StinDuh
Alright so I thought up a fun play through for me to waste my time and thought it would be cool to play log it on here and also include some of you guys in the structure of it. So the idea is that I only use one character for each promotional item (plus a healer), and one pre-promoted unit (sans Seth). The characters I will choose for each promotional item will all be non-promoted when you recruit them (because the point is to USE the promotional item). Only one Knight/Cavalier, only one Mercenary/Myrmidon/Fighter, etc. etc... But I want you guys to choose which characters I will use! Dancer/Manakete will not be used. So I want this to work like pretty much any other pick my units post. I'm going to list each character from the sets (to make it easier for you guys) below. Only pick one unit per each reply, and you can choose promotion path if you please. And whichever Lord is chosen is the pathway chosen (for availability sake). Don't make it too hard for me, please! Character Selection Process Lord: BOTH! (Ephraim's Route) Eirika Ephraim Knight Crest: Cavalier/Great Knight Amelia (pending full promotion path) Franz Gilliam Forde Kyle Amelia Orion's Bolt: Neimi because she's the only archer.... But you can choose her class! Hero Crest: Assassin Marisa Ross (also a possibility for Ocean seal) Garcia Gerik Joshua Marisa Ocean Seal: Rogue Colm Ross (if not picked for hero crest) Colm Elysian Whip: Falcon Knight Tana Vanessa Tana Cormag Healer - Guiding Ring #1 : Bishop Natasha Moulder Natasha L'Arachel Magic User - Guiding Ring #2 : Druid Knoll Lute Artur Ewan Knoll Pre-Promoted: Dozla because GWAHAHAHA Innes Dozla Rennac Saleh Duessel Syrene Have at it! I'll update the post as responses come in. Master Seal Update: VenosaurusRex pointed out that Master Seal is a Promotional Item as well. This one will be like a Wild Card. Essentially just everyone who wasn't chosen above gets to be in the choices for the Master Seal. Master Seal: Shaman-Summoner Ewan Franz Gilliam Forde Kyle Garcia Gerik Joshua Ross Vanessa Cormag Moulder L'Arache Lute Artur Ewan Overview of Units: Eirika/Ephraim Cavalier/Great Knight Amelia Still Class-less Neimi (if no one chooses, I'm going Ranger because I might need the body) Assassin Marisa Rogue Colm Falcon Knight Tana Bishop Natasha Druid Knoll Berserker Dozla Shaman/Summoner Ewan Starting the playthrough soon! Here we go! Play-Log Hyperlinks: Prologue-Chapter 4 Chapter 5 - Edited January 22, 2014 by StinDuh

StinDuh
Rogue Colm your welcome Your not going to include Master Seal? It is technically a promotion item Why not? Now that all the regular classes have been picked I'll update it and have the Master Seal as a sort of Wild Card option with all the rejects. I still need a lord, a pre-promote, and the wild card unit! Please choose these for me so I can get started! Tables
Pupil (3) Ewan for the Master Seal. I mean we're doing a pretty good job of being as horrible as possible so far, might as well continue the trend.
Genarog
Why don't you use both Eirika and Ephraim? They use a different promotion item after all. Dozla for pre-promote 'cause GWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Hamicsat
Any request on base tier class for Amelia? I'd say to go with Cavalier; lot easier to level that way.

I mean we're doing a pretty good job of being as horrible as possible so far, might as well continue the trend. Actually I don't really have the possibility to use "Super Trainee" because I'm using a recently downloaded ROM and it doesn't have any save-files. I'm still putting Ewan down for Wild Card, so choose his class accordingly if you please Or Give Me Someone Else. I tried a Masochist Run Once. I failed. Why don't you use both Eirika and Ephraim? They use a different promotion item after all. Mostly just because it makes sense that way, I dunno. I guess technically the other one could have been pushed into the Wild Card category, but its been chosen now so it doesn't matter anymore. Still need the Lord and promotion paths for Neimi and Ewan if anyone wants to give them. Edited January 19, 2014 by StinDuh

Tables
This is what happens when you do a PMU run. Although you were mercifully given Bishop Natasha, and not Mage Knight L'arachel. And arguably Tana over Vanessa. Also the Lords each promote using a different item, so... eh.

Its also a means to choose which pathway I take. But looking at my possible units anyway, I'm thinking of going ahead and using both lords just so I don't die as Neimi and Colm are the only units I can use until chapter 9, so.... Someone just name a lord, I'll go their pathway and focus on them but I'll use both Lords. Edited January 19, 2014 by StinDuh

StinDuh
Prologue: Turns: 5? I forgot to check, my bad. Not like he needs that stuff. Playing defensive because that's just how I do.(this was actually pointless, I should have attacked.) Why does that asshole have to stand on the forest. Only one level up? BOO yeah straightforward chapter because Prologue Chapter 1: Turns: 10 I have some unfortunate news about the former... Seth has CLEARLY never seen Mulan. She's a badass who needs no saving. Well that's very sweet of you. Can I just recruit you now? How many princesses does this guy get a chance to capture? I hope he doesn't come over here... He did... *reset* You gotta be fucking kidding me. *reset* Strategic fort use helps... Stupid me. Anyway, completed the chapter after mopping up the rest of the team and getting a critical on the boss. I tried to screen cap the critical but I was too late.... Not bad. So about what I said earlier.... (Also where did Tana get her hair color, it is no where near the color of her father's or brother's. Are we sure Queen Frelia didn't have an affair with King Fado and the Twins and Tana aren't actually half siblings.) God, I love how early I get the supply convoy in this game. And on to chapter 2! Chapter 2: Turns: Didn't get a chance to check, last enemy was killed on enemy phase. Why do bandits always have the ugliest facial features? He died. Sorry not sorry Got a critical on Bone! With terrible facial features... comes a terrible name as well! Able to get to the village using only Eirika. (well Garcia helped kinda.... Stayed unrecruited since Ross died but.) Wow asshole, why don't you continue telling me that brother might die soon too. As if my dead father and fallen country weren't enough. That's right Ephraim. Fight misogyny by being unrelenting on your highly unskilled sister! I wish I had someone other than Eirika to use... Oh! Colm and Neimi next chapter!!! Chapter 3 Turns: 21 - I made some really stupid maneuvers that required some back tracking and inopportune vulnerary healing. But I got all the chests! "Childhood friends." We all know whats really going on here. Ah. The two lovers meet. How adorable. Taking it slow, don't want anyone to die. You know, this doesn't seem like the most healthy of relationships. The thief would steal the lockpick, then Colm would steal it back, then Neimi would attack with her bow. This happened like three times. Easy experience for both Colm and Neimi. Feeding kills to Colm! What is with bandits and weird names? Ah yes. Because unquestioning loyalty has never gotten anyone in trouble. Yay for more units! I'm really going to try to train Colm up in the next few chapters. I wanna get the Orion's Bolt early on in chapter six, so he will be very helpful in that map with the fog of war and the such. Chapter 4: Turns: Stupid Defeat Enemy Chapters, I can never tell. Hey! A Ginger! Okay, Mr. Ginger, but why are there two villages in this so called dangerous forest. How dare ye squint at the Royal Princess of Renais! Begone with you! So this was extremely freaking lucky. A Aren't some reinforcements supposed to come up here and burden my back force? Found em. Come gets a critical on the boss. Swag. Me. I don't want you. You're annoying. Know it all. Not much growth for Eirika or Neimi, but I sort of planned it that way. Colm gained five levels and a bevy of good stat ups (that Speed growth). Honestly, Eirika is not growing well. She's low on some really key stats like HP and Strength.... Sigh. StinDuh
phobia, on 19 Jan 2014 - 11:43 PM, said: there's a special spot in hell for the person who picked summoner ewan over summoner knoll Or just for who picked Ewan Chapter 5 Turns: 21 I ain't saying she's a gold digga... I really just want your sword, okay. I tried. You just can't save them all, sometimes. Eat my armorslayer! Such loyalty. Much empire. So brothers. Wow. FOUR units?! COOL!!! So Colm definitely put in work on this chapter. Unfortunately, that meant a little less action for Neimi, and I Natasha didn't get very many chances to use her staves so she's still level one. I recruited Joshua just because I wanted the Killing Edge. My hope is that Colm and Eirika will be good enough to quickly get to the boss in chapter six... I might end up benching Neimi and Natasha for safety sake... We'll know when we get there. Chapter 5x: Turns: 33 - I only used Ephraim. ONLY Did Joshua use to work with this guy? Little princeling doesn't want to hurt the citizens of Grado. Cute. Dafuq you just say to me?! CRITICAL GO!!!!! Yeah, because I did all the work. And it shows with nine level ups. Yeah, I just had Ephraim do everything and solo the map. I think I had to restart two times because I had some bad RNGs against the fighters, so even with ~75 hit, I missed like 6 times in a row and ended up dying. Yeah it took so long because solo and Ephraim and only one javelin. Anyway, onto the Fog chapter where I hope I can get the Orion's Bolt. Chapter 6: Turns: 7 Colm was given a Dracoshield in the overworld map. That was surprisingly easy. So the ugly faces and weird names trend continues. At least he realizes the guy's a creep. Here we go, swordsman tag team. So close! GET ALL THE CRITICALS!!!! You bet your ass I made it this far. Letting Eirika get the kill to feed that EXP. I got to the boss before that stupid spider even showed up on the map. These two are the only ones that came into the battle. They both have low defense, and it seems like that's gonna be a big problem in this run. Chapter 7: Training Neimi Turns: 30ish. I put in the effort to train Neimi, so there was a lot of baiting with Colm and killing with Neimi Captain Obvious. Like Legolas joined the ranks or something. And here we have Private Pessimist. Adjutant (n): A staff officer who helps a commanding officer with administrative affairs I had to look that shit up. Putting those thief skills to work. Yeah, I'm really not sure this is a healthy relationship. Gettin' Neimi those boss kills. I forgot to screenshot stat pages before the start of chapter 8. Neimi was level 11, Colm was 18, Eirika was 17, and Natasha is 2. Chapter 8: The Twins Unite! Turns: 20 Come on, we all knew he was a traitor. At least he's giving us compliments. No, the person with the same facial features and hair color is not your brother. Nah, I'll take my chances with living. Honestly a pretty good chapter. Colm is level 20 but I get the ocean seal next chapter so we're good there. Everyone else, besides Natasha, is getting higher in the teens. Chapter didn't take too long, but it was lengthened by my choice to send Eirika west to meet her brother. All in all, not a bad go. Not a bad looking team. Too bad I'm about to lose Eirika. Chapter 9: Two New Recruits! Turns: 40 - Really I didn't know it took this long. It didn't seem this long at all. FOLLOW THE BLUE HAIRED LANCE MASTER Ugly face and weird name. The Bane of my fucking existence. That's what I'm talking about. We're up to 6 whole units!! I wish i had more chances to train Amelia, but three level ups isn't bad. Tana needs some attention as well. Hopefully, Neimi will promote in a chapter or two. I need to keep Ephraim and Colm behind so they don't steal EXP.... Chapter 10: This Chapter was Uneventful Seriously, this chapter sucked. Its an awkward chapter and its a survive chapter. So I literally just wasted time up in the corner and let Duessel be a wall down south and hold his own. I recruited both of them and got Cormag's second Elysian Whip. Unneeded but cool. So yeah, Turns: 10 because that's how many it takes. They just introduce countries like they're nothing in this game. Has Carcino ever been mentioned before this point? General Obvious asks the questions that literally make the basis for the first half of the game. And gets called out for it. How old are these people? Selena looks old enough to be Cormag's mother to me. Duessel is overpowered. There's no question about it here. This was the entire chapter. I still love Lyon. Seems safe. Didn't get nearly enough training that I wanted for Tana and Amelia. Hopefully I can do better next chapter... Chapter 11: God Damn It Long story short: I tried really hard to beat this chapter with the units I had, and mostly that meant bringing only Ephraim and Colm. Unfortunately, though, no matter how hard I tried or what different strategy I used, I couldn't ever remain lucky enough to keep Ephraim, Colm, and Dozla alive until the end. For that reason, I brought along Duessel, and I'm adding him to my team, at least for now. Turns: 11 Ephraim, you're not very experienced. I hate you. Your ugly face and ugly name. Ugh. *Insert 5000 resets and different strategies here* I tried to keep her alive. But eh. Clean up! Well dig dog diddily. Finally. Only Duessel's stats went up, so only Duessel has his listed Edited January 30, 2014 by StinDuh
