Rolandark
Fire Emblem: Lord Defense (Name is not final.) Breakdown: -Currently will be a reskin of FE8 that will change the game play entirely. (I'm mostly going for just this since it's my first ROM Hack i plan on completing.) -Will go for a unique approach to FE game play, as it will focus more on defensive strategy than the typical "blitzkrieg" (overwhelm the foe) style. -Lords have awful base stats, and have awful growth rates outside of Speed and Luck. -Most, if not all, characters are worth using as they have their own use. Example: Seth has awful growths in everything aside from Def and HP, which have insane growths. Combine this with his nice base stats and it makes him a great early game tank. However, later when Franz is a higher level, he'll probably take Seth's role as I am making Franz a lot like Seth. -Two versions: -Casual: Your unit's growth rates are a bit better, foes are a lower level, Lords have SLIGHTLY better base stats, removes the need to use a character niche SOMETIMES. (Classic is the main focus, so casual will have delayed releases when compared to Classic) -Classic: Growth rates and foe levels are unchanged. You'll need to make use of a character's "job" that they specialize in. Your lords are weak, so make sue they are protected. Also, before anyone says "Just rescue the lord" . I gave the Lord units an insanely high CON stat. Sure, 99 COn may not look good on a stat screen, but it's better than having people break my rom hack idea! (Hopefully I'm not overlooking something that gives a benefit to insanely high CON. I overlook stuff a lot. In fact, it's thanks to my friend that was watching me play the rom hack [The prologue is done, and that is all.] that I noticed that you could break the hack by rescuing,) Note: if everything goes well, i might have a release next week. (This part was written on December 26th) [spoiler=Screenshots and Captions] Oh, this isn't just for show. Valter in the chapter where you fight him will still be a Great Knight and he'll have horse mounted backup. (Which will work in your favor since I'm pretty sure he's in the sandy part of the level.) Oh, look, some knights for Eirika to grind levels on! Yes, you're eyes aren't lying to you, her base HP is 8. I wasn't lying when i said your lords are weak. They'd die if a rock touches them. Luckily, the growth on Eirika HP wise is 55%. However, DEF and RES are both 3%. You better thank the Gods of your favorite FE game, because this guy is heavily nerfed. Trust me, this boss is still difficult to kill since your main units are physical attackers. Your best bet is to pray to the RNG Goddess that Eirika can solo him (She can do it, i did it in one of my test plays.) , or you can make sure Seth and Eirika have a C Support and they can team up on him.I'm sure there are other ways to kill him to, but these are what I've found to be most reliable. If this proves to be either A: To tedious. or B: To difficult. I will most likely buff Franz's base RES stat or nerf the boss's DEF stat. (He's an armor knight that has both high RES and DEF. So, that's pretty cool, you don't have many of those in the series.) Oh, look! It's Ross-Son-of-the-Sniper-Garcia! Rolandark
So Eirika doesn't have AS loss anymore? Score! I'm sorry, maybe i'm just not used to that terminology, but what is AS loss?
Agro
AS loss refers to when a character loses speed due to their weapon weight being higher than their constitution.

Rolandark
AS = Attack Speed also rip a strategic aspect I beg your pardon? Did I mess something up big time? (referring to "rip a strategic aspect") AS loss refers to when a character loses speed due to their weapon weight being higher than their constitution. Well, not having to deal with that doesn't help you when it takes her 3 turns to kill a Knight with 0 Res (Eirika uses magic with the new class I've given her) while she is doubling it and has 100% Hit Rate. Baldrick
So every (seize) mission is an escort mission? That could be interesting. If you're not changing enemy stats, you might want to nerf Seth's offense because it takes a while for him to stop one-rounding stuff. 25 con is enough to make Eirika unrescueable, and won't cause anything funny to happen. She'd be able to rescue every other unit, so keep that in mind.

He has also lost his silver weapons. His speed is also fairly low so he'll probably only be doubling Knights and soildiers.
Rolandark
Added my own Dev Log I keep to myself onto the post. I'll probably end up moving it to a google doc in the next update.

She'd be able to rescue every other unit, so keep that in mind. You could probably cheat and give her mounted aid, that way she'd be unrescuable but also unable to rescue anyone else. One would ask why you'd have such a fragile unit rescue people though.

One would ask why you'd have such a fragile unit rescue people though. Yeah. I was wondering how to prevent people for using her to rescue, but why would you have her rescue in the first place? I mean, 1) She is frail. 2) She's a lord, if she dies it's game over.
