DodgeDusk
I think the worst thing that has happened to my teeth is that needle thing they used to remove plaque from them. Otherwise, I've been fine. Which shouldn't be the case, considering I'm British

Nobody
Ughh, sounds painful. I am still 16, so I will eventually have to pull my future wisdom teeth too. (P.S Mine haven't grown yet XD) You don't necessarily have to remove them I think the worst thing that has happened to my teeth is that needle thing they used to remove plaque from them. Otherwise, I've been fine. Which shouldn't be the case, considering I'm British why do british people generally have bad teeth? Like is this true and why and if not, where does the stereotype come from?

DodgeDusk
why do british people generally have bad teeth? Like is this true and why and if not, where does the stereotype come from? To both of your questions: I have no idea. A quick article on Cracked says the standard of "decent" teeth differ between USA and UK; we don't find non-white or crooked teeth as unappealing. It also says that apparently we have the best teeth in the world

Tryhard
why do british people generally have bad teeth? Like is this true and why and if not, where does the stereotype come from? "A study performed by OECD, an international economic organization, on the state of dental hygiene in developed countries has concluded that the British have the very best teeth in the entire world, with an average of just 0.6 of a tooth decaying per citizen. Not just "not the worst"--the absolute fucking best!" - to be fair, this is in terms of children's teeth, though. Generally I think the stereotype came from the fact that the British rich used to chew on sugar and such - bad teeth was technically a sign of success in the past. LuxSpes
I've heard due to lack of fluoride in the water supply. This is a wrong assumption. I heard a lot of fluoride facts recently cause they've been trying to put in our water supplies. Apparently, most research show that the positive effects of fluoride in water are negligible and that in the long term, city that had fluoride in their water started to have more dental problem in their population. Also, the fluoride they put in water is industrial waste, not medicinal, so I'm happy I'm not drinking that from the tap >v>
