No one answered my question earlier... well, not that anyone could anyway.

Even they might be oldschool, they're just annoying to me.

  1. They cost lots of times (bad for speedrunners).
  2. They screw you, if you're on low health and you almost have beaten the dungeon. It's really a pain in the ass in Dragon Quest II since I can only carry a limited number of vulneraries in early game. In one single dungeon I run out of them. Whenever I want to return to a town to restore my supply, a random encounter gets me.

If it was a custiomized option (as it's the case in BD apparenty), it'd be fine for everyone.

1. Actually... speedrunners know how to manipulate the rng. I can show you a speedrunner who does this if I need to.

2. But this is situational, it's definitely unfortunate, but this doesn't happen in every game with random encounters

what hell no

You're bad and you're too round! >(

Yes, you know it's true.

I'm good and sharp though. ;)

maybe not
Then they should bring torches. You should be prepread for situations like this anyways.

You know by saying being prepared goes against what you said before

Which is you?

no

and now im questioning why

Though this brings me to a question really anyone can chime in on.

What is the difference between a random encounter, and a touch encounter you can't get away from?

isnt a difference being you're forced to fight in the touch encounter?

no chance in fleeing

what got this on your mind?
