not enough of a change to actually make it look different enough, the change should be more recognizable at first glance considering the amount of improvement that the sprite could still warrant. however if you want/like your sprites looking slightly deformed, or dont really care about the sprites then that's your choice and I'll drop the issue.

And sorry, but I'm not going to work on these sprites anymore. So I recommend that you leave them alone too.

You reverted his hair back to the original, and you changed his neck shading, which doesn't actually fix the way it's structured. You simply made a superficial change.

Ana, while your shading has improved, you seem to be really recalcitrant and actively fighting against receiving CnC and feedback, to the detriment of artistic development.

Because I felt that the original hair looked better. But I STILL moved the ponytail so it was positioned like in Kon and ErrantShepherd's edits and tried to make the neck look like theirs.

Yet I tried to do exactly as suggested with that mug. I'm not fighting against feedback/critique, I just don't want to be stuck working on the same mug forever. I want to move onto other sprites.

Also, I don't HAVE to take/use every single bit of feedback I get. You can't force me to. I'll definitely take some of it, but not all of it.

I'm playing with an edit (described below) now, but with Skye there's still a lot of issues with hair direction and a tumor growth of a neck.

For the neck: view it as a cylinder with some (but not a ton) of bendability.

For the hair: think the edges just need to be given some definition, and the ponytail part redrawn for the right flow. Right now the flow direction makes it stick out like a sideways pigtail.

ana if you don't see through on a project of any kind all the way you'll never really improve. if you just keep doing everything halfway, your skills will only ever improve halfway or even not at all. i admit being stuck on the same project is frustrating after awhile but frankly the sprite in its current state looks rather shameful instead of complete.

You guys can do what you want, I don't mind. I should've said this sooner, but I was probably going to eventually work on this again myself anyway. Just because I want to move onto something else at the moment doesn't mean I won't ever go back to older stuff. :P

EDIT: ShinyPichu, see above. I never meant that I wouldn't EVER go back to this. I'm just bored of it right now. Also, you don't need to be rude. Saying my stuff looks shameful is hurtful.

Eh, it's more variation than I intended but here's another 2¢ edit. Most important is the neck comparison. You probably ought to decide whether the guy's ponytail is loose (what the hair says) or tight (what the hairtie point says). Also lowered the saturation on the belt as it was a bit distracting and used a grey for the eyeshine instead of the skintone, just so it'd read. Some misc aliasing/reshading, maybe you can see a bit more polish?

Well, I did say I was going to pm you with the result, Ana, but I might as well post it here for you to look at. What I found out while editing his neck is that the ear looks awkward to me. Well, at least the direction in which it appears to be headed. That would do for an elf ear, but the way he's got his head tilted, and the direction in which that ear seems to be running, makes it look weird; at least to my reasoning, I don't know about anyone else. So I did edit the neck as you can probably tell, but it looks weird due to the ear. If I am wrong, just disregard this, then. :P Oh yeah, the red and blue lines was just me drawing the ears. The red is probably the direction you want, the blue resembles an elf ear.

I thought there was hair draped over most of the ear and wasn't concerned with it, tbh. I guess you could add a stronger shadow over it or pull the ear helix higher.

That's what I also thought: to have hair drop over the entire ear. Within the ear you can easily see the inner shadowing, which tells you which direction it is going/pointing to. But she doesn't have to change it if she's comfortable with it.

I honestly really wanted to get Kiel and Sara out of the way the most, as the horrible colors and shading on them really bugged me. :P They're wolf laguz siblings, btw. Raela and Lily are sisters as well. And in case this becomes relevant or anything, Kiel's hair covers a blinded eye that was literally ripped from his face. He has claw scars there.

I'm taking a break from updating old mugs now, gonna work on a whole new project next. Well, in addition to fiddling more with Skye, of course. I'm thinking I'm just going to go with Lenh's example.

Okay, I decided to update this guy real quick before moving onto a new project. I like him a lot and he was the only one of the three main characters of my FE story that didn't yet have an updated mug and he'll be in the next set of six anyway, so yeah. :P

His name is Leyon, and yes, he's also the red cavalier knight of this tale. But get this, he's a prepromoted Axe Paladin while the green cavalier knight starts at the tier one Axe Knight class. I decided to stray a bit from the usual red/green knight tradition. There are still two unpromoted cavalier knights that appear in the beginning, but one wears purple armor instead of red. We also have yet to see any unpromoted axe cavalier knights not named Kieran, so I thought I'd make my green cavalier knight one. ^^

But anyway, the main reason I love Leyon is his cupid shenanigans. lol Yes, he literally does try to set his fellow knights up on dates. And he's the general too, so he partnered up anybody he wanted! XD

He was never interested in finding love himself though, until he met a certain red-headed mercenary girl who is the lord of this tale. Heh heh.

Like the design on this one. Seems like a better effort/cleaner splice on this one too. I think the base is a Marcus for the armor? Doesn't look like the base armor is really hugely changed aside from some of the trim additions... But it works for this mug. Proportions don't seem off from what I can tell. Not bad.

Some of the shading of the hair and the trim design could use some tweaks if you want ways to improve it.

I think this is arguably one of your best works, in terms of cleanliness and execution. The trim on the corner of the near shoulder could be touched up, and some of the hair as Errant said, but overall nice job.

Also, doesn't that just make him Titania in red? ;) (Or RD Kieran, though Oscar is 2nd tier as well then). Sorry, just being contrary.

i agree with what was said before, this is by far your best sprite

Do what the others said with the trim, i also think you have a problem with the palette: i found more than 5 shades on his face, also you didn't use the darkest shades on the eyes, making it look like the eyes were painted on his face. moved the nose around a bit too,t was looking a bit fake

Thanks! :) Yeah, I did take Marcus's armor, but the big difference here is that Marcus doesn't have the armored collar. Leyon does. And sure, any tips are welcome! I haven't used this mug in anything yet anyway.

lol, I think the only thing Leyon has in common with Titania is weaponry and class. They have very different personalities and Leyon isn't even a Jagen archtype. Bryan, that Halberdier from before, is actually more of a Jagen, just with good growths and bases due to becoming pretty plot-important later. But like a Jagen, he comes in very early, is a prepromote, and serves as some guidance to the lord character.

Snap, over five shades?! I must've missed some pixels when I was recoloring the skin back when I first made the mug. My base for the head was Glenn, I just altered the face...a lot. lol And Glenn is from FE8 which uses a different color set, so... And I knew something wasn't right with the eyes. Thanks for pointing that out.

The face on your edit looks good, but I don't think it fits this character. He looks like he's a manly dude that's trying to be bishie. And Leyon isn't bishie. xP You even made the jaw less masculine.

She fixed his eyes though - They look like he's wearing makeup right now. :P

Nih's also has a better proportioned jaw with regards to his neck and the armor, IMO.
