fly was INVALUABLE in this draft; I seriously underestimated her power. She made Chapters 18 and 20 MUCH faster; she saved at least two turns each there. She also shaved roughly a turn in Final-1. So, yeah. It was quite the experience, doing infantry and whatnot. Blazing_Soul, I'm interested to see how your run plays out. Baldrick, excellent work; however, I think we've proven that Ross + Saleh is a completely dominating combination.
