BBHood217
Chapter 30: Victory March We're near the end of the game. Only one more map stands between Eliwood and Ingram. After ferrying Eliwood to Valor once again, Fargus offers further help. We already have a super berserker anyway, among other super units. Plus, someone needs to warn the world in case the worst happens. Nils still seems too depressed to join the fight. Eliwood understands and leaves him with words of encouragement. And off we go. I wonder if Fargus has taken a liking to Steena. And then he realizes that he forgot something. If it's the same as in the original, then it's not really that important. But Nils volunteers to get it to them regardless. Ingram senses his quintessence coming and gets Derek to fetch it for him. The party nears the Gate. They wonder if they should wait for Athos and Megan to return with the legendary weapons before continuing. When they're suddenly attacked, narrowly avoiding disaster thanks to Nils. He's finally snapped out of his funk. And he reveals their attacker. How did he cast bolting? Actually, there's an enemy sage with bolting so let's just assume it was him instead. Not exactly a happy reunion. Suffice to say, he's completely irredeemable. He then gets warped to the Gate's entrance as Grandbellians appear all over the map. There's no turning back now. With how involved she is in the story, I think this hack actually has four main characters. Like he said, it's time for the final battle. And here are the people who will fight in it. Sadly, Heather and Ellen will sit this one out. I'm sure they want a piece of Derek, but it's more likely that he'll chew off their heads. There are three paths to the goal, and we're taking all of them. Oh yeah, and Nils makes his delivery. Says Eliwood as he tosses it into the convoy. Good to have you back, Nils. Just please keep the random references to a minimum. More later.
BBHood217
Chapter 30 part 2 First order of business is to take out the nearest enemies. And a far away one. Three small groups will take each path. Ray hammers away at the wall of generals. This ballistician starts sniping at Kathy. That'll help her dodge. As we move further in, more enemies start showing up. Gah, the sniper got lucky. Lemme just fix that real quick. Those Drops are really doing him wonders. These wyverns gather on one spot, ready to swoop down on anyone within range. We prepare to tank out the incoming enemies on all three paths. Mia has her path covered. Ray baits out and takes out the wyverns. That's like the third low-hit attack that hit you. Good thing they barely did any damage. Eliwood's handling his path just fine. Oh joy, maximum thief when you can't steal anymore. It's a little slower going down the bottom path, so these reinforcements showed up later than the others. Eventually, all the reinforcements are taken out. There's the guy that attacked them before the battle started. Always a welcome sight. You're not the only one with bolting. He survived though, so Luna finishes him off. Shouldn't wind swords use the simpler aircalibur animation? Bolting's not my only problem. C'mon, you can do better. Excellen hops onto a ballista that caters to her style of fighting. Luna's actually also on a similar ballista. Let's fight long-ranged with long-ranged. Luna snipes a druid that was actually using an S-rank tome. Namely this one, and now it's mine. Meanwhile, Ray enters one of the ruins. Suddenly, a cameo appears. And she's looking for Athos. Don't make it sound like he's dead. That's not until later. With no Athos, she settles for giving an item before disappearing. It's arguably about as useful as she herself is. Another S-rank tome. Grr, I'll get you yet. Finally, Matthew's getting somewhere. That finally ends that. Another S-rank tome that's mine. And that's all three. As we get closer, this guy shows up. He's a major pain. Just advancing forward. Dammit. More later.
BBHood217
Chapter 30 part 3 Now let's finally see who replaces Renault. Or maybe he was just removed entirely after all. Wait, maybe there is someone. It's Dan! Nah, I kid. It's actually Alex. So he is in the game after all. And he's about comparable to Sanger only with more defenses. If you're looking for Luna, she's on a ballista. Argh, he survived. More skill is good for axe users. And now Kathy's silenced. She was supposed to restore Lynoan. All the other staff users are too far away from them. Luna shows who the better ballistician is. It's just Sanger cleaving and smiting evil. Excellen seems inspired by her boss. And Altenna continues to rule the skies. These reinforcements are catching up to us from behind. We better hunker down. Some levels. The bolting bolts its last. More skill is also good for dark magic users. And he's all capped out. He won't be the only one. More levels, and another cap. Lynoan's voice returns with a vengeance. And yet another cap. Nils visits the last of the ruins. I think it's actually where chapter 19xx takes place. In it, he picks up the final ring. More silence druids. This time, we're ready for them. Level montage. And we're finally here. You're going down. Actually, not yet. Mia's gonna use him to grind her light rank for a while. More later.
BBHood217
Chapter 30 part 4 Ooh, another instant support. They're finally reunited. They really do love each other. Which makes me wonder how he'll react when she introduces him to this cool guy that she's gotten close to. Mia pokes Derek some more. And after a long drought, reinforcements start showing up again. If this was Hector mode, they'd be an indication that you've now taken too long and have just lost the sidequest. Just taking out the S-rank tomes for a spin. The rest of this fight is just gonna be levels. Mia finally gets that S rank in light. Still just levels. Like the description says, no giant robots here. Still just leveling off the reinforcements. Until they finally stopped coming. Now we're left with this to mop up. Everyone's finally capped their levels. Well, except Alex. With all enemies finally gone except Derek, I can finally shop. Actually, never mind. I'm good. Derek is finally finished off. I forgot to mention before, but both he and Gulcasa were immune to arrow and wind magic effectiveness. Their special weapons probably have a Delphi shield effect. That last batch of reinforcements lasted 10 turns, appearing in every single one of those turns. Hey, warming the bench isn't as easy as one might think. Now nothing stands in their way to Ingram. So Eliwood takes time off to ask about the siblings' origins. It's practically the same as the original, just with "Nergal" and "Lyn" replaced with "Ingram" and "Linoan". Next time: The big showdown. Lord Glenn
There was something else I saw (recently) while lurking browsing on my tablet that I wanted to comment on, but I can't remember what it was, so I'll just answer this one: Oh, and that answers my previous doubt. S-Rank weapons held by generics, haha. Then I guess it will be the same with the magical weapons in Ch30? I suppose. Hmm, well, I can easily tell the Rainbow Axe is from Chrono Cross, and Kain's Spear was pretty much stated in the description even if I didn't knew it beforehand... but no clue about where the Aurora Bow is from. If you ask me, that Athos-Nergal thing could've stayed. I mean, maybe it's just me, but it kinda looks like a big coincidence that Ephidel, Sonia, Limstella, and especially Kishuna, would still be around if Nergal isn't. In fact, so far I was kinda thinking that Ingram is simply picking up where a less succesful Nergal failed. Then again, it's not like there's anything (yet) denying or confirming this is or isn't the case. Oh well... Of all the little things added in, I can't really say no to that one. Some SRW games do have it that the heroes have some little party or shore leave (mind you, not all of them are cheery in nature) before the final battle(s), and I have SRW bias, so... hahahaha... The Aurora Bow hails from Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, just like Alex, Luna, Kyle, and Mel. (It happens to be based on the Starlight Bow, the strongest Bow-type weapon in the game, usable only by the playable character Nash.) --- Oh, there was a much older comment I wanted to reply about - the comment way back from Linoan Mode when Mel appeared. The reason Mel has yellow pants (and a yellow shirt as a Pirate) is because his battle animation from Lunar Legend (at the time, the best source of coming up with a palette for him for the game, due to the lack of sprite rips from the PlayStation version) features an all yellow outfit with a red cape (the cape being very large and taking up a majority of the area available for FE portraits). Acacia Sgt
Well, it doesn't surprise me the S-rank tomes are the vanilla ones. Considering animation implementation issues back then and stuff. Hmm, now I wonder how the character endings will look since you've basically locked yourself out from pretty much every custom/edited paired ending the hack had implemented, that I remember. I suppose the individual endings were changed as well as a just in case, but I'm not sure. And I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I still find amusing how Matthew stands out among all those other non-Elibians, heh.
BBHood217
Final Chapter: Light, preparations It all comes down to this. They're almost ready, but they're still missing a few important things. Ah, here they are. They finally have the super weapons that they need. Eliwood gets back Durandal, and he'll definitely use it this time. Ah yes, Sengenjin. Once wielded by the forgotten ninth legendary hero Ohrijinal, who would later found the tiny nation of Douhnottstiele. It's so tiny that no Elibean map has ever recognized it as a legitimate nation, and as such no one knows where it's actually located in the world. Sounds like Ray needs to play more children's card games. Lynoan gets Aureola and, unlike in the original, she's the only one who can use it. And Ms. Fourth Main Character also gets her own tome. Nils scouts out the upcoming battle. And it feels like Ingram still has tremendous power despite losing so many Grandbellians. All that's left to do now is to prepare for the upcoming showdown. Behold, the final team. This is after all the stat boosters have been applied. Eliwood, the noble of Pherae and wielder of the Blazing Blade Durandal. Raymond Soto, some guy from New York who's literally the hero of his own story. Linoan, the duchess of Tahra and eternal opposer to the Grandbell empire. Nils, one of the dragon siblings who provides various support. Megan, temporary Athos replacement whose role here is primarily as a staffbot. Team ATX whose members are Beowulf who breaks through his enemies, the Platinum Angel who snipes from afar, and the Sword That Smites Evil who cuts his opposition in two. Mia the water adept, who's now drowning her enemies in light instead of water. Sakura Kinomoto, wielder of all kinds of powerful magic whether from cards or from tomes. Luna, master archer with a sweet singing voice. And Edmond, the game's only playable dark magic user. Honorable mention goes to those who can't participate in this final battle but still fought valiantly in the prior battles. I dare say he's better than Gonzales. She's definitely much better than Nanna. Eat your heart out, Milady. He did fine, but he was better off stealing. Now this is a thief. They did their roles well, but both of them combined still don't match up to Altenna and her personal weapon. And finally, it's clear that I was supposed to have used her. Maybe next time. That tome really is locked to her. Turns out that despite not being ranked as Prf, most personal weapons are only usable by their owners. And I really wanted Eliwood to use the Gaebolg too. The only exceptions seem to be the Einlanzer and the Revolver Stake who anyone can use. It's arguable that I never needed an augury. He still sort of gives one anyway. You bet I will. More later. BBHood217
Final Chapter: Light, opening cutscene For this final map, there won't be a convoy. Fortunately, there are no item drops at all. But you have to make sure that you have everything you need with you. They provide him with a means to continue his business, assuming the world doesn't get destroyed. Eventually, Merlinus concedes and agrees to remain behind. As does Shion. Well, I hear that there might be some unfinished business... And with that, they depart to confront Ingram. Is it just me, or is it a little dark in here? The Gate is open. Now all Ingram needs is the quintessence that has just arrived in front of him. He doesn't particularly care for that annoying life stuff that the quintessence is mixed with. And then he summons the members of the upcoming boss rush. Who all appear inside the darkness. Are we seriously doing this map in fog?! Well, it adds an extra challenge I suppose. The two continue their battle of morals. Ingram claims that his motives transcend morals and are for a higher cause. With Athos present, he feels that now is the proper time to reveal his true motives. And they relate to Nergal. He's basically reiterating the original history of Athos and Nergal cutscene that Megan spoke over. With one key difference: Nergal didn't survive. And this somehow will bring balance to this particular universe? Of course Eliwood only sees what's in front of him: A lunatic who wants to destroy everything. The time for words is over. Ingram and his unknown minions disappear, leaving Eliwood wanting to engage them alone. His friends of course won't have any of that. Yeah, you'll help. In another playthrough. You finally got your wish, Megan. Hope you won't regret it. Everyone's pitching in. Including me. And finally, here's the part where everyone sounds like chapters from a self-help book. Team ATX prepares for yet another encounter with Ingram. Luna promises that her aim will be true. Your dad would be proud, wherever he may be. The magic friends are ready to lend their powers. And with that, we're off. More later.
BBHood217
Final Chapter: Light, part 1 This is the only visible enemy right now. Might as well poke him. And in doing so, the first boss is revealed. I was wondering where she was. INITIATING TERMINATION PROTOCOL ERROR: TARGET OUT OF RANGE Sakura blows away the general. Luna finally scraps the morph. I can't help but wonder. I finally get around to fixing the Howling Bow. I knew it! Fortunately, Sakura has him covered. Another door opens. Kyosuke volunteers to scout ahead. And another nomad rides out of the darkness. Cut it out, you stupid nomads. Some familiar faces reveal themselves. Darin is shot down. While Bleak engages up close with Kyo. Out comes a druid. And he hits. But she hits back harder. Luna provides cover fire and takes out Bleak. With multiple people injured, Megan heals all of them at once. And yet another nomad, but this one has a name. Also in that nomad's chamber is a annoying purger. If she's here, then Jack's not far behind. There he is. And they have an A support with each other. You've gotta be kidding me. Excellen still hasn't forgotten that time when they recaptured her. Edmond pulls through and takes out Jack. More bitter memories. There, no more purge. Alastor emerges from the last room. The two generals clash so hard that everyone goes blind. Hey, I finally get to fight Bradley. Megan finally sees some action. And a level up. Lynoan nukes Alastor. While Eliwood delivers death from above to Bradley. With all the bosses defeated, the main chamber where Ingram is opens. And also, some assassins try to sneak up on us. Only to get burned. There, everyone's max level again. Grr, an enemy in Ingram's room has berserk. We warily approach Ingram. Good thing too, as enemies fly out of the darkness. This looks bad. A berserker runs right into Kyo's lance. And then Ray takes a bad hit. The enemies smell blood and gang up on him. Dammit Ray, are you gonna be my first ever loss? Phew, that was close. Had that last one hit, the poison would've killed him. Ray's friends quickly patch him up. His berserk ran out, so now he's down to using eclipse. The group approaches the chamber. Until finally, Kyo runs into Ingram. Time to dogpile on him. But first, let's get this last enemy out of the way. Team ATX is up first to attack. Strangely, he only has words for Excellen and not the other two. Now that's a Dead End Shot. Of course Ereshkigal would have an iron rune effect. Ray faces down the custom villain that he's implemented. Maybe you should've gotten him the Raikiri instead, Megan. Lynoan's Aureola beats Ereshkigal, but still only does small damage. Actually, I do believe in the power of friendship. I mean, the support bonuses are pretty great. More later. BBHood217
Final Chapter: Light, part 2 After another all-heal, Megan faces down Ingram once again. The two perform a spectacular magic show. Eliwood finally steps up. And does exactly what he just said. There he goes again, being all cryptic Time Diver guy. It looks like he died but knowing him, he probably just dimension hopped away. Liar, you know damn well what's coming next. Yeah, it's that part. Multiple dragons have emerged from the Gate. But how? Where did the quintessence to summon them come from? Don't understand! One theory for the original was that since he was dying anyway from losing the battle, Nergal sacrificed himself and had his own quintessence summon the dragons to spite the heroes. Here? My theory is that Ingram's dimension hopping away generated enough residual energy to summon the dragons. It has to be noted that dimension hopping is a major thing and not done so easily. ...I think. Whatever the case, here there be dragons. Megan hopes her all-powerful magic will stop them. It doesn't. Ahahahahaha! Burn, baby, burn! Yeah, don't stop now. Try tanking another fire breath, maybe that'll do it. Argh, you spoilsport. Bramimond activates the machina. Let's not forget, the siblings' dragonstone with her essence in it is somewhere in the area so that probably helped in her revival. Ninian wakes up and immediately she's tasked with something important. She blasts the dragons with a map attack. Two of the dragons perish. But she has no more energy for the last one. So it's up to us to finish the job. But we'll have to go through these guys first. They're no problem, and they're the only enemies left; there aren't any annoying long-range magic users in the alcoves here. As always, the dragon is all-powerful. And this time, he can't be critted anymore. Flametongue only has a description, but its stats can still be determined from the stats below. We just need to keep our HP above 40 to survive him. Like I said, the mobs are no issue. Megan begins the assault on the dragon. Ahahahahaha! Burn to the ground! ...I'm enjoying this far more than I should. Everyone chips away at the dragon little by little. I try for some big damage. The second try was more successful. Finally, Eliwood delivers the final blow. Durandal is actually the only weapon that's effective against the dragon, none of the others are. And the dragon is defeated. It was much tougher than that demon dragon that'll show up in 20 years. Huh? Why did you die? Megan was the one who facetanked the dragons. More later.
BBHood217
Final Chapter: Light, ending cutscene Athos is not long for this world, with Bramimond soon to follow. I guess old age has finally done him in. Athos leaves the heroes with a glimpse of the future. what Why would this concern them? I'm pretty sure Eirika and Ephraim can handle whatever starts there. And with those prophetic words, Athos breathes his last. You will be missed. Again, it's all the way over at Magvel. Why should Elibeans worry about it? Ninian is once again apologetic over her actions. She and Nils were born in Elibe long ago, and longed for it some time after they traveled through the Gate. Allowing Ingram to take advantage of them for his master plan. Eliwood once again reassures her that she's not completely to blame. And proposes a possible peace treaty. But they know such peace would take a long time to form. Right now, they must return through the Gate and close it before other dragons emerge. So they say their farewells. At least they'll return with positive experiences. The dragon siblings return to their home. Our heroes return to theirs. And Eliwood comes home with the duchess of another continent by his side. That picture is accurate. Lest you forget, the spirit of Lyn inhabits her. Next time: The wrap up.
Acacia Sgt
Haha, I'll never get tired of that Kyosuke gif. The Ingram-Excellen talk is due to Nino having one with Nergal. Since Oswin and Raven don't, well, that's why Sänger and Kyosuke didn't as well. Assassins with Shishioh Blades? Pft, that with the fog that is devious. Ah, the end... now I wonder... BBHood217
Epilogue So we timeskip ahead a little. Eliwood and apparently Hector too are about to become marquesses. Yeah, I can't stay long. I have other hacks to play. You two look good together. Then again, you're both from the same game series so maybe that's natural. That's okay. I can always start a new game if I wanna spend more time with you guys. Of course he already has a name, but it's nice to pretend. Holy crap, Lynoan suddenly turned into Mia. Of course not, Mia just occupies Looking At Camera Lyn's portrait slot. Don't worry, you didn't miss much. It was practically the same adventure that you would have had in the original. I'm not worthy to bask in your greatness. Still, they appreciate everything I've done. Because I literally did everything. Yep. The next time I'll see you is when your son is fighting. Credits are obviously unchanged. Ooh, sub-1000. I don't normally get that low. And now it's time for the character epilogues, in recruitment order. Basically, he went back to do his FE5 thing. He wasn't used much, but I can tell that he's more Seth than Marcus. All he was good for was his Einlanzer. She was the one and only magic user who turned out bad. Such a shame. She was more suited to be an assassin than Matthew. The only reason I dropped her was because I paired her with the next guy. Who ended up sucking. Raphael and Milanor run circles around this guy. This man is godly. He did fall behind a little in the late game, but his personal weapon allowed him to keep up and smite all evil. Matthew was mostly the same, with little difference from his performance in the original game. As I expected, unedited supports also mean unedited paired endings. So I'll just make my own: "Although both girls returned to their respective worlds, Mia and Sakura continue to be friends. They would share and compare their kinds and styles of magic with each other, as well as the wonders of their worlds." Both of them are exceptional magic users. It's why I love magic. Makes me wonder why she didn't team up with Leaf in this hack, they just did not and cannot interact with each other at all. Regardless, she's still an amazing wyvern rider even without her personal weapon. It looked good until Priscilla was mentioned. Lemme rewrite that: "Still saddened by the corruption of her mercenary team, Katherine turned to Raphael for emotional support. Eventually the two would become a couple and together they formed a new mercenary team, one that would eternally uphold their noble ideals." Raph wrecked everything in his path, and Kathy wasn't so bad either. Certainly far better than Nanna. Unlike Alex, Makalov was never in this hack after all. As a pegasus knight, she did an okay job. No difference, but still beats out Glenn. Also no difference. Any bets that his love for women will have him travel to other worlds? Bugeyes was actually great, and might've become better than Luna and Excellen had I continued to use him. But one important thing might make him and Luna pointless to use... i think alteisen is a pretty cool guy. eh tanks and stakes enemeis and doesn't afraid of anything. After this game, I think she should drop her singing career and take up archery. Y'know, I'm unsatisfied with this. So here's a paired ending for Kyosuke and Luna: "As they both already have significant others in their lives, they knew that their love was never meant to be. Luna did take away one good thing from her time with Kyosuke: She would return to her world piloting a giant robot of her design that she named the Althena." It sounds like he could be inserted anywhere. He wouldn't look out of place in The Last Promise. Anyway, he kills snowstorms good. Possibly better than Canas. So she's a con artist after all. She somehow fooled everyone into thinking she was a shaman when she actually was a swordmaster, and she definitely wasn't there fighting the dragon. Look, I don't know her at all. I have absolutely nothing to work with here. As a unit, I already had Sanger. Something tells me that in her own game, that title would be given for a different reason. And probably given by Ellen. She was okay, but far outclassed by Altenna. You're not Kyosuke, end of story. I really have nothing to add here. They're the same as in the original, just with Nils making random references. Like if Leaf was Seth, then Plum was like totally Titania. For sure. You're Rath, end of story. Best thief ever. Say, what would it be like if Yggdra was in an FE game? Well, there's this Japanese hack of FE8... He looked like a promising hero, the only problem was I already had a good one. Wanna run an all-magic team? Did Mia and Sakura somehow turn out bad? Then these two sages are perfect. I wonder, will their children appear in a future hack...? That sounds like an interesting story for another time. She seems on par with Heather, which means Altenna still outclasses her. The triangle attack is always an option, but why field three pegs when one wyvern does the job just as well? Excellen is the only archer you'll ever need due to one important thing: The Howling Bow. Whoops, battle stats got screwed up there. With how the hack keeps pushing her on me ever since she joined, it was clear that she's a main character along with Heather in that hypothetical custom FE game. And truth be told, I do wanna see said game become a reality one day. Unit-wise, she's another great magic user. Even gets her own personal tome. I got nothing. He looks like a great hero, but the problem with both him and Kyle is that Raymond is a hero who's forced to deploy multiple times. Really makes it hard to use other heroes. I guess he could be a Sanger substitute, or you could use both to cut enemies in two twice as fast. And given how many Mario games there are, it's not likely that she'll stop playing any time soon. By the way, there was more to that ending but it didn't fit. So here's the rest: "She would eventually create levels in Super Mario Maker based on Raymond's adventures, and they would become some of the most played and most highly rated levels of all time." Merlinus was pretty much the same, so there's nothing to add. Also, I feel that Shion should have an ending. So here it is: "With her vacation over, Shion returned to the Xenosaga world to do Xenosaga things with her Mumbo Wumbo Shumbo Multiple Weapon System." And here's the man of the hour himself. If you can put up with him, he's a great hero worth using. I feel that his support with Sanger shouldn't be wasted, so have a paired ending: "Raymond would continue to be Sanger's student in swordplay. And when he eventually became his equal, he was offered to become the pilot of the next Dygenguard model. This however would put him at odds with Sanger's life partner, Elzam..." No, that deserves a better ending. Try this one instead: "The marquess of Pherae and the duchess of Tahra were wed after the conflict, bringing the two countries together in an unprecedented alliance. They have a son named Roy, who will one day become the champion of Elibe and Jugdral." And finally... As always, I get an average rating. More later. Acacia Sgt
Yeah, looks like some stuff did remained unedited. Shows for sure what was the "intended" stuff, haha. Ah, so Jaffar's ending data could be assigned to Ellen. Though it seems it couldn't display the title. And that issue on the Wins record. Oh well. BBHood217
Extended Epilogue Another timeskip, this one much further ahead. What, you were expecting Hector? Nope, this castle is completely devoid of his presence now. And there's a very good reason for it... The two best buddies reminisce of old times. That's right, it's our boy. It's the future champion of Elibe. ...and Jugdral. But it seems Eliwood's not the only one with kids. Ray also has his own, two of them in fact. He could've easily ended up not awesome, but fortunately the numbers were kind to him. Are they twins? Those names kinda sound twinnish. The kids run off to play. Does that mean Julie also likes to play Mario? Wait what now? Well then. Apparently, Ninian reopened the Gate and came back for Eliwood. She must've really missed him that much. Now she works as Eliwood's housekeeper. How nice. And she's an entertainer too. They get all their playful banter out of their system. So they can finally get serious. Well, maybe it does concern them after all. How did the Elibean Zephiel get all the way to Magvel? My theory is that King Reginald actually had two kids, Ellen and Zephiel. Zeph ended up being a complete psycho and was exiled, where he would make his way to Magvel and somehow become a noble of Grado. And then he would assassinate Emperor Vigarde and take over as the ruler of Grado. When you hang around Ninian long enough, you do tend to pick up some moves. It's not just from Ninian that you could learn from. Maybe you can teach her a thing or two yourself, Ray. Your attempts to force a canon pairing failed, Lynoan is still Eliwood's wife. I'm glad that after Megan overwrote the Athos/Nergal cutscene, they finally stopped giving the CGs (coconut guns) any attention. Ingram even worked one into the plot and have it make sense too. Raymond gears up for a sequel. ...one that is unfortunately incomplete. Over at FE8... Zephiel prepares to take control of the Demon King who'll be an unstoppable force of chaos, unlike that demon dragon that dies from a couple of pokes by a legendary sword. It's over! After a little over a month, this LP is finally done. And here's what I have to show for it: That third tale indicates that there were plans for it, but it ultimately never happened. It could probably be played, but don't expect any changes. So overall, it was fun. For an early FE hack, it was well made and a lot of fun can be gotten from using the different characters (especially if they're your favorites) and playing the changed maps. And while the story and humor can get dumb at times, at other times it was enjoyable. As I've said before, it's very embarrassing but also very important as I like to think that it influenced FE hacking significantly. Besides, what would've been my other choices back then? Corrupt Theocracy? Gheb FE? So thanks for coming along for the ride, especially Acacia Sgt. Will I do another LP in the future? Who knows... spiritomb108
Ohey, GGG and JJJ appeared I still like FE404, despite what Ray says. It's a weird breath of fresh air into FE7, which is honestly a little stale at this point, while still being mostly just FE7. Acacia Sgt
Yep, the intended stuff, haha. Ah, I'd say, this was a nice trip down memory lane (well, I may forgotten a few things, but eh, details). I do thank this hack quite a bit. I know, it's likely the stuff I learned thanks to it (Lunar, SRW, this very site, etc) I would've still found out about them through some other way, but well, perhaps the RNG wouldn't have been so. XD It's a bit of a shame A Sacred Dawn is only partially complete. I guess if you do make another LP it could've been that one as a logical continuation. Or at least only to the point it was done, who knows, up to you.
Mage Knight 404
We each have our sins to bear. But hey, as I said I'd be lying if I stated I didn't have fun while making this thing, because I did. Blissfully naive fun, but fun. I dunno, FE has always seemed like it'd make for good crossover material to me and I really like seeing what potential mishmash of people can come out to play. Super Robot Taisen can do it fine, but it has more leeway in my opinion due to the type of game it is, but I think FE can do it right too, in more able bodied hands. Either way, glad to have been insightful, if only slightly. I'm always happy to provide information or loredumps about my stuff if people ask. BBHood217
Well, I do still have a couple of questions. Is Katherine an OC or not? She wasn't on the list, but she's still related to Bleak who is an OC. If not, then I have no idea where she's from. And, regarding your 15-years-later look... ...are you coming close to resembling that look right now?
Mage Knight 404
Oh man, Katherine. Yeah, she's an OC; I must have completely blanked out when I made the list and forgot about her, mainly because I don't really use her for much at all. Basically she's a friend toward Jessica, who is Heather's instructor(and Anne's replacement if you fail to get her). As for me at the epilogue? I'll be honest, I looked like that pretty much at 13, let alone now; puberty hit me rather hard as a kid. I generally prefer having no beard and stache, though. BBHood217
After playing anything blind on the first playthrough (and usually completing it), I would then spoil myself silly by reading up on everything possible about what I just played. And this hack's no exception. I've browsed through the old FE404 thread, as well as the ones on Yuri's Sidestory and both versions of Sacred Dawn. Even read some posts with the "fire emblem" tag on Ray's blog. Reading through someone's hacking history is fascinating. I still wanna try my hand at my own FE game, but FEXNA is still not out yet. Also apparently, Kid doesn't promote into an assassin. She instead becomes a thief fighter, which is just a thief (same sprites and everything) but with promoted caps. So basically, a rogue who still has to use lockpicks. Finally, I came across an interesting post. But I'm not sure it should be spoiled yet, so I'll keep quiet on it for now. I think I'm sure about one thing about it, though: Lyn still won't be in it :P
