Characters that we don't get much information about: What do you theorize?

Get ready for some Archanea/Valentia headcanons! Also be aware that I have not played FE12 in English so I'm sorry if some of these are way off the mark but eh, whatever.

[spoiler=Archanea]

  • Radd and Caesar are best friends who decided to become a two-man mercenary company together. Radd is the more emotionally-driven of the two, and is actually rather shy; his title of "lady-killer" comes from other people finding him attractive. In reality, he often gets Caesar to start social interactions for him since he's too nervous to do it himself. Caesar is the older of the two, and the more logic-driven. Radd sees him as something of an older brother figure, although the age difference is something like two years at most. Caesar handles the greater portion of the management aspects of his and Radd's mercenary work.
  • Tomas, although quiet, is extremely thoughtful, observant, and quick-minded. His perceptiveness has proven an invaluable asset to his companions on multiple occasions.
  • Barst, Bord, and Cord would be the Superego, Id, and Ego, respectively, of a Freudian Trio.
  • Etzel's wife Ursula was actually Ursula from FE7
  • Xane had feelings for Marth at one point, but never acted on it because Marth was already taken, and he didn't expect to be reciprocated even if that weren't the case. He's still alive during the time of Awakening, but he's off doing something else or otherwise staying out of things. Maybe he's somewhere on Jugdral. Who knows?
  • Elice is actually just as capable of wielding Falchion as Marth is, but as a Cleric she can't use Swords good ol' medieval sexism prevented the Falchion from ever being passed into the hands of a female descendant of Anri (at least until Lucina inherited it), so it was widely (but falsely) believed that women were simply never chosen by the sword at all.
  • Bantu either did have or wanted to have kids in the past, but by the time he meets Tiki, he's just a single old man with no children (either due to them dying or due to him never having had any to begin with). For this reason, he considers Tiki to be like an adopted daughter. Similarly, she sees him as a father. Bantu is still alive as of Awakening's time, and visits Tiki periodically during his travels. He also keeps an eye on Chrom's traveling party, starting no later than Chapter 8, and has discretely aided and protected them without their knowledge more than once.
  • Frey comes from a very affluent noble family, which is where he got his fancy, very Not First Tier-looking outfit from. While he's actually the exact same rank as Cain and Abel are as of the beginning of the War of Shadows, he frequently gets mistakenly assumed to be of much higher rank by new recruits due to his attire. His appearance pretty well implies it, but he's also the second oldest member of Marth's starting company after Jagen, albeit still younger than him by a few decades.
  • Gordon has been picked on and treated like a kid by Cain and Abel in the past, and while his relationship with the two has improved, his best friend among Marth's starting company is still Draug, because he was the only one to treat Gordon as a peer from the get-go.
  • While he is definitely large and burly, Draug also has quick reflexes and is a good runner when not wearing his heavy Knight armor. (Based on him having a good personal Speed growth and doing well in fast classes.)
  • Est's disappearance following the War of Heroes is tied to something back on Valentia.
  • Linde was the one who took down Gharnef. He thought he could easily take on Miloah's inexperienced young daughter and finally claim Aura for himself. He thought wrong.
  • Athena is originally from Tellius, and is Branded (part Cat). Her accent is due to Archanean not being her first language. She has her Laguz parent's eyes. Her use of plural self-referential pronouns was originally a mistake in her understanding of the Archanean language, but she keeps using it even after correcting her knowledge because she feels it makes her come off as more intimidating and powerful. She enjoys Archanea's lack of discrimination against Branded, even if it's due more to ignorance than acceptance.
  • Nobody actually knows how old Rickard is, and he deliberately gives conflicting and sometimes outright ridiculous answers when asked. Whenever he "comes clean", it's to say that he's 23 years old. No one knows whether he's actually telling the truth or if it's just a continuation of him screwing with people.

[spoiler=Valentia]

  • Gray, Robin, and Cliff are best friends. Gray is very energetic and extroverted, Robin is more relaxed, and Cliff is very quiet and low-key. Cliff is also chronically-ill, although he's so stoic that nobody knows it but himself. His disappearance in the ending is tied to this fact.
  • Like the manga suggests, the continent Luthier went to to further his magic studies was Archanea. He studied in Khadein for a time, where he met Merric. The two are peers and casual friendly acquaintances, but not quite on the level of being friends.
  • Dyute has no real interest in things like romance or sex, and never has.
  • Someway, somehow, Teeta finds out about Zeke's past and original identity, which ultimately ends up strengthening the trust in their relationship, much to Zeke's relief. Also, the name "Zeke" was actually given to him by Teeta, whether as an affectionate nickname for Ezekiel, or as her suggestion as to what he should go by when he had forgotten his original name and identity. As a result of this, he has a lot of affection for the name and gladly goes by it.
  • Jenny is the kind of person who'll give someone a tidbit of information to suggest a much more interesting complete picture, and then refuse to tell them the rest of it. Everyone she interacts with finds this infuriating. She finds the frustration it causes hilarious.
  • Boey and Mae have complementary senses of humor; Boey is a master of bad puns and other such silly sorts of jokes, while Mae is Celica's company's own resident queen of snark. The two of them also have the sort of relationship where they're each the only one who's allowed to pick on the other. Boey is also rather clumsy. Ironically, his living space is much cleaner than Mae's.
  • Alm is very emotionally-driven and rather short-tempered. While he's an excellent warrior and a good leader while actually engaged in combat, Mycen has concerns about his ability to be an effective leader outside of the context of war, and makes an effort to help teach Alm restraint and objectivity.
  • Celica's a very sharp, confident, and level-headed leader, making her a foil to Alm's brashness. Her battle sprite's appearance also leads me to see her as somewhat chubby, although I realize her official art blatantly contradicts this.
  • Kamui was super excited to star in his own Fire Emblem game when Fates was announced and he was comforted by Robin when it turned out it was actually some new chump with the same name
  • Saber was drowning his sorrows at the pub after being rejected from FE1 and leapt at the chance to be in a Fire Emblem party when Celica spoke to him
  • Leo thinks he's a lot cooler than he actually is.

I came up with a few theories about the red dragon Gareth from Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn; and perhaps one of the most underdeveloped characters FE has ever made:

Gareth, revered as the greatest warrior in Goldoa and second in might only to the royal family. He has served the royal family of Goldoa all his life and has earned the respect of all who know him. He is happy to serve Kurthnaga, but orders of the king come first. (Almost all of this so far is stuff we already know). He sees Kurthnaga like a nephew, and is glad to serve a dragon so wise beyond his years (for a dragon laguz). He harbours no curiosity about the outside world, but is not outright hostile towards trespassers; he simply follows orders. Though, deep down, he is saddened by his kingdom's isolationism. He is a man of few words, preferring to let his actions speak for him.

This may not be very well organized, but, aside from that, what do you think?

My mental image of the real Garon is of Emperor Marcus Aurelius: he fought like hell to keep his kingdom together, was a great warrior and general, and a benevolent King, but at the end of it just before he got replaced, he was just tired. Then, as the Ice tribe refused to pay tribute, he gave in to Anankos because he didn't want everything he did to be for nothing. Now, if the game actually did that, that would be a good explanation for his possession. He could even be a good foil to Takumi. Unfortunately it doesn't do that, and... you know...

Sanaki looked to Sephiran as a surrogate father. That makes his trying to use her to bring about the end of everything all the more dickish.

Valter was popular with the common soldiers of the Grado army, probably because he let them sack the cities they conquered. Lyon putting him into the army only makes sense this way; if Lyon was sympathetic, why would he put such a clear sadist in charge. You could argue that Formotiis was doing it, but Formotiis clearly wanted Lyon to think he was in control, so why risk that jut for a common thug?

Is there really any debate about that? Like I don't think she ever directly calls him father but references are made to him literally holding her as a baby to make her stop crying and she clearly cares about him a whole lot when she meets him in Radiant dawn. To the extent (I believe) she won't even directly attack him.

Anyways as for me, Athos (and Bramimond) is super racists towards dragons. The reason Archadia has so few dragons is because he's been knocking them off subtly over the centuries while at the same time helping himself to all their knowledge. The Fire Dragon at the end wasn't intending anything hostel at all, Athos just told Eliwood it was dangerous and like a good little pawn Eliwood complied and murdered it.

Soan is kind of the red haired stephchild when it comes to Ashera's heroes. Lehran and Dheginsea are both present in the story and Altina is mentioned in the lore from time to time. All we know about Soan is that he was a Lion and the second king of Begnion and...that's it really.

So for a little headcanon I think he could have been a failed ruler who saw Begnion slide towards the civil war during his kingship. Soan could suffer the typical setback of war heroes who enter politics: they just aren't very good at it. Both Lethe and the lore book mentioned that the civil war happened partly because the Senators where getting uncomfortable about Laguz remaining in high position of power so king Soan might have given them reason to feel that way. Its been pointed out that arrogance is the forte of the beast tribe and that Caineghis is the exception to the rule.

Given that one picture we see of him, his hair probably wasn't red.
