So, I didn't talk about them in the last update, but I obviously managed to take down the gourds. (Also, if you already tuned in previously, I ninja'd in some stats for a proper update instead of just the "note to self" update that used to exist.) I had a lot of trouble with Trigourd, as my only real sources of untyped damage were Poison and Curse damage. I did abuse some runes to make his resistances a little less, but that was the difference between doing 2-5 damage and 30-50 damage. How I needed to do it, was to ambush Flygourd from behind. This can only be accomplished when they're turning corners. This gives you 2-3 turns to kill Flygourd before all three pumpkins are there and they try singing a song of doom. 2-3 turns is all you need, because he has no physical resistances. After that it was pounding away at Hexgourd and Trigourd, which was ridiculously frustrating for my team, but ugh. I did get Pumpkinhead, and Cursed Vine, so I just have Hexgourds %based 3rd slot drop. I guess that's something.

After that, I'm sure you all saw my notes about Fallen One. I did indeed beat him at around Level 78, if my memory serves, so my prediction was pretty decent. I somehow got his conditional, it probably involved him being headbound, which is the only safe way to do it, so... Just like Divine Dragon in EOIII, am I right? I ended up using something like 15 Therica A's so I'm gonna need to farm Osmondo Fronds (or whatever) for the rematch.

Curious, I then went in and tried the Insect, got past his first form, killed all but the main body and one of the claws before he wiped me out with consecutive Elemental attacks. (Note to self, when insect does his elemental moves three in a row it goes: Fire, Ice, Volt. Unless I misremember.) I... have probably got quite a ways to level still, but I've verified that my solution to the puzzle works, and felt out the territory, so that's not too bad. Sand Leviathan just respawned, so I went and beat him up. He seems to really not like dropping his slot 1, as I had to try it twice, which combined with the previous attempts means I had two empty drop defeats. That's just not cool for a 14 day timer quest boss. Just not cool.

Still not good enough for the Insect, though I think I got his main body down to nearly half of its starting value, I also survived long enough to learn that (no surprise) his appendages respawn, and by that point I'd already blown most of my TP and several items, so I just let it end. I'm amazed I can still average 2 levels a day in the little corner of Stratum 6 basement 3 where I go grind. Thanks to abundant Holy Gift usage, I would expect, but still, I'd have thought there'd be some tapering in level gain by now.

Everyone was level 87/88 when I beat the insect. It was like 9 PM on my 49th day of expedition. I will have to upload my guild card picture later for verification. It was glorious. I bought some Ice/Fire/Volt Mists, but it turns out I didn't really need them. I did end up using nearly every Amrita I owned, however. Wufan levelled up confusing Iwapolahotep (no, I will not spell that correctly). Apparently that drop gives Snike his ultimate armor. That would have been useful awhile ago.

After that, I had to wander around trying to find the few damn treasure chests I'd missed somewhere. Now it seems to just be a waiting game. Apparently all of Stratum 6 FOEs are on a 14 day timer. Also, you can refight Heavenbringer every 14 days as well. A Vessel shows up at Tharsis and is all like "The Medium is having nightmares, go help her."

Aside from needing to spawn a Rainbow Pooka, fight the elemental dragons for their conditionals, Fallen One for his non-conditional, and one of the pumpkin heads for his uncommon 3rd slot drop, all I have left are the overworld treasure hunting from QR codes.

I'm confused why my "Beat all bosses on normal" achieve isn't showing up yet, though. Do I need that Rainbow Pooka?

Okay, it turns out for the Bosses on Normal^TM (aka no casuals allowed) achieve, I actually had to beat Heavenbringer the second time instead of going "oh, that's a giant waste of TP I should save for grinding/insect". Nightseeker armor finally unlocked. Hiding under Drake's skin, goddammit. I could have used some extra beef on my frontline squishy. Considering I need a gourd and a Fallen One respawn, I will not be able to 100% finish in Dormouse. :( However, maybe if my math isn't fucked I can still do it in 60 days ventured. I had been spending most of my time farming Crane Ginseng, Waterleaf Lily, Monks' Cress, and Osmondo Fronds (I have more than enough Ambrosia and Grub Worm from my grinding days in stratum 6). I may just queue up lv 1s and inn stay the next couple days though. I'm not really interesting in pooka hunting/book farming.
