It took me a second to realize that all of my units were not with Roy. I had to restart because I didn't realize both of my theives were on the same side of the map when they didn't have to be. Derp. While I was at it I reorganized the rest of the group too and ended up with the groups seen above.

I love these types of maps. It's fun when they split up your units and you have to work to bring your forces back together.

Chaper 13 part 2:

This was a really complicated situation. My highest move people got there first. That'd normally be no problem, but as you can see, the ones that got there can't counter at one range. I also had to wall off Elphin, but I didn't want him to move too far back to sing for Rutger, because then he might not be able to reach Percival if he moved to attack (which he did). I had to settle for Ray. Thankfully the AI is stupid and went for low accuracy/no counter instead of decent accuracy/chance to take a counter. Sue and Clarine had to dodge tank everything. Being made of such thin paper helped with that I guess. xP

It's getting to the point where she has to use the gant lance to do notable damage. Steel lance kills her attack speed and avoid. Slim and iron don't do enough.

Who should I use the body ring on? I'm thinking Thany since Lances are pretty heavy and she only has 4 con. Ray also comes to mind since he's a lot less speedy and suffers AS speed loss from even the lightest dark magic tome. I can't really think of anyone else who would need it.

That really all depends on wether you'll be using them or not, and whether they'll use their holy weapons or not. If they are using holy weapons, then Ray because he doesn't have nearly enough Con to not be weighed downby Apocalypse. Thany is close enough to promotion anyway. BTW, which route is that?

Wow, apocalypse looks really strong compared to the other s rank magicks. 18 mt AND +5 magic? Insane. Much better than the silly str bonus ss dark magic gave in RD.

I'm pretty sure I'll be using them both. I don't wanna base my choice on s rank weapons though, since I will not be using them until the last chapter (if at all). I'm thinking more along the lines of general iron/steel weapon usage. Looking at the weight of magic in general, I don't think Ray needs it much. Looking through my current team, I think Sue could probably use it too. Roy can't double many things with steel. Rutger can also run into problems doubling with steel blade. My first instinct is to give it to Thany, but she doesn't need to see combat as much as the others. Then there's Miledy, who is in danger of being doubled by stuff with a steel lance and javelin. Gah, it's so confusing.

edit: Ummm so far it looks like the only alternate route I've passed is chapter 10/11

Ughhhh this chapter was awful. Roy's team made it through in one piece and got all of the treasure! Thankfully I found this nifty little guide so everyone could reliably get the treasure.

Whether they'd live long enough to get to the locations was another story. I counted 3 mamkutes lurking in the shadows nearby the treasure locations. I take back what I said about mamkutes being free exp. That exp comes at a great price.
