Promotion problem in FE8

Right, so I made a custom Axe Cavalier class for Kyle replacing Trainee Fighter (1), and want this class to promote to Wyvern Lord and Great Knight instead of Paladin/Great Knight. Problem is, I need to use Cavalier class number to make this not happen:

If I highlight Axe Cavalier Seth, his sprite reverts to Trainee Fighter (1) but, he can promote to

the classes I want for Axe Cavalier Kyle. If I use the cavalier class number, the sprite always stays the same, but I can only promote to Paladin/GK

You're doing it wrong.

First of all, why are you using TF1. It breaks Ross' class later.

Use Trainee Fighter (2).

Just make the Trainee Fighter (2) an Axe Cavalier which promotes to Wyvern Lord and Great Knight, and change the TF2's map sprite.

If you don't know how to change a map sprite, see the Ultimate Tutorial. It's very clear.

Well, Ross is a pirate in this hack so TF1 is unused.

The highlight animation's actually referenced to in the Misc map animation editor :P. If you copy the offsets from cavalier to your class of choice, it should do the trick.
