If you stop to think it, how to explain it on a scientific way without using any other math method, without saying "it's intuitive"? We can't explain it like x=2 when 2x+3=7, where we can use basic algebra to explain. 1+1=2 is so basic, so trivial, that explaining it is a difficult measure. He's narrating everything, and he's the character we see the thoughts of most. I don't mind, Trevor's cool, but it feels odd. Guess it gives the arc a unique feel.
