sunshineYON
In PoR/RD, We all know the legendary blades Alondite and Ragnell played a part in the defeat of Yune some centuries back, they were blessed by Ashera and wielded (double wielded) by the badass legendary hero, Altina. With the help of heroes recruited by Ashera, she sealed Yune away and blah, blah, blah, ancient story that have been passed down for generations. Something just came to me. The story that takes place in RD is on equal footing, no, greater than the story with Altina in it in terms of epicness and significance, people will be talking about this story, recounting it for thousands of years to come. And during the end of RD, Yune blesses your weapons like how Ashera blessed the two famous blades. Naturally, people will bless their SS weapons, but you have the option of blessing anything, including forged weapons in which you named. It would be awkward if an equally awesome story unfolds some centuries after the events in RD, in which a hero has to once more wield the legendary sword, ButterStick, blessed by Yune to defeat the tyrant who took control of the holy relic, AutoRape. nolongeractivesheep
But aren't we forgetting about how the language of now will be incomprehensible by then? It'd be like the absurdly stupid things we say in latin sounding totally badass because they are in latin. But you know, with Pegasi and Wyverns and stuff. Language can pass down fairly effectively at times and also be translated if necessary. I'm sure it could work decently at times depending on how much language has changed for the game. It's also a magical world so magic can be used to loophole out of everything.

Herons would still be able to understand the MIST SWORD, same with dagrons.
