so you see that thing in the bottom left corner? That's your cherry meter, they determine the max amount of points you get when you collect point items. you raise it by shooting things, grazing things, and collecting unique PINK items, you lose cherry by bombing and dying.

Also, above the cherry meter is a quickly filling thing. Once it gets to, iirc, 5000, you get a SUPERNATURAL BORDER, which counts as a temporary free hit/bomb clear. letting it run it's course gives you a point bonus though.

Ask one of the better Touhou knowing people for more info.

border breaking, that is pressing bomb or getting hit, does, iirc. So there. Hope that clears things up?

well it seems that when I kill fairies with the border they don't drop things so I assumed that I autocollect things. But thank you for clairiying

UFO is one of those "difficult but awesome" games, like monster hunter and dark souls.
