If "U" were Sakurai

The year is 1998. You are a young, video game developer working for HAL Laboratories. You have this strange concept for a new video game. A multiplayer, 3D, platforming fighting game using Nintendo characters. You bring a prototype to Mr. Iwata and he approves of the idea. Now you're a game director of what would become a internationally critically received phenomenon that is the Super Smash Bros. franchise.

Basically in this concept, you get to describe what you'd do to each of the Smash games if you were the director. However, before you get excited, there are a few ground rules of the game.

1. You cannot change the development time that each game takes. Smash 64 was completed in less than a year. Melee took 18 months and Brawl took three years. Keep this in mind if you are adding content. You may have to remove some content to fit your new additions into the time constraints.

1.1. Smash 64 was not planned to be released in regions outside of Japan, so you cannot include any content from games that did not get released in Japan.

2. You cannot change other game release dates. Mostly for Kid Icarus or Metroid, as you can't say "Metroid Prime was released as a launch title for the Gamecube" or "Kid Icarus Uprising was released early in 2007 as a DS game".

2.1. Sort of exception. For games/franchises that were/are only released in one region, such as Fire Emblem, you may assume that all other games, should there be any, be released internationally due to Smash Bros. fame. The inverse is true. ie. If I put Marth in my Smash Bros. 64 roster, all Fire Emblem games released after 2001 would be released internationally. However, if I didn't put Marth in a Smash Bros. game until Brawl, FE7, 8, 9 and 10 would be Japan-only games.

Beyond that, have at it! You can do whatever you want to the game content (Don't want Jigglypuff in Smash 4? Cut her. No one's stopping you.). You can design rosters for three previous Smash games, as well as the future game (assume a development time of 2.5 years).

You can post whatever you desire. Characters, Stages, Items, Event matches, Assist Trophies, Music, whatever you choose.
