Luka

The boy didn't have to be told twice to land after seeing the impact of that huge spell. It looked devastating from their location in the sky, so it must be worse on the ground. Reaching back and grabbing a hold of Synthia to make sure she stayed on Luka put Rika into a dive to get down as fast as possible, leveling out at the last possible second to end up next to a group of people that looked like they belonged to Raquel's group. Atleast one woman seemed to be injured.

Grabbing the healing stave off of his back the boy channeled the power of Mercy to knit the wound of the Paladin, managing to completely heal the wound she had recieved. "Synthia, stay close to me and Rika! We might need to take off again!"

As Faatina tried to stumble back to allied lines, it wasn't long before a healing light washed over her. She felt her breathing recuperate as it did, and she felt the dull pang in her arm give way. Spitting up what blood had coagulated while she had been wounded, Faatina turned to look towards the one who had healed her, and seeing the flash of pink, she began to speak.

"Ah, thank you Raquel, I-"

Wait a second. Waitttt a second. That... that was not Raquel...? Faatina's speech cut out mid sentence as she couldn't help but give the boy a confused look.

As soon as Rika touched down Synthia was off her back and taking stock of the situation. Luka had already healed the wounded ally closest to them, so she wasn’t needed immediately… The pink haired kid was telling her to stay put, but really, did he have any authority? No was the correct answer there. With that bit of important information established she looked around to figure out who was where and doing what. That was when she noticed someone who should have been long gone. Grant was walking over, which was entirely unexpected but certainly not unwelcome. They could use some help (assuming he wasn’t just coming to watch, the jerk).

“Hey, what are you doing here?”

Aaand it ended up being the mercenaries from the cultist battle that were doing the fighting, given that Synthia, the mage from earlier, had just asked him what he was doing here.

"I was going to negotiate my passage onto a ship, but then, the rebels attacked," Grant said, just as he noticed a rather strong-looking enemy swordsman emerge from the darkness. That sword looked sharp. Really sharp.

"Well, considering that they did attack my uncle's city, allow me to help your group with taking these guys out. Or at least, with not dying," the duelist continued, as he moved to a position in between Synthia and her pink-haired friend. Let's see that hotshot try to get past him.

Battle: Chousokabe

Raquel hopped down from Phyllis and tried to see what was going on near the violence. There was some smoke rising from the meteor impact area, spells flying back and forth, and a general sense of confusion. She couldn't see who had gotten hit by the siege spell yet, so she decided to focus on doing her job first for the moment.

Shadrak meanwhile decided to take advantage of being highly mobile for a change and waited for a clear shot at the enemy. Once he had it, he sent a dark spell straight down onto an enemy and watched them flail about crazily as the dark energy devoured their head. "That's for whoever you hit just now!" he shouted down.

Raquel dismounted, which allowed Valter quite a bit more mobility. Just in time, as more enemies were emerging from the darkness. One of them looked to be in desperate need of bodily harm.

In retrospect, charging him down on Phyllis might not have been the best idea. The sound of beating hooves alerted him enough to get off a poke at Valter's side, yet didn't save him from his fate.

Shadrak decided to stay on board, which was fine with Katrina. She hoped he didn't mind the constant movement though, as it was unlikely she'd stay put anytime during this fight. The shaman managed to get a shot off before Kat had Volga leap over in front of one of the group's mages. The wyvern snarled at the approaching enemies and Katrina patted her neck. "Good girl, Volga."

Rushing at the enemy swordsman who had taken down the merchent Raquel, Lisandra managed to land a heavy blow, sending the man staggering backward... but not enough to end him, it would seem. Before she could land her second swing, she was stabbed through the gut by the man's sword, and thrown to the ground next to the fallen merchant like a rag doll.

Well, luckily, a wyvern rider guarded Zach, so he'd be safe for a little while. Also luckily, there was only one person who had appeared to have been downed during the fight, and, unfortunately, that was Raquel. Dammit, wasn't this what he was trying to prevent? Blake cursed his inability to have seen his employer before now, and swiftly ran over and struck the enemy veteran down, with one bloody slash.

"We need a healer over here!" Blake yelled, as he knelt down over Raquel's unmoving form and tried to staunch the bleeding. Hopefully the healer would notice the other girl, who had also fallen to the ace's blade, but if not, he'd point it out.

Well, quite a few people got all dinged up, but luckily, those people weren't named Grant or Grant's protectorates.

Try as she might, Lisandra's hand couldn't even make the motion to grip the axe that was so close to her hand. Somehow her consciousness had been retained, if barely, but all the girl could register was the deafening pain from her stomach where she had been stabbed.

One of the other swordsman downed the enemy in her stead, and quickly began attending to the merchant. It was all Lisandra could do to attempt to reach out to the man, to try and do, say something... but all that came was yet another swath of blood from her throat, pooling beneath her face, and rapidly joining the flow from her open wound.

Trying to summon what strength she could from her failing body, she could only reach out to the extent of lightly grasping the man's boot, the mere effort required to give a squeeze she could only hope he would register already too much for her body.

"Is this... what feel... die?" She managed, if barely, as she clung to the swordsman's boot with what strength her body had left. Hearing him call out for a healer to properly attend Raquel was the last thing that entered Lisandra's mind before her her ears stopped hearing, and her eyes stopped seeing, her pupils dilating to their fullest, giving off not a normal shimmer but a dull, glazed-over sheen.

Zach

Good, it seemed at the very least someone aside from Blake had Zach's back in this battle. The woman and her wyvern were managing to ward off any attack that might come his way. Hearing screams coming from behind him the sage managed to see Raquel fall, only to be followed by Lia an instant later .

'Dammit! Not again! No more of my friends die!'

"Fuck off and die!" He yelled indiscriminately towards their foes, sending out another anger fueled attack. The man in armor didn't stand a chance against something like that.

Luka

'Oh no... things aren't looking good, I've got to do something'

Luka was just about to set off to try to help Raquel and the other girl when Synthia told him the same thing, giving a nod he and Rika quickly made their way to the duo. A soothing healing light enveloped the pair and restored most of the damage they had taken, but there wasn't time to do more than that at the moment sadly until the battle ended.

Out of his eye he saw another man that was wounded, doing the same process to him as he did to the girls to help him.

(OOC: At the docks of Chousu- whatever)

Chelsea and her adventures of healing and I guess whatever she was doing before this started:

When the party had arrived at port, Chelsea had neglected to spend time with them as she had felt strangely sick during the last days of the voyage. Deciding to take the more boring and scenic route through the port, when the team had arrived, the troubadour had to stagger onwards to release her trusty? steed Nenesha. There was much rejoicing when both master and horse/servant finally touched the ground with their feet. Most of the day passed by without coincidence, Cheslea reading her light tome and musing to herself that she had to buy a new, more powerful tome sooner or later, and Nenesha happily eating whatever his owner provided him with. It was a nice calm day.

Unfortunately, as time passed on Cheslea had not once run into any of her comrades, but this did not trouble her as much. It was when she was approaching the docks, where the Leverager should have been, when she saw the most ungodly thing happen.

A meteor spell, to be more accurate a siege tome, was cast and Chelsea could hardly believe her eyes. She gulped loudly and urged Nesha to gallop to the docks, in fear for her comrades safety. When she arrived, she noticed that the group was currently in a battle, and she grimaced when she saw that Raquel and Lia were knocked out, and Shadrak was fast approaching.

"WRATH DAMN IT, when will this shit end allready!?"- she cursed outloud as she scanned the battlefield to see who she could talk to and heal at the same time. Spying that Robin had taken some damage she decided to inspect her wounds and question her as to what was happening.

Approaching the archer and taking a moment to get her staff from the Nenesha's side pack she placed her staff on the wound and chanted.

"I ask of you divine Goddess, mend the flesh of this lost soul. Let her fight once more. Mend!!"- With the chant completed Robin's wound was completely healed.

"Thank goodness I arrived in time. What is going on Robin?"- the troubadour asked her archer companion.

Luckily, the enemy spellcaster was quite offended by his challenge, and tried to strike Grant down with a gust of wind. The duelist negated it with a gust of wind of his own and planted a bolt into the magician for his efforts, before beginning to chant a bit.

Synthia unloaded a strong, if not crudely- made gale upon the magician, to which the bumbling rebel spellcaster retaliated with some weak winds that missed Grant- again. It was almost pitiful. The allied wind mage smacked her adversary around some more, and then it was Grant's turn to deal with them.

Grant finished his spell, and, from the puddles of water at their feet, conjured two spears of ice. With all the magical force he could muster, the Ursian launched the spears at his enemy. The poor rebel schmuck was stabbed through the chest by the frigid spears, having been knocked back several feet before finally collapsing to the ground, dead.

Now that that was dealt with, the duelist turned towards the rest of the rebels, as if daring them to strike him.

***

A little hand tugged the back of his right boot almost immediately afterwards. It was the little girl -Lia was her name, he thought-, and she was not moving. Oh no. No no no no no. Her rose eyes were dull an unseeing, despite how much the swordsman tried to stir her. What was worse, was that, when the healers did come, the child didn't move, or heal, or anything.

Lia was dead. And it was his fault for not trying to stop her bleeding in stead of Raquels.

He had failed again. Just like he did in the manse. Just like he did with her.

But, even if he had failed, he could avenge Lia, at least. Honor her memory.

Various emotions coursed through the Ursian's body, threatening to render him berserk. Instead, he marshalled the hatred, the pain, the guilt, and the rage, and managed to rise from the ground without an exterior sign of distress. Indeed, the swordsman seemed almost... serene, as he returned to the battlefield at a slow, unnervingly leisure pace, his sword held carefully in his left hand. There was going to behell to pay. Both now, and after the battle.

Well Katrina had managed a fine job of protecting the mage behind her, but a much poorer job of protecting the guy on her wyvern. Volga roared ineffectually at the pegasus knight who had dared attack one of her charges. Katrina had her stay put, however, as one of the healers rode over to mend Shadrak. “Hey, are you alright?” she asked. She didn’t dare turn around to check, lest some interloper attack those behind her.

The fighting aboard the Leverager was intense. Grenades and bullets were flying everywhere. Gytha had managed two kills thus far and there seemed to be a fight brewing on the other side of the ship as well. Had Raquel returned? The firelight there revealed a couple fliers in the sky who might have been part of Raquel's group, yes. "Hoy!" Gytha called over to a sailor who was hunkered down relatively nearby. He was reinstating his pistol at the time, but looked up to see what she wanted. She'd just finished preparing her pistol for another shot. "Ye think ye'll be a'right here? I'm goin' t' help with th' enemies on th' other side o' th' ship!"

"Aye, go on ahead! Look out for grenades! I'll cover you until yer out o' range!" he called back over the gunfire as he finished with his pistol.

"Aye! Thank ye!" she replied. Once both were ready, the mariner dashed across the deck, keeping low as she did so. The sailor followed, keeping an eye on the enemy and keeping his pistol at the ready, standing taller and moving more slowly than the rushing mariner. A grenade shot in their direction, but it wasn't detonating yet. The sailor caught it mid-air and threw it right back where it came from, though it blew up before it could reach its origin.

Once they were far enough away, Gytha straightened up and smiled at the sailor. "Thank ye."

"Don't mention it. Now go on and help with the other side o' the ship! I need t' get back to my shipmates and our guests."

"Heharr, aye. Best o' luck t' ye!"

"You too." With that, Gytha went off in one direction and the sailor went back into the flurry of bullets and explosives.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Maw made it to shore, there was a blast of hot air she didn't really appreciate. Well, it did help with the drying process significantly, but it was still uncomfortable. All those senseless creatures and humans were coming to make a bunch of loud noises again, too. Joy. Well, at least they were a far enough distance away that Maw could groom herself in relative peace.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It didn't take very long before something began to light up the sky. It steadily got brighter and brighter until it was clear what it was: a giant fireball hurtling directly at the darkened area like a rock from a catapult. Briefly, for a moment, Norbert thought he saw something under the fireball. From his vantage point, though, the fireball blocked his view of whatever it was before it could properly illuminate it. He'd paused in the sky if only because he didn't want to fly into that thing. Apparently, the other rider was smart enough to do the same. By that time, after the thing struck, the others had apparently caught up. Good; they weren't too far ahead of them.

That was when he thought he heard Synthia say something. It was hard to hear, though he could guess it was some order to land based on the fact that the other rider broke into a dive soon after that. Well, looks like he can fly at steep angles. That's good news. Norbert thought. He'd been worried that this guy had to keep level to fly, but he had some practice with riskier and sharper turns, it seemed. Either that or he was just excited and reckless, as his dashing off without anyone else indicated. Sighing and not wanting to think on that any longer -- it seemed that he was indeed on the ground and doing his job, and even maybe got someone to protect them -- Norbert flew lower to survey the happenings.

Some torches were being lit and the battle was raging. Yes, the group had caught up and there was quite the battle going on. As per usual, many of the enemies were finding themselves at the painful end of their lives. However, they were fighting back fairly fiercely. One push made by the enemy in particular was rather gruesome. One of the enemy swordsmen even managed to land a heavy blow on Raquel...who wasn't getting up...

"What?! Grrr why? Why?! Blast it, Raquel, why weren't you standing somewhere safer?! Merz, I can't believe this..." he exclaimed at the sight, rather vexed. However, Blake appeared to be on top of things there. The new pegasus rider also appeared to be helping. Things were fine, as allies appeared to be gathering around her, which provided some cover for their boss. Good.

Looks like that guy isn't so bad. Deciding that, Norbert figured he didn't have to look out for the pink-haired guy and instead began looking for Ranyin...only to remember that the little guy was gone now. Well...hopefully he stays out of trouble wherever he is. I guess anywhere is safer than travelling with Raquel, though, heh.

So, naturally, as he began looking around the battle from the air, his eyes picked out the other one he was used to fighting alongside: Valter. The horseman was riding around the perimeter of the battle. That was a bit odd. Maybe he was hurt. So, Norbert had Rizen touch down beside Phyllis, flowing into a canter to match the horse's pace while she folded in her wings. "Hey, are you alright?" the pegasus rider asked.

Valter had been riding with his bow drawn a fair way back from the actual fighting. He didn’t particularly feel like getting stabbed in the side again at the moment. Of course, that behavior seemed to have drawn the attention of Bert, who was worried about his welfare (weren’t there better things to do?) “I’m fine,” he said, though with the darkening patch on his tunic and his wincing every time Phyllis stepped, maybe that wasn’t the best response. “Erm, not badly injured.”

Norbert grimaced. Valter certainly didn't look fine, as the horseman quickly amended. The last time Norbert fussed over Valter's condition hadn't ended well, though. Being reasonable, though, Valter was probably not in any real danger of dying at the moment, unless someone attacked him again. "Alright," he replied, "You do what you want. I'll make sure nothing gets you until a healer can have a look at you. Sound good?"

There was a lot of commotion, as was to be expected. Raquel's mercenaries were fighting hard and so Gytha began to look for Raquel. Not finding her immediately, she began to wonder if the merchant had stayed behind this time and just sent the mercenaries ahead. It was probably a smart move, though she wasn't sure if it was the best one. Well, that figured incorrectly, she began looking for a target among the enemies. That was when she saw him. One of the enemy swordsmen looked vaguely familiar. She stood there a couple moments, puzzled, wondering where she'd seen him. That was when it struck her. She'd crossed blades with that man before when she was protecting a merchant ship in Ursian waters! Apparently, he eventually sailed south and given up pirating. Good for him. Well, except that he was still attacking her allies. That had to end.

So, Gytha charged the ex-pirate, blade ready. Valliant Stance activated! -4HP, +1str, +1skl!

He saw her coming, though, and quickly raised his sword to slash at her before she could slash at him.

Vantage activates!

(18+1)-8 = 11 = hit!

(6+5)-4 = 7 damage!

He put most of his power into that attack. Gytha tried to parry it, but the blade managed to run down her sword arm. It looked worse than it was, however, and casting the ex-pirate an almost offended glare, she pushed his blade away with her own and stabbed at him.

(8+4)-10 = 2 = hit!

(8+4)-1 = damage!

She managed to cut fairly deep into his shoulder, pushing him back as she did. There wasn't really the time for a lecture, so she just instructed him, "Stop engagin' in pirate-like activities."

Needless to say, he was a bit surprised and after a moment, his surprise grew at the revelation. "Mariner!"

She nodded. "Aye."

"Hell if I know. Someone rammed the boat and is now attacking us. And... Oh... Oh no. Lia!"

Robin took a deep breath as she knocked her next arrow and slowly drew it, trying to focus herself for her next shot.

Robin uses her last Stim.
