Soledai Posted December 26, 2014 Share Posted December 26, 2014 (edited) Their max power is eclipsed by pretty much everything Even the strongest WAND is stronger than max skill fisticuffs. And wands aren't even used for melee characters, they are for casters to keep the MP flowing. Their one advantage (more avoid) is set aside by the fact Staves do that too, with more power. Think so.Swords are the best melee weapon type, because of one reason: ÜBER FALCON BLADE. I guess regular Falcon Blade is good but not AS good. Metal Slash + (Über) Falcon Blade is godly for grinding. However, in the back line, they are eclipsed by bows, as they are not affected by lineup. Speaking of Metal Slash, Metal Slimes (in the Quarentomb), Metal Medleys (in the BAD CAVE), and Liquid Metal Slimes (in the Bowhole) are easier to find in this game than other installments, due to how encounters work. Doubly so if you have Vanish (from the Ranger skill tree). Run around avoiding encounters until you spot one, and make a mad dash. Doesn't take too long.
