_____
Am I the only one who saw that there was a lot less terrain in this? Almost everything was Plain, Floor, or Sky.
CGV
I kinda noticed, too
General Spoon
I miss forests. Hedges, you do not count.
Herr Wozzeck
That lack of terrain is true. But, by the same time, we had height in some of the maps, and that provided strategic advantages or disadvantages depending on what was going on, right? _____
True, but it was rarely an advantage. The only times I can think of where it would be and advantage would be the Defense missions, and they're really rare. Part 1 Endgame is pretty tough because of those ledges, too. 100% hit archers ftl.

Part 1 Endgame is pretty tough because of those ledges, too. 100% hit archers ftl. I also said 'disadvantage'. Thus meaning that they would make the game harder... And you're also forgetting Part 4 Chapter 3 (whichever one where you're in Oliver's house again), where if your units are fast enough you can have ranged units sit on top of those ledges to the right side of the map and snipe enemy units without fear of being attacked. And actually, the Part 1 Endgame isn't too bad if you crowd everyone on the stairs.
_____
Attacking the top area where Jarod is is rather bothersome, too.
Reikken
It was the same way in FE9. There was less there, even. At least endgame had tons of defensive terrain in this one. Anyway, I do not miss forts, forests, etc. Too broken.
VincentASM
I'm sure there's dozens of terrain types (I love how one of them is a "Cow" or something), but they all boil down to the three or so you specified.
Starwolf_UK
I remember when I bought this up for FE9 someone said the graphics style kind of makes it hard to represent an entire fort or a forest as just one title without looking daft which is the best way to look at it really. Killer Poleax
Yeah there aren't many terrain tiles compared to the GBA ones but I think that actually makes it a little harder. You actually have to train the characters a little instead of hiding in a forest. Maybe people relied on them too much so they took them out to make it harder.
