No lives, but 4/5th of the lifebar was filled up. About to finish off the spell. Died. If I had gotten through it I would've gotten an extend for the final spell, and there's no way I would screw it up with a full power bar and a life. there's no way I can ever get a run like that back again. Ugh. I know that feeling. Did you have any dumb deaths? For Hell's Tokamak, I just bombed every time the bullets leave the red circle. They take a while to come out again, so if you have a decent amount of power, you should be able to finish it off. Also, you do know that on Lunatic, Okuu's 3rd nonspell has a safespot directly below her, dead bottom of the screen, right? It's very scary, but I've never failed it before. There was this one run where I got past Orin with three extra lives, proceeded to mess up without bombing multiple times and game over'd just as Subterranean Sun started...
