Hidden Power Paper got massive buffs in the Gen 6 metagame thanks to its incredible utility in being able to pretty much OHKO Mega Diancie and Mega Tyranitar, as well as any other Rock type, even with the special defence boost from Sandstorm in effect. Smogon eventually decided that Hidden Power Paper was too over-centralizing in the metagame, and ban-hammered it to the barren lands of Anything Goes with only Mega Rayquaza to keep it company for the inevitable future.
