[FE9] Marcia Ghost Draft

Drafting:

1. This draft is for 5 players.

2. Ike, Titania, Sothe, Reyson, and one of Tibarn, Naesala or Giffca are free for all to use.

3. Nasir will remain undrafted.

4. The game will be played on Fixed Hard Mode.

5. With 38 draftable units, any units remaining after the seventh round are banned.

6. The final round of drafting will be reversed.

7. Marcia is technically banned, but she will be drafted by an invisible "Marcia Ghost Drafter"

Rules:

1. Undrafted units may recruit characters, Rescue and Shove/Smite undrafted characters and NPCs, trade, Escape, and dig up items in the desert.

2. Undrafted units may not do anything not listed above, including but not limited to meatshielding, building Supports, opening Doors and Chests, and Arriving.

3. There are limits to how much BEXP may be used, and this is explained in detail below.

4. Partner and Other units may do as they please without penalty.

5. Defend chapters count the last played Player Phase for turns if the timer is waited out.

Penalties:

1. Undrafted units have a 4 turn penalty, per unit per chapter (Chapter 17 counts as 4 chapters).

Exceptions:

1. Reyson and Janaff/Ulki may be used to obtain the Knight Ring if undrafted. They may not perform any other disallowed actions without penalty.

BEXP Limits:

1. Use the table below to determine how much BEXP you're allowed to give your units when you're first able to give them BEXP. Characters are listed as either a level (such as 10/--) or an amount (such as 2.xx). You may use BEXP to get them to the level shown or give them the amount shown (Example: 2.xx would mean you're allowed to cap off their current level, then give them 2 more levels).

2. At the beginning of each chapter, you may give your units 50 EXP worth of BEXP.

3. Once you reach Endgame, you may distribute BEXP freely to whomever you wish.

4. Titania may not be given BEXP until Endgame.

Youre gonna want to reverse the 7th round of drafting. That way the 1st drafter doesnt get too much of an advantage.

Sothe being free makes Volke damn near useless. Making a thief free in this game is kinda dumb since its the one game that they actually can save some turns in. It just takes some of the strategy and planning out of the game.

Free Sothe was something that we wanted to try in the last game (alongside draftable Titania), so this is more of an experimental draft.

Volke will still be the superior thief. Sothe never has good combat, and keeping Sothe out of enemy range (cause he dies of something breathes on him) is hard in maps where you'd want him to get stuff (Ch.13 and 15).

I honestly think the fliers can be beaten as long as people dont let mordy and lethe last til the marcia player. And it will probably require a good team. Im pretty sure they can be beaten.

Nothing should even get a sniff at Sothe in those Chapters. Seriously, Volke now has ZERO value. You would be better off making them both free or making Thieves free to open chests.

I have 3 days off of work after tonite. If you cant get people in the next 24 hrs I will join.

But fliers have an innate advantage over the other first round picks. It's like Haar, who can be beaten but you just have to try harder to do it.

They can be beaten. Having a free thief helps them though.

edit: the other drafters just need to be smart with their picks.

That's what I did in the last draft ;/

But I still couldn't beat the fliers. Try to get more creative than that without fliers. Even without Mordecai, they can still beat you easily since they shave turns off of pretty much every chapter.

Lets use this draft to test this stuff. If we deem Marcia and Jil unbeatable after this, how about we propose banning them? Freeing them is out of the question since they would obsolete every pick. We'd need the best FE9 players to all join though.

^what. He is most definitely worthy of a first pick (and by that I hope you mean first round). Boyd was better than Oscar for me. Earlygame neither saves that many turns, but Boyd can ORKO faster than Oscar can if he can double it. On fixed, he gets there pretty quickly with a speedwing. Oscar has trouble even if he doubles. Also I had boots!KnightRing!statuefrag!Boyd (so he can ferry Ike) who can be smited by Mordecai, shoved (and later smited) by statue frag!Zihark, Volke, and Ulki. That's like boots!Titania/Flier/Pally but with more move on the first turn, since thats 9+2+2+1+1. Also there's Reyson.

Let's just test it out first and then decide for future drafts.

If Hawk King and someone else joins, we could start now :p. Start bugging good FE9 players in their walls and make them join
