at least you're not arguing on gamefaqs instead of sleeping

I mean, it's a classy argument, not everyone telling others to fuck off, but still... it's gamefaqs

Yeah, it's fine insulting people and acting like an asshole in an arguments when you know the other party can't get to you physically, but if you do the same in the face of someone...

put some hot water in the ize tray and wait a while

Wait, why hot water? Wouldn't cold water be better? (also I heard that hot water often has more impurities than cold water, so it's always better to use cold water if you plan on consuming it later)

That doesn't make sense

Cold water freezes faster. It has to lose less energy

Pretty much this. While the heat from the hot water would be leeched out faster at higher temperatures (due to how transferal of heat energy works) it takes more time because once it reaches the temperature of the cold water it cools at the same rate. In short, it takes more time purely because it is hotter.

Just did a bit of googling and apparenlty, hot water does freeze faster than cold water in some circumstances. It's called the Mpemba effect.

An hypothesis that was brought up was that the covalent links between water molecules are more stretched when the water is hotter thanks to the molecules moving away from one another. The fact that these links are stretched apparently makes it easier for them to give up their energy and thus make the water drop in temperature.
