astrophys
Its not wrong at all. Although I predominantly use male Avatars in games (both in FE and in other ones with the option), I'll tend to play the female character at least once to experience the different perspective on the character interactions. Nanima
Are you being serious? So you think it's wrong to play as a woman when you are male? Ever played Tomb Raider? Heck, ever played any game with a female main character? Because congrats; the reverse is what female gamers have been doing for most of their gaming life! It hasn't killed us, nor has it made us turn into beer guzzling, chain-smoking stereotypes (well most of us anyway). Do you think selecting a female avatar will suddenly make you grow breasts and speak in a falsetto voice? I am sorry, but this is just hilarious to me. Mighty Kamina
Why would that be an issue? Play as whatever gendered Kamui you wanna play as.
HTakara82
There's nothing abnormal about it. But here's a question, do you self insert yourself as the female avatar? if you do, there's nothing wrong with it either, but you should probably come out of the closet. EarthboundAddict
No... I'm playing as a FeMu just so I can marry guys. (I find them more likeable :)
derekai
I recall my days playing my "lesbian" Robin. Male with the most feminine look and voice possible, for the sake of a stronger Lucina.
Dark Holy Elf
Like everyone else said, play whatever you want. You're already living out a fictional world with magic, dragons, and who knows what else, I don't think it's that more of a stretch to live it out as a gender and/or sexuality which isn't yours in real life. The only time it is wrong to play a Female Avvy in any game ever is if your That Guy in a DnD session But since it's impossible to be That Guy in Fire Emblem, go the fuck ahead. What is "That Guy" in D&D in this context? I associate the term with someone who is a jerk at the D&D table in various ways, but not sure how these would relate to gender necessarily. To quote 1d4chan: "That Guy inserts his creepy fetishes into everything and is the reason men are banned from playing women at your group" (Noteworthy that I don't actually play D&D because I don't own any handbooks and stuff like that, I just read up on it at 1d4chan, so I may not be the most educated when it comes to terms like this)
Twylis
Not only is it not wrong to do so, but it's also actively wrong to think that it's wrong It's depressing that it's a question that even warranted asking

NeptuniasBeard
I'm playing through Awakening as a female right now and I'm going through every dude like a buffet. It's no issue unless you want it to be.
Admiral "Bull" Halsey
uhhh no...? If anything I did the same in Awakening, but for this game I'll probably play as a Male anyways.

CrimeanRoyalKnight
The game incites you to play as both through support logs, though.
eclipse
It's a bunch of pixels on the screen, not me as a person. So why should this be an issue?
TheGreatNothing
I might even play my first run in Fates as a female to get all the children.

NekoKnight
You can play as a female but you will be branded "homo". I mean, physically branded with the word "homo". This can be nullified with branding "no" in front of the "homo" or "genized milk" after the 'homo" but getting branded twice for the sake of choosing a female avatar seems excessive. iZallen
No problem with that, I always rolled a Female character in all my games if I can. (Except DnD, I did it once or twice and let me tell you, It gets awkward fast). Edited August 9, 2015 by iZallen
Zachmac
I mean, what else is the female option for? Girls or something? Pfft, girls don't play video games.
