Phoenix Wright
well for FE10, if it was the traditional 2-tier system every single unit you actually used seriously would ram their caps by the end of part 3 that would be.....really stupid i know, that's why i said it was more reasonable for tellius. i wouldn't mind higher stat caps if there were 3 tiers. let's say assassin had another promotion in FE7. the new speed cap for the game would be like 34-38, and the balance in the game could fit accordingly too. honestly, i wish a 3-tier system would be a series norm from now on, but i doubt it. awakening certainly has the caps and enough experience in-game without grinding for it to happen. dondon151
RD could have just been a 2-tier system. units in part 2 and part 3 only go from tier 2 to tier 3. units in part 1 are perpetually far behind everyone else and could have just started in tier 2. Phoenix Wright
it wasn't implemented perfectly, but as a player i had a lot of fun going through 3 tiers of classes. i'd welcome it back openly, as long as it's fixed properly. X-Naut
It wouldn't be bad for a game to have lower growths/caps provided it doesn't revert to Gaiden growths or straight 20 caps. The 30 caps 2-tier system has been in over half the games and worked fine most of the time. That said, a game with higher growths/caps can be done right; maybe a 2-tier system with 50 levels (level doesn't revert on promotion) and caps in the 25-40 range (and 60-80 HP)? Of course, that might warrant a more determinate growth system.
shadykid
oh yeah, another thing about the 3-tier system in FE10: having a 3rd tier kinda symbolizes the fact that in part 4, you're essentially the "chosen heroes" to fight Ashera (made more sense in the Japanese version, where Master Crowns were required to get there)
Anouleth
The problem with FE10 was just that the exp gain wasn't adjusted. If EXP gain was more like in FE13, it would have been more reasonable (you can easily get more than 40 levels for multiple characters in one playthrough). The Void
What's the lowest that you'd say the growths should be?
Refa
Karel 210 130 140 140 120 110 100 I do declare it to be so.
