I meant: real touhou = GFW > STB/DS/(ISC? idk never played it) > Phantasmagoria >>>>> Fighters. I'd put Phantasmagoria over StB/DS because Phantasmagoria still involves your character firing actual shots that dish out actual damage to enemies, including generic enemies (that don't really exist in photography games outside of character summons). Plus, although the charge meter is a unique concept, the spell effects are more similar to traditional Touhou spells, while it still carries the concept of bombing. I'd say PoDD/PoFV only deviates significantly from traditional Touhous on the factors of a) being multiplayer, b) player HP, c) charge meter while StB/DS have more significant deviations. Either way, though, they're all pretty closely bundled up imo. StB/DS/ISC are a great and unique alternative to practicing boss battles, while PoDD/PoFV is great for stage section experiences. To me, boss battles and spellcards are more defining characteristics. Touhou is all about pattern captures, to me (even if you could get a better score by not capturing, that just means the scoring system for that game was shittily designed. Looking at you, TD).
