Remnant Sage
So I just received both guidebooks and flipped through them for anything interesting, mostly for calculations. Turns out that figuring out their base stats isn't all that complicated. I'll list the only sample I have at the moment (because I'm grinding for supports and Fame, and haven't settled on the various parents). [spoiler=Because it looks kinda long] Krom HP STR MAG SKL SPD LUCK DEF RES 52 27 7 27 31 27 23 14 Sumia HP STR MAG SKL SPD LUCK DEF RES 46 24 16 37 37 30 10 25 Lucina HP STR MAG SKL SPD LUCK DEF RES 38 18 7 25 25 23 13 11 Those were their stats after right after Ch. 13. They're actually not that important since we need their base stats (subtract class bases): HP STR MAG SKL SPD LUCK DEF RES 29 17 7 20 22 27 13 11 Sumia HP STR MAG SKL SPD LUCK DEF RES 27 19 10 29 27 30 5 16 Lucina HP STR MAG SKL SPD LUCK DEF RES 22 13 6 19 17 23 7 10 Then comes Lucina's absolute base stats: HP STR MAG SKL SPD LUCK DEF RES 12 5 1 8 4 13 3 3 Which means her additions were this: HP STR MAG SKL SPD LUCK DEF RES 10 8 5 11 13 10 4 7 The calculations are as follows: 1. Parent's contribution = Parent's base - Child's base 2. Total additions = (Father's contribution + Mother's contribution) / 3 3. Child's base stats = Child's absolute base stats + Total additions An example using her HP: HP [(29-12) + (27-12)] / 3 = 10.66... (drop any fractions) 12 + 10 + 16 = 38 (base + addition + class) And there you have it. And for completeness's sake/because you'll need them, the children's base stats: Name HP STR MAG SKL SPD LUCK DEF RES Lucina 12 5 1 8 4 13 3 3 Wood 10 4 4 5 6 9 6 5 Azure 11 5 2 4 9 12 4 4 Brady 9 6 5 4 2 10 7 4 Degel 10 6 2 6 5 11 3 3 Cynthia 7 5 2 4 10 17 6 6 Selena 8 6 1 7 6 6 6 5 Jerome 13 8 0 4 8 5 5 1 Mark 9 6 8 7 6 7 3 7 Chambray 16 9 1 4 4 13 6 1 Loran 10 3 7 7 4 11 4 5 Noire 8 5 3 4 7 10 4 6 Nn 5 3 3 5 6 8 3 3 And maybe a few EXP formulas directly from the Famitsu guide. I'm not sure if the "kill EXP" is actually right, but I'll post it anyways. Damage: [31 - (P.Lv - E.lv)] / 3 Kill: 20 + (P.lv - E.lv) x 3 + Leader bonus (+20) + Unit type mod Total = Damage + Kill Staff: Base - [(Lv - 3) / 3] Dance: 17 - [(Lv - 3) / 3] Promoted counts as Lv+20 Unit type mod Thief +20 Assassin +20 Trickster +20 Overlord +20 Entombed +80 Troubadour -10 Monk -10 Cleric -10 Base Staff EXP Heal 17 (MAG/2 + 8) Mend 22 (MAG/2 + 15) Physic 30 (MAG/2 + 8) Recover 40 All Fortify 60 (MAG/2 + 8) Goddess Staff 100 All Rescue 40 Barrier 30 Hammerne 50 Shoulder Massage 12 (MAG/2 + 1) Medicinal Staff 22 (MAG/2 + 15), use to recover 20HP Physimend 35 (MAG/2 + 15) EXP mods for Staves: Normal +8, Hard +3, Lunatic +0, if Monk/Cleric/Troubadour

Othin
Excellent! YAY! No MOD division this time. Well see now I have to calculate how one could wind up breaking a cap and triggering a wrap-around, if possible. --- Hmm. According to this, if Cynthia's parents' absolute Spd stats add up to 47, she should start with capped Spd. Shouldn't be hard to see what happens if they have even more. VincentASM
Awesome, thanks! I was curious if the guidebooks has the childrens' absolute bases and I had a feeling the implementation would be similar to the growths.
Dark Sage
Good to know all this stuff. It'll be really helpful with planning stuff out. Judging by the children's absolute bases and how the total bases are calculated, it seems like my hypothesis that Cynthia and Jerome are the best non-Lucina children was correct. I don't think it's that simple. Cynthia in particular takes a while to be able to recruit, potentially longer than the other children. Velth
I don't think it's that simple. Cynthia in particular takes a while to be able to recruit, potentially longer than the other children. Do you mean Jerome?Cause Cynthia's recruitment time is up to the player and her map isn't that hard, she can be recruited right after chapter 13 if tiamo also has a child , she can be recruited after chapter 15 if liz has a kid and ofc after Side18. Jerome on the other hand takes longer because he can only be recruited after chapter 15 if liz has a kid and after chapter 17 normally. But unless you grind it's kinda hard to do it right away. Othin
Well, both of them, I guess. Unless you pair Tiamo fast, they're both going to take a while. And I don't remember either of their maps being easy.
Remnant Sage
@VincentASM, The formula on the Base Stats page is a little off... If you don't subtract the child's absolute base stats, their calculated starting stats would be too high. Using what's on the page, it works out like this using Lucina as an example: [(mother's current stats - mother's class base stats) + (father's current stats - father's class base stats)] / 3 + listed child base stats = [(46 - 19) + (52 - 23)] / 3 + 28 = [27 + 29] / 3+ 28 = 18 + 28 = 46 Her starting HP should be 38 (which was observed), not 46. I guess an equation on 1 line would be something like this: Child's starting stat = [(mother's current stats - mother's class base stats - child's absolute base) + (father's current stats - father's class base stats - child's absolute base)] / 3 + child's absolute base + child's class base Which would result in... [(46 - 19 - 12) + (52 - 23 - 12)] / 3 + 12 + 16 = [(15) + (17)] / 3 + 28 = 32 / 3 + 28 = 38 So... yeah. Just a small part missing from equation. VincentASM
Oh dear, I read the equation completely (well, slightly) wrong. I'll have it fixed for tomorrow, thanks!
