Lord of Gabriel Knight
So I recently tried to patch FE4. It was clean, unzipped, using the IPS patch and Lunar IPS. When I tried to run it, the game was buggy looking and only started in Japanese. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Shin
Yes, you're not using a headered ROM. Try applying the patch to an FE4 ROM with a header.
Lord of Gabriel Knight
I don't know where to find one. Though I may have already. DGEmu - Fire Emblem - Seisen no Keifu (J) [h1] This is the file name of one I downloaded, though it doesn't work either. Would the headered rom already be translated to some degree? Shin
Would the headered rom already be translated to some degree? No, the only way I know of to identify a headered ROM is to open it in a hex editor and look for the header.
Lord of Gabriel Knight
Bllleeeerrrrgg So I read up on headered, and it said there would be a gap. Is that gap blanks or zeroes?
Agro
it will be zeroes
Lamia
I don't know where to find one. Though I may have already. DGEmu - Fire Emblem - Seisen no Keifu (J) [h1] I didn't make the patch, but I'm assuming this is an incorrect version for starters it needs to have no tags other than (J), a clean ROM the [h1] means there's some sort of hack applied to it which may interfere with the patch
