Question about DLC

Recommended Posts

So I have a digital copy of Awakening from buying the limited edition 3DS, and I bought most of the DLC. If I were to get a physical copy for my husband for him to play on my 3DS, would he still be able to access the DLC I bought on my digital copy?

It's tied to your NNID, actually, so you'd keep it even through a system transfer. You can have as many physical copies of the game as you want and they'll all work just fine.

Having both physical and digital also does nothing to mess up save data, so don't worry about that either (they're both completely separate). The only drawback is that since you're both using the same 3ds, you won't be able to Streetpass eachother.

I can vouch for this as I did it when I upgraded from a normal 3DS to a XL and it transfered all the DLC as well and I was using a physical cart.

I'm not really worried about streetpassing him, mostly because I know he'd just look at my team and lolnope out of there hard :P (Yay for having maxxed out level 20 sorcs with LB/armsthrift/forged Aversa's Night alongside two rally bots and need I go on any more?) And that's excellent to hear if I upgrade to a N3DS, although I have a soft spot for my first 3DS so I don't know if I'll do a system transfer or just keep that N3DS to streetpass myself with eventually.
