Yeah, for some reason Americans call it a microwave oven...stupid huh? I think so too...

i shall now explain why it is called a MICROWAVE OVEN!

a microwave is an electromagnetic wave that has a lower frequency than natural light

THAT is a microwave

a MICROWAVE OVEN is the really nice kitchen appliance that uses MICROWAVES to heat food

I disagree. "Oven" is just not needed. Say "microwave" to anyone, and they will know what you're talking about. The rest who don't think about the food-heating appliance are just dweebs.

That's what I'm saying...though technically its a microwave oven.

I'm still calling it an electromagnetic wave that has a lower frequency than light...without the "heating up my food" part :P

Silly person.

I never say something unless I'm totally sure I know what I'm talking about. Come to the UK, nobody will call it a microwave oven. Just a microwave.

In that case, what the fuck are we all talking about this for?

On-topic: I'd be so fucked without a microwave. Good luck on fixing it/buying a new one.
