NekoKnight
Has any one brought up that it might have to do with the dragon vein ability? If it changes the environment you might need to have physical contact with the environment or at least like to be in contact with it anyway. Cool theory. Personally, I don't think the lack of shoes is simply a design choice. I suspect it will have something to do with their Manakete ancestry. Perhaps this new dragon type pokemon has an earth affinity and needs contact with it to transform.
Book of Ereshkigal
Yeah, I got the vibe Kamui was barefoot to look... 'wild' I guess.
Shadow Knight
This is probs bc he/she's a shapeshifter. But personally I hope reclassing solves this problem. It's not a super major issue but to be honest it looks ridiculous on the male, and even more ridiculous on the female. I don't want to go through the game staring at a deformed woman with two left feet. The dancing jokes are starting to get old. Book of Ereshkigal
...Fairly sure the ingame model won't have the two left feet issue. I hope. Edited April 5, 2015 by L95

Tsunami922
Now I'm curious to see if she actually does have two left feet in-game. Maybe it was intentional?
thecrimsonflash
...Fairly sure the ingame model won't have the two left feet issue. I hope. we can only hope that was an accident but deep down inside we know it wasn't
PhoenixX
Why? Because he's a strong independent dragon who don't need no shoes
Aurath8
Kamui doesn't want to wear shoes? OK, whatever. That's probably not a good idea on the battlefield but that's his/her decision. Here's the thing that bothers me though; the guy (/girl) that doesn't wear shoes, for some reason feels the need to wear gloves. And not big gauntlets or something that might have a purpose, just thin, black gloves. Maybe the whole thing is just some kind of fashion statement? Kamui does wear armor over the rest of the arm, which essentially serves the same purpose as a gauntlet. Also even thin gloves are useful to have when wielding a weapon, as evidenced by fencers, medieval soldiers and pretty much every other Fire Emblem character ever. Out of the 50ish characters in Awakening, I think only around 11 of them don't wear gloves/fingerless gloves, and only Vaike, Basilio, Donnel and Say'ri are supposed to use conventional weapons. goodperson707
^ and they fit them. Vaike and bassilo don't need no flimsy gloves, donnel doesn't have any as a villager. And syari is form a different culture I guess? Ok maybe not sayri.
TKHikaru13
Has any one brought up that it might have to do with the dragon vein ability? If it changes the environment you might need to have physical contact with the environment or at least like to be in contact with it anyway. This is exactly what I was thinking. Kamui goes barefoot have physical contact with the ground, and thus access their dragon vein ability. If they put on shoes, they'd have to find some other way of activating the ability, which could take a lot longer time wise. Go barefoot and you've got instant access. It is worth noting that Kamui isn't completely barefoot, the tops of their feet are mostly covered while the soles are left bare.
