Magical Glace
So, I've talked about this in the Hello, Hi, Hey thread awhile and said I would post the playlog, so it's time to be true to my word. For those of us not there, the general gist is I... hacked the game to give every player unit 1 Con and pretty much every enemy 20. JOY! [spoiler=PROLOGUE: I SUCK ENOUGH TO TAKE 13 TURNS] Since it’s forced in LM… Oh, Fire. Turn 1: That’s -4 AS w/ an Iron Sword. What made me think this was a good idea? Meanwhile, Enemy Con is ridiculous. Let’s just stay here for now… Turn 2: Nothing happened but that bandit came closer. Also remind me to download an older VBA on this PC. This is sloooow compared to 1.7.2. Turn 3: See Turn 2. Turn 4: She can’t double. Of course. Turn 5: Mmkay. LHM so easy. LNM on the other hand… Turn 6: Gotta get close! Turn 7: I can’t believe I did not do this sooner. Gotta fight Batta! During E-phrase. Glaceon Mage. The almighty… archer with the worst affinity in the game (Ice) that becomes a Blade Lord. I am not even sure why I’m an Archer in that hack. I guess it has got something to do with my Archer-Harem. Turn 8: Dodging 48s. Normally decently reliable, but Gotta be careful! Turn 9: Yep. Turn 10: Vulnerary time! Turn 11: Again… Next blow will kill him. Not wasting another Vulnerary. Speed! And Str but Spd is much needed atm. Turn 12: Finally. Ha. Turn 13: Finally. Did I seriously just take 13 turns on the Prologue? My tactics ratings suck and even I know I can do better. Oh, well.

Eliwood Hard mode You finally made the play Glac-chan! ^_^ *insta-followed* Also, I predict there will be tons of Marcus and Oswin usage. :D and no fighters of course she made this to approve Eliwood has something over Hector
ZemZem
Wow, I just noticed every unit of yours has 1 CON. Haha, I'm slow. STR and SPD are key, as well as iron and slim weapons. Bows are helpful, too.

Then again, she's doing EHM instead of HHM so yeah :D

Xtremekiwi
This looks like it's going to be painful, especially later once enemy heroes, high speed myrms and swordmasters enter the fray.

Sword units are the most valuable in this hack.

Xtremekiwi
Why can't I get quotes to work? I click the quote button, but the quote doesn't appear. Anyway, a response to Klok's comment: Silver lance wielding paladins? Swordslayer-wielding berserkers? I think in those regards swords are not the best option. I agree, swords are awesome, but they're not 100% universal. Lances and axes have their uses too that swords might have trouble with. :P Also, thought that HM in general gave enemies decent buffs. I agree, swords are awesome, but they're not 100% universal. Lances and axes have their uses too that swords might have trouble with. :P Also, thought that HM in general gave enemies decent buffs. In a normal playthrough where every weapon didn't weigh you down no matter what, then yes lances and axes would be great to have and more preferable. But in this hack, even an iron sword will make you lose 4 AS. That's enough to get doubled if you and the enemy has the same speed. With Lances, you lose 7 AS using an Iron Lance... Javelins, you lose 10. Now imagine axes; an iron axe will make you lose 9 AS. You'll be lucky if you are able to even double a soldier with that. A hand axe will be 11 AS gone... That's why I say Swords are one of the most valuable since they are the type that allows you to retain your AS the most. Your axe units will pretty much get doubled for the early game, and even more so, Marcus will be your savior as your mobile tank. I haven't gotten far on HHM with this hack yet, but I can tell you that some maps are going to be terrible... Peg Knights are extremely scary, as they are essentially flying lance myrms that can use Steel lances unhindered...

Basically, what John said. In context of this hack, which he is playing, Swords are an essential weapon type. Though I admittedly dislike axes with a burning passion, Swords have their uses in vanilla as well (especially if we're talking FE6). A lance stuggles early, especially in EM, and axes have a really hard time landing blows on dang myrmidons. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, even if in my own expirence, Sword/Bow/Anima weilders generally do best. Speaking of anima, Pent lost one of his advantages over Erk (I prefer Erk for a more legit affinity anyway, though Pent had some pretty good con by mage standard.) Xtremekiwi
I was talking not just in the context of this hack, but in FE7 in general. Yes, in this hack swords are definitely going to be the most useful weapon type.
Magical Glace
[spoiler=IN WHICH KENT SITS IN A CORNER AND THINKS ABOUT HIS LIFE WHILE LYN AND SAIN DO EVERYTHING] You know Im probably just going to give his Iron Sword to Sain Kents affinity is my second-least favorite and Sains Str seems pretty good. Probably going to be doubled like crazy, though. 2 AS w/Iron Sword, 0 w/ Iron Lance. Then again they both have 0 w/ Iron Lance. Not as bad as your typical Axe wielder, so eh. Missed the Screenshot, but they attacked each other. I get a lot of levels like this. Turn 2: I moved Sain to a forest and he got attacked during E-Phrase. The forest is OP. Turn 3: This is getting easy. EHM cant come sooner. The setup. Also I dunno what was up with VBA before. Its working fine now :\: All that happened E-Phrase was Lyn got attacked and I forgot to Screenshot. Turn 4: Will do! And he didnt even level. Turn 5: LM is so easy. Even like this. The heck. VBA is slowing down again. I take back my earlier statement. This is infuriating. The weird part is the Speed up key works fine, but makes VBA move too fast for good Screenshots. Oh well, gotta suck it up. . Turn 6: Mmkay. I hate the lack of Supports in LM. And VBA fixed itself :o This is weird. Then after I typed that it unfixed. Perhaps it needs to be on top of iTunes? Good Speed welcome. Also it seems like Word is the cause of my VBA trouble. Idk why, but when the window behind VBA is iTunes, it works with no problem. When its Microsoft Word, it slows down. Welp. Advance! I hope he takes less time than Batta. Turn 7: TBH this is all that happened and it was E-Phrase. Turn 8: Eh, Okay. He can still take one more hit without dying. Or I can just do this. Yes, well, lifes tough. This is a pretty Strong Lyn. Maybe shell double soon.
