TBF though few characters actually have a particularly high Def growth (the only ones that do are the fighters in Book 1)...though even among crappy Def growths 10% is pretty pathetic. Though he does have a somewhat high base Def. Lol. That's hilarious. Yeah FE1/3 have some funny stuff going on with it's growths/stats. Like everyone thinks of Navarre of starting the "Myrmidon archetype" by having highed speed and lower strength than most mercs, but he actually has a higher Str and Spd growth than Ogma. And everyone has a 3% Res growth. Because reasons. Also Book 1 Est's bases aren't actually that terrible. She actually has higher base Speed than Book 1 Arran, and she has a high enough Wlv to use the Regalia (which give doubled EXP in FE3).
