They have a lifespan of approximately 8000 years. A half manakete has half a full manakete's lifespan and normally ages twice as fast. A quarter manakete has 1/4 the lifespan of a full blood manakete, etc. However, a partial manakete will age at human speed for a while, then stop until the ratio matches up (i.e. if they stop at 9, they will remain stopped until they are 9 x 50 = 450 years old, if they stop at 15 they will begin growing again at 15 x 50 = 750). When they resume, it will be at the speed determined by the amount of dragon blood. This is all to account for people like Roy or Nah. That's the bare bones. I'd say either IV or IX, IX got me into the series and is very gameplay oriented, and IV is pretty easy until the Marquis de Leon shows up to tell you playtime is over. Though most of the games I've played have one of those somewhere (aforementioned Marquis de Leon, Murdaw, Dhoulmagus, Master of Nu'un; actually, V is the only one I've played where I can't think of one...)
