We pick up Tana.... In the meantime, we start assaulting the entrance! Gerik takes a hit and pays it back twofold. Considering the capped stats, this is a good level! New units! Gerik looks pretty solid, and Knoll is kinda sketchy looking, I might bench him or tower grind him. NEXT LEVEL DROP TACTICS! Tana will now attack from the inside, giving Knoll and Gerik a hand! DEATH! SWIRLY RAINBOW DEATH! OVERKILL!(Devil axes are OP!) THE FIRST HEAL OF THE ENTIRE RUN EPIC HEAL LEVEL! DOWN DOGGY. It was so bright that nothing could be seen. Positioning! MORE RAINBOW SWIRL DEATH That spear has terrible hit... OH COME ON! Useful item get! And then OH GOD MYRRH DIES. BURN IN THE LIGHT! ZAP These guys are TANKY....to anything that isn't magic. zapped again! AND GARCIA WINS THE STARING CONTEST! LASER EYE SURGERY tink SECOND HEAL OF THE ENTIRE RUN Colm will nab the chest, saving lockpick uses!(even though Tethys is a rogue) Eclipse spear get! recruited! NOM dangit! Garcia: 2 Gargoyles: 0 CAPT. STABBY HAS RISEN Good level! With all the poison weapons around, this will help. The boss is not threatening at all. Tana eats it for a snack. It's the only way for me to finish the chapter without it freezing. I exclusively used Ephraim/Saleh for this task so I could get him levels. LEVELDUMPTIME! Towergrinding! Now onto the actual chapter! Carlyle is no pushover! We'll need some serious power to get past him. This guy might've been troublesome....if he didn't have only 1 MAG. Franz starts with "obtaining" a Door Key! We open up the right area and.... We find Cormag, who replaces Rennac! He'll make a good tank, if his offensive stats don't pan out. Caellach is apparently a Gorgon as well! He was so embarrassed from the fact that he hit himself that all the color drained away from him. Luna is OP! Good level! Death and a Rogue level! Loot get! Knoll, you suck. Seth has to clean up your mess and gets rewarded for it. Also, turns out the Devil Axe does indeed have devil reversal :c Can't touch dis da nananana... Death! Loot and promotion! Bishop will be INCREDIBLY helpful against bosses that are monsters, due to 3x weapon mt. YOU AREN'T RUNNING AWAY FROM ME THIS TIME A Axes! SILENCER! NOM still can't touch dis. Tana will loot the chest room! Loot detected! And it is ours! Why do people keep missing high hit attacks! At least I can feed the kill to Colm, who could REALLY use some Strength... Good level! On another note, my game is freezing in the middle of turn 5, once a bael gets off the mountain the southeast corner. Did the same thing happen to you? They just can't use it ? It's locked to their class, not their character. Any Ephraim lord, irregardless of if they are your main lord or not, can use Siegmund, and the same applies to Sieglinde. Eclipse looks a bit... bugged... And I think things are gonna get easier for you with Excalibur around! It's going to get easier. And harder simultaneously as well. CHAPTER 18: EXP FARM Turns out the Steel Lance gives you +5 speed! Its hit is still terrible though. The boss is very non-threatening! This guy MIGHT be a problem. L'Arachel gets herself turned into stone! Might've been a problem if we didn't have a bunch of Restore staves! FEAR MARISA'S CRIMSON EYE. AS IN ALL 8 OF THEM. At least he got magic. Good. ... Could use a bit more Skill, but Gleipnir covers that. Otherwise he's primed for the final battle! Our staffbot! Colm will be our Assassin, and hopefully, we can get some of those Lethality procs from him. Tethys will assist as well. Our Great Lords! Dozla is the tanky one and Vanessa is the offensive one. She wields the dreaded Brave Lance that can ORKO ANY ENEMY, so long as it hits twice. Our monster unit! The Sharp Claw will be her weapon of choice, with the Crimson Eye being used in a pinch. Our flier! He's fast, but leaves much to be desired in terms of durability. At least he can use Vidofnir and has Pierce. Our Sniper! INCREDIBLY tanky, but could use more Skill. That Beacon Bow will be very helpful. ROSS THE PHYSICAL TANK. THAT IS ALL. Fado will serve as support for everybody, though I forgot if he has an S in Swords or Bows....(because he is much better for using Audhulma or Nidhogg..) magictankmyrrh/10 Our team of heavy hitters and bosskillers! Siegmund is apparently a magic weapon as well, and has Fenrir's animation! DEATH! THE HEAVENS SHALL SMITE YOU A quick fortify to keep everybody up and running. Morva is.....terrible... As are these guys. Dead! ALSO DEAD! DEATH FOR EVERYTHING! Riev moves? Too bad your Pierce does nothing when you deal a fixed 15 damage against Innes. That was almost a problem. And so Riev is dead! I throw down another Fortify to keep everybody alive. Now for the cleanup... NOM Morva...Morva sucks. He dies in 2 Purges. Heck, EVERYTHING dies to Purge. I feed Myrrh the kill! Now for some Sacred Twin repairing... A bit more cleanup.... AND WE HAVE DONE IT! ONTO THE FINAL BATTLE! Lyon looks very threatening...until you realize that Naglfar has Eclipse as well... We start with eliminating nearby enemies! Second to last loot of the game! These Draco Zombies might be a bit of a problem. And reinforcements show up!(they can't do anything to my guys though) One Draco Zombie down! And another one bites the dust-er-STONE FLOOR! Marisa loves the taste of shredded deathgoyle... A bit more death and we're nearly to Lyon! These spiders have Lethal Talons, not Sharp Claws, which are far more dangerous. YOUR 6 DAMAGE CRITICAL IS INCONSEQUENTIAL, NOW DIE! DOWN DOGGY. I can just Purge Lyon and kill him. But where's the fun in that? Ross gets a heal... Gerik can take a huge chunk out of Lyon's HP. As can...pretty much everybody. Innes weakens Lyon.. I get the last of the loot... And Renika finishes! The Demon King has arrived! And he's tough! And his weapon isn't an Eclipse weapon! This might be a problem... ...or not. I could just chip him down...but that would take 12 turns. THE BATTLE BEGINS! See those 2 Wights? They have Runeswords and they HURT. Let's clear out the enemy an- WHOA WHOA WHAT? Apparently, the Demon King has paper-thin defenses, relative to my guys. Or....not. BURN IN THE LIGHT! OH GOD HE CASTED NIGHTMARE AND MY HEALER IS ASLEEP AND THEN ROSS DIES. SAVESTATE TIME. I reposition and eliminate the Wights. GO LATONA STAFF! GAH Well it was worth a shot. BURN IN THE LIGHT...AGAIN! GO TETHYS! CHIP HIM DOWN! (the DK misses) Alright, we should be good to finish him next tu- OMG TETHYS CRITKILLED THE DK! TETHYS FOR MVP WE'VE DONE IT! WE HAVE BEATEN FE8 RANDOMIZED! My turn counts, if you were curious. I spent a LOT of time on Chapter 10 arenagrinding. GG. FINAL THOUGHTS: In the end, the all-randomized version of FE8 reminded me a LOT of FE7 Chaos Mode, with each weapon serving a purpose, alongside a more heavily ramping up difficulty. Of course, everything here was COMPELTELY random, and not adjusted in any way(aside from Archer's MOV from 8 to 7).
