FEA and chapter unit editor questions

If you change the name of a character in all of its instances by using the "replace all" function, how exactly is the change saved to the rom? Does it just change the byte values associated with whatever you changed, or does it have to save a duplicate of the entire game script with the changes you made?

Also, how can I make any enemy unit have a droppable item? I know there is an option for bosses in the character editor, but what about generic enemies?

nvm about the second question, i figured it out.

afaik it creates a new table entry for each time the name appears, makes a copy of that, writes it somewhere and just repoints it

and this should not concern you whatsoever unless you really know what you're doing
