SadeSkirata
So I've been looking at basically every analysis I could find for Three Houses because I literally cannot wait for it and noticed that no one really seems to have a good idea to what the three stars mean on the 1 on 1 tutoring screen. While the arrows up and down were pretty explicit, the three stars didn't seem to stand out. After a while though, I just happened to think about the formations and how we have seen footsoldiers, mages, mounted units, and archers. What if the three stars are representing the type of soldiers your battalion currently uses? In the trailer, Dorothea is the only one to not have formations symbols and the three stars are under "Reason" with an E rank. Perhaps battalions are tied the ranks, unlocked by them, enhanced by them, or some combination? No real evidence to support it either way but wondered what others thought all the same. Cysx
I mean, who knows at this point, that being said the three stars are next to faith magic, not reason. Maybe it's a hurdle to overcome to turn her weakness into a strength, maybe it's something Byleth himself is better at teaching, perhaps faith magic will be/has been the subject of a test and this is the notation... whase
I just figured those stars would somehow tie into the student's personal preference for study. She might grow extremely fast in this particular skill if you train her in it?
Calico
@whase Possibly, but we can see in the trailer that Dorothea's "Growth Goals" has a focus on swords and reason, both of which are strengths, which means she grows faster in those areas. However, the stars are next to Faith, which has a weakness sign next to it, suggesting that it will be slower to grow. It doesn't really seem likely that she'd have a strength and a weakness in the same subject at the same time.
iavasechui
Maybe it’s overcoming a natural weakness that unlocks hidden potential?

Praying there's different class subjects/tests, and depending on how each student does during these they receive bonus exp when being further instructed on a certain talent.
