LeDom
As we already know Swords are light so they're good against people with heavy weapons Axes can power through slim weapons such as spears Lance users have a reach advantage against sword users So here comes the question: how does everything fit in the weapon triangle once you add tomes, bows and shurikens to the equation. Of the top of my head, my only guess is that by that secret weapons wielder can attack a mage by the time they're done reciting their spell, but then I draw a blank. So, anyone cares to take more guesses?
dondon151
IS felt a need to add contrived depth so there you go no rationalization involved
iavasechui
the flat of the axe can be used to block hidden weapons...
joshcja
Its better than a weapon mobius strip.
Djing
Lances and Knives are peasant/civilian weapons. (Villager, Ninja, Maid) Swords and Magic are weapons of the nobility/spiritual. (Samurai, Onmyoji) Axes and Bows are criminal/brutal weapons. (Outlaw, Beserker) The peasants overthrow the nobility. The criminals terrorize the peasants. The nobility clean up the criminals. Contrived as hell but thats the best I can explain it.
Dragonslayer9x
Spaceman Craig hit it right on the head... that is way better then the random way to remember it I made up. Axe heads have the shape of a bow Spear tips are basically daggers Elven bladesingers can use tomes blech As for how they fit in... ummm... Bows out-range hidden weapons, Assassins are the bane of mages, magic deflects arrows. That's the best I got.
XeKr
The easy way to remember is definitely Fire > Grass > Water > Fire. ;p
nocturnal YL
Just as real life swords aren't really advantaged against axes, there really isn't a need for an explanation here.
Jayvee94
Archers are good against Flying units (Who typically wield lances) Sky Knights are good against Mage, hence (Lance beat magic) Bows reach greater distances than throwing Daggers Magic is good against axe users because they typically have low resistance
Anomalocaris
The lances are thinner than swords and axes, making them harder to use to defend against arrows. Axes overpower silly ninja tricks through SHEER MACHISMO AND POWAH.
