Trivialgent
And why does everyone use it as slang for Knights and badasses?
PresidentEden
Presumably from the Mario series of games, which (a) are popular and (b) have Thwomp enemies. I'm not exactly sure where it gets associated as a noun though. I've typically seen it reverse-nominalized, i.e. "X thwomped the shit out of Y." (Nominalization is the process of turning a verb into a noun, so the reverse effect, noun to verb, is at play.)
Trivialgent
No, i know the origin of the word. I just wanna know how it's a meme on this forum.
PresidentEden
Oh. Sorry, can't really help you there. I'm curious too.
Shin
I believe it's actually a result of Horace. He used a picture of a Thwomp on a surfboard for Ardan promoting proclaiming "I have evolved". From then on, it's been used for armour knights.
Elieson
Blame Horace.
Icon of Sin
I wish this was an actual game mechanic. Hell this might increase the actual usefulness of our beloved tin cans since FE is usually more about moving from point A to point B rather than defend (not like those type of chapters have any antiarmor shenanigans on the enemy side).
