Ϲharlie
Wendy is a workable character on normal mode. She's a little hard to get off the ground, but the armor triangle makes that a little easier. Hard mode is another story. Either way, she really isn't worth it because she offers more or less the same stats as her brother, but with much less defense and a considerably worse join time (she can be killed by archers in the chapter she joins in). Wendy does have the novelty of being the second female armor knight and isn't as ugly as Bors or Barth, for whatever that's worth. Anyway, since this topic is about archers, let's talk about a useless archer: Thomas. Some people around here think that Zealot is pointless, but Thomas makes him look pretty amazing. Reikken
The following pertains to hard mode: Enemies have like 18-22 atk in her joining chapter, so that 8 def is worthless. She gets 2-shotted by every enemy. Additionally, enemy spd for things that aren't knights or soldiers is about 8. Granted, the ones with steel have AS loss, so not all will double her. Her hit with an iron lance is 79... before factoring in enemy avoid, so she's looking at ~60 hit. She has 4 move, does terrible damage, misses almost half the time, and gets counterattacked for over half her hp. Leveling her is a huge pain. Then if things weren't bad enough already, the next 5-6 chapters is set in the Western Isles, which is populated primarily by axe users. So she's now going against the weapon triangle most of the time on top of all that. Edited October 17, 2008 by Reikken
Florete
I tried raising Wendy in normal mode. Raising low level characters is never an issue with me, but she just plain sucked. She couldn't dodge a thing and she took a lot of damage, hardly giving any back.
Just call me AL
I didn't have a hard time with Wendy at all. On the contrary, she was one of my best units when I played Fire Emblem VI for the first time.
Florete
He did say that some characters come pretty damn close. Someone out there thinks Wendy is a good character. I didn't have a hard time with Wendy at all. On the contrary, she was one of my best units when I played Fire Emblem VI for the first time. Let everyone know that I predicted it! Reikken
I didn't have a hard time with Wendy at all. On the contrary, she was one of my best units when I played Fire Emblem VI for the first time. Now try again on hard mode, and see if you get the same results..! sandmanccl
Well, Hard Mode is Hard Mode. *shrugs* Underleveled units that are somewhat difficult to use already become even more so.
torifae
To be honest, I have no problem with playing Archer/Sniper class. Even though they're completely stuck with Bows, I can't think of a reason why I should not dislike them :X
