I know i decided some of my skills based on his classes. I dunno if Brady would have had Axebreaker if I didn't choose my classes beforehand, for instance.

all my units would've been Brides/DreadFighters because of acceptable speed to prevent getting doubled by threatening classes, and enough Def+Res to force difficult options one way or the other

Except for Sorcerer(s)

YEA that beastkiller and Hammer forge surprised me at their incredible accuracy

Kinda thinking that we should either:

  • Ban Aversa's Night forges (but I guess allow Nosferatu forges, since -8 MT and -10 HIT make Nosferatu far less threatening
  • Ban certain defensive skills/skill combinations on Sorcerers, like Renewal

Renewal is pretty threatening to the metagame in general, I'd say.

Vengeance is another incredibly potent skill; comparable to Aggressor and possibly even more effective tbqh.

I think Renewal is more threatening in MAX STATS, where everybody recovers 24 HP and has the durability to back it up.

in Averages, you're looking at (non-child units) Kellam, Sumia, Lissa, Maribelle, Cherche and Robins. Other than Robins, the durability on them isn't exactly stellar, especially in the speed department. Getting doubled by magic would pretty much decimate Kellam/Cherche in averages, and Lissa/Maribelle have paperdefence

Kellam and Cherche recover a decent chunk, and Robin arguably, but that's still like 20 HP, when they're being doubled by magic and/or effective weaponry in their better classes

Miriel and Kids are arguably good sorcerers in Averages

I'd be all for working on a new Max and Avgs meta that include the rules for:

Max Stats:

Forging for Aversa's Night is not allowed

Renewal is banned

Avg Stats:

Forging for Aversa's Night is not allowed

I'd still allow Nosferatu. -8 MT is huge in both metas

also they had minimum accuracy, people just don't really dodge without breakers in this meta

I can't quite agree with this.

All of the following have shown to affect hit rates enough to matter:

- Lucky Seven (+20 hit/avo up to the seventh turn included)

- Quick Burn (+15 on the first turn and slowly declining)

- Titania's Axe (+10 when on the receiving end)

- Charm / Demoiselle

- Weapon Triangle, seriously, axes lose 25 hit when facing a sword user (-15 hit by virtue of weapon triangle disadvantage and another -10 from losing their A rank bonus)

So you can potentially lose like 80 hit/avo if your team doesn't care much much about hit/avo relations and the other team really invests in it and tries to make the most of the first critical turns.

Anyway, I'm not so sure about the banning of Renewal. There's so much destructive potential that having really good recovery and turn-by-turn tactics to make use of it appropriately seems clever and very necessary. I think that's one thing this match has demonstrated so far.

Aversa's Night is another discussion, but a Sorc is pretty easy to double by a wide range of units if you ask me. Players could prepare for them better, tbqh.

The only problem I see with it is the possibility of endless unfinishable matches if only two tanks remain and they aren't able to kill one another.

Won't happen in this game though.
