Yes, it is miserable in the United States east of the Rockies. X_x; 100+ degrees Fahernheit (about 40 degrees Celsius for all who use the correct units) in MICHIGAN. Blargh. See heat records being set. Ugh. Tornadoes can theoretically form anywhere in the world. It's just the geography of the United States that makes this country a hotbed for tornadic activity.
