coolperson1145
So I'm working with some friends on a hack and we wanted to make some custom music. I've messed around with the FE7 soundfont in the past, but I wanted to experiment with the FE4 soundfont as I believe they contain better quality sounds. So I thought I'd ask you guys, would the GBA games be able to support the soundfont from SNES games?
Agro
I'm pretty sure that they don't; the GBA has an annoying low sound quality in general. Even if they did, you'd have to export a shitload of WAVs and sound samples and build your own custom instrument map because it isn't as simple as just exporting an .sf2 file or anything like that. I would seriously just go with the FE7 native instruments or General MIDI because those are probably the best you'll get. That being said, if you have any other questions about music hacking, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do to help.
CT075
the .gba can handle the samples but i'd question the amount of free time you have to actually import an entire soundfont over

I also took some time to import the instruments from FE7 and it honestly doesn't take that long. Now I don't know if there's any software like Gba2Midi that can do SNES games, but I won't worry about that for now.

I just have a folder with a bunch of instruments in it. I do believe around the 100's though you start importing more sound effects than actual instruments so I stopped after that. 2. Well thank you, I may look into that.
CT075
you can have as many instruments as you possibly like but a single map can only have
